Josh Allen Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bills QB Josh Allen injured his right shoulder in the second quarter of Sunday night's win over the Giants. He wound up missing just one play. Allen said afterward that the shoulder issue didn't impact his throwing and that scans came back "normal." He's scheduled for additional testing on Monday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. We'll keep a close eye on this one, but it seems like Allen will be available for this weekend's game vs. the Patriots.

Bills QB Josh Allen completed 19 of 30 attempts for 169 yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT in Sunday night’s narrow victory vs. the Giants. Week 6 was not the strongest showing from the Bills offense as a whole, and the team struggled throughout the contest. It wasn’t until the third quarter that Allen and company successfully executed a score or gained more than 40 yards on a single drive. Week 7 presents a solid opportunity for Allen to get back to his dominant ways against a struggling Patriots defense.

Bills QB Josh Allen completed 27 of 40 attempts for 359 passing yards with 2 TDs and 1 INT in Week 5’s loss vs. the Jaguars. He also added 14 yards and a TD as a rusher in the contest. Allen helped to orchestrate a comeback late in the game with back-to-back 75-yard scoring drives, though the Bills came up just shy of the victory in London. Still, fantasy managers are happy with the production Allen provided. He’ll be a high-end QB1 again next week against the Giants in Week 6.

Bills QB Josh Allen went off on the Dolphins, tallying 320 yards and 4 TDs. He added 17 yards and a score on the ground. Allen leaned on Stefon Diggs, who exploded for 6-120-3 against a Fins defense that supplied little resistance. Allen’s now hit 25+ fantasy points in three straight. He’ll remain an elite option Sunday vs. Jacksonville.

Bills QB Josh Allen completed 31 of 37 passes for 274 yards and 3 TDs in a win over Las Vegas. Call it a predictable bounce back in a favorable matchup. The Raiders’ pass rush struggled to get home, and Allen made them pay both inside the pocket and out. His scores went to Dawson Knox, Khalil Shakir, and Gabe Davis. Allen remains a locked-in top-3 fantasy QB.

Bills QB Josh Allen completed 29 passes on 41 attempts for 236 passing yards with 1 TD and 3 INTs in Monday’s OT loss vs. the Jets. He also ran for 36 yards and lost a fumble at a crucial stage of the fourth quarter, a play that aided in swinging the momentum toward New York. Allen had a generally solid game, but a trio of INTs into the hands of Jets S Jordan Whitehead sunk his fantasy prospects. The All-Pro signal-caller can add his name to the list of big-name players who had a disappointing opening game. Allen will have a chance at redemption in Week 2 vs. the Raiders.

Bills RB coach Kelly Skipper gave his assessment of 2nd-year RB James Cook. “Big jump (from first to second year),” Skipper said. “I see it in the classroom. You can see he’s taking control of the playbook. If I ask a question, he’s the first one to answer, where before, he was just really learning. He got that experience, and you saw how much better he got toward the end of the year.” We’ll see how Buffalo breaks down first-team reps at training camp between Cook and Damien Harris. Overall, look for this backfield to see a small uptick in volume. Per beat writer Ryan O’Halloran, the expectation is that the Bills will reduce Josh Allen’s rushing load. (Allen handled nearly 30% of Buffalo’s carries in 2022.) Visit our fantasy football RB rankings to see backfield expectations.

Bills HC Sean McDermott admitted that the number of hits QB Josh Allen takes makes him nervous. "I don't think that's a healthy way to play QB in this league and it's undefeated that things are going to happen when you play that style, brand of football," McDermott said. "We have to get that adjusted and it's never going to go completely away, but it has to get where it's workable. ... He's one of the best in the league and I don't want to take his personality away from him ... but there needs to be an adjustment in that style of play." Allen, of course, has been one of the most effective running QBs since entering the league five years ago. He's averaged 5.7 yards per carry and leads his position with 38 rushing TDs over that span. Allen has averaged between 3.5 and 4.5 designed rushing attempts per game in all five of his NFL seasons, ranking among the top five QBs in total designed rushing attempts in all five. Perhaps Buffalo scales that number back a bit going forward. But we'd be surprised if Allen's rushing volume took a significant hit. It's simply too big a part of his game -- and too big a part of the Bills' offense.

Bills QB Josh Allen said Monday that he's not expected to have surgery on the UCL injury he suffered in his right elbow on November 6. He also told reporters that he didn't feel like he had his usual throwing mechanics until 2 weeks ago. Allen's numbers certainly suggest that the elbow was an issue. In his first 8 games, including the 1 in which he hurt the elbow late, he posted a 64.1% completion rate, 8.1 yards per attempt and 19 TDs vs. 8 INTs. Over his final 10 games, including the playoffs, he registered a 61.7% completion rate, 7.1 yards per attempt and 19 TDs vs. 9 INTs. We'll keep an eye on Allen's status throughout the offseason, but he should tentatively expected to be 100% for the 2023 campaign.

Bills QB Josh Allen completed 25 of 42 passes for 265 yards and 1 INT in Sunday’s loss vs. Cincinnati. His pick came late in the 4th with the game already wrapped up. The Bengals mustered only 1 sack, but steady pressure — and snowy conditions — made life tough for Allen. Allen did pop in a rushing score, his 8th of the season. Buffalo should now shift its focus to upgrading the pass catchers and the OL.

Bills QB Josh Allen put up a monster 352-3-2 passing line in a Wild Card win over Miami. We wouldn’t put either INT on Allen, although he was to blame for a lost fumble in the pocket. Credit Miami for only allowing 20 rushing yards on 4 Allen runs. As a passer, though, Allen’s rare arm talent showed up in several key spots. His scores went to Gabe Davis, Cole Beasley and Dawson Knox. Allen will likely face the Bengals — at home — next weekend.

The NFL announced that a neutral-site Bills vs. Chiefs AFC Championship game would be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Yes ... that'd be Josh Allen vs. Patrick Mahomes in a dome to go to the Super Bowl. Bills-Chiefs produced 62 points in the playoffs 2 years ago and 78 points last year -- with both games coming outside at Arrowhead Stadium.

Bills QB Josh Allen (ankle, right elbow) upgraded to full practice again on Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation ahead of Week 18 vs. the Patriots. With AFC playoff seeding still being a factor in this game, it stands to reason that Allen and all other key starters will play the full compliment of snaps. Fire up Allen as a no-doubt QB1, per usual.

The NFL announced that the Bills-Bengals game will not be rescheduled. It's officially a no-contest and players do not receive any stats for the game. Commissioner Roger Goodell is also recommending that the AFC Championship Game be played at a neutral site if the Bills or Bengals make it there as the road team. All 32 teams will vote on that proposal on Friday.

Update: The NFL owners have approved these changes to the playoff setup.
