Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Saints WR Jarvis Landry is heading to IR with his ankle injury. The 30-year-old will end up playing in just 9 games this season, averaging only 2.8 catches and 30 yards per. Landry will hit free agency in March but doesn't figure to draw a ton of interest and isn't a great bet for significant 2023 fantasy value.
Saints WR Chris Olave (hamstring) did not practice again on Wednesday. Teammate Jarvis Landry popped up on the practice report for the first time with an ankle injury of his own. It's unclear what the Saints WR corps will look like on Saturday in Week 16 vs. the Browns. Be on the lookout for updates tomorrow that will shed some more light.
Coming off a pair of bad outings, Saints QB Andy Dalton proved efficient and productive in Sunday's win over the Rams. He completed 21 of 25 passes for 260 yards and 3 TDs. Dalton found WR Chris Olave for a 53-yard score, tossing his other 2 TDs to TE Juwan Johnson and WR Jarvis Landry. Olave was the only Saint to crack 50 receiving yards, taking his 5 catches for 102 yards. New Orleans heads to San Francisco in Week 12.
Saints TE Juwan Johnson led the team in targets (7), receptions (5) and receiving yards (44) in Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh. He also snagged the team's only TD of the day from 15 yards out. WR Chris Olave, WR Jarvis Landry and RB Alvin Kamara tied for 2nd on the team with 3 receptions apiece. Landry checked in 2nd with 6 targets in his 1st action since Week 4. Olave trailed Landry by 1 target and 1 snap but ran 2 more routes. Week 11 holds a home date with the Rams.
Saints WR Marquez Callaway is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Steelers. He's the odd man out with WR Jarvis Landry back. Landry joins Chris Olave and Tre'Quan Smith as New Orleans' top 3 WRs.
Saints WR Jarvis Landry (ankle) was limited in practice all week but isn’t listed on the final injury report. So he’ll play vs. the Steelers on Sunday for the 1st time since Week 4. Landry had a big Week 1 but averaged just 4.0 targets, 2.7 catches and 18 yards over his next 3 games. He’s not a viable fantasy play this weekend.
Saints WR Jarvis Landry (ankle) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He was limited last week before missing Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. We'll see if Landry can make it back for this weekend's game vs. the Steelers, but he shouldn't be in your fantasy plans.
Saints WR Jarvis Landry (ankle) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Ravens. He was limited in practice all week but will miss his 5th straight game. Chris Olave, Marquez Callaway and Tre'Quan Smith will again operate as New Orleans' top 3 WRs.
Saints WR Jarvis Landry (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He was limited in practice all week. Landry can't be trusted in Week 9 fantasy lineups with the late kickoff.
Saints WR Jarvis Landry (ankle) got in a limited practice on Thursday. We'll see if he's able to play vs. the Ravens on Monday night. Landry has been sidelined since Week 4.
Saints WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) are out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. HC Dennis Allen said Friday that there's no timetable for their returns, but that he does expect both guys to play again this season. WR Chris Olave should continue to dominate targets this weekend, with Marquez Callaway and Tre'Quan Smith as New Orleans' #2 and #3 WRs.
Saints WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) missed practice again on Thursday. Both guys are long shots to play vs. the Raiders this weekend.
Saints WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) remained sidelined on Wednesday. Fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on either guy in Week 8 lineups.
Saints WR Chris Olave stepped up in Week 7 with 7 catches for 106 yards. The rookie has now hit 50 yards in 5 straight, a stretch that includes 53 targets. Of course, it’s helped that Jarvis Landry has missed the past 3 games; Michael Thomas has missed the last 4. But watching film on Olave, it’s clear that he deserves a sizable weekly role. The analytics back it up, as he ranks 9th in yards per route run (2.46) among 82 qualifiers. We'll see about the statuses of Olave’s veteran teammates. But even if they're active, Olave will profile as a WR3+ for Sunday’s home matchup with Vegas.
The Saints have ruled WR Michael Thomas (foot), WR Jarvis Landry (ankle) and TE Adam Trautman out for Thursday night's game against the Cardinals. WR Chris Olave, on the other hand, should be set to return after missing Week 6 with a concussion. Trautman's absence boosts TE Juwan Johnson, who garnered 6 targets Sunday with Trainman leaving early.
Saints WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) remained sidelined on Tuesday. Neither guy is expected to play vs. the Cardinals on Thursday night, leaving Chris Olave, Tre'Quan Smith and Marquez Callaway as New Orleans' top 3 WRs.
The Saints listed WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) as missing practice on Monday's estimated report, ahead of the Thursday night game against Arizona. WR Chris Olave (concussion) was off the injury report, indicating he should be good to go for Week 7.
Saints insider Jeff Duncan hears that WRs Michael Thomas (foot) and Jarvis Landry (ankle) are not expected back for Thursday night's game vs. the Cardinals. Neither guy seemed close to playing this past week, so it's no surprise that they won't be ready on the short turnaround. Duncan adds that there's "optimism" that WR Chris Olave will clear concussion protocol by Thursday. If that's the case, the rookie should be in for a big target share.
