Josh Downs Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) will start this weekend's game vs. the Dolphins, HC Shane Steichen confirmed on Friday. Richardson put in a full week of practice and should be nearing 100% at this point. Consider him a risk/reward QB1 play against a Dolphins squad that ranks 16th in pass defense DVOA and 31st in run defense DVOA. Richardson's return is a significant downgrade for WRs Josh Downs and Michael Pittman.

Colts WRs Michael Pittman (back) and Josh Downs (toe) were held out of Wednesday's practice. Both guys played through their respective injuries last week and should be available for Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. But we'll keep an eye on them the rest of the week.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) will start Sunday's game against the Dolphins "unless there's a setback," HC Shane Steichen said Monday. Richardson was surprisingly inactive for the Week 6 win over the Titans, despite practicing all week. Perhaps QB Joe Flacco's middling performance in that one was enough to push Richardson back into the starting lineup. He'll return to a plus matchup against a Dolphins defense sitting 24th in DVOA. But Richardson will be a risky QB1 play based on what we've seen from him so far this season. His return is also bad news for WRs Josh Downs and Michael Pittman.

Colts WR Josh Downs caught 7 of 9 targets for 66 yards and a TD. With QB Joe Flacco getting the start, Downs put up another solid fantasy performance.

Colts WR Josh Downs (toe) is active for today’s game vs. the Titans. He only practiced on Friday, so it’s likely that Downs won’t be at 100% for this one. But he's in the WR3 mix with QB Joe Flacco getting the start.

Colts QB Joe Flacco will start today's game vs. the Titans, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) will serve as the emergency third QB. Flacco played well in the Week 5 loss to the Jaguars, throwing for 359 yards and three scores. Today's matchup is tougher, so Flacco is not a recommended QB1 play. But he's good news for WRs Josh Downs and Michael Pittman.

ESPN's Stephen Holder reports that Colts WRs Michael Pittman (back) and Josh Downs (toe) are expected to play against the Titans on Sunday. Both guys got in just limited practices on Friday, so it's safe to assume they won't be at 100% for this one. And, with QB Anthony Richardson expected back under center, Pittman and Downs land outside the top 35 WRs in our Week 6 Rankings.

Colts WR Josh Downs (toe) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Titans. After missing the first two practices of the week, Downs was a full participant on Friday and looked good, according to HC Shane Steichen. That puts him on track to play on Sunday, although the toe issue adds some risk.

Colts WR Josh Downs (toe) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He's seemingly in legitimate danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Titans. That'd leave Indianapolis without its top two WRs in Downs and Michael Pittman. Alec Pierce, Adonai Mitchell, and Ashton Dulin would be left as the team's top three WRs. We'll update Downs' status again tomorrow.

Colts WR Michael Pittman is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with a back injury, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Pittman didn't practice on Wednesday, so this injury presumably occurred in the Week 5 loss to the Jaguars. We'll look for more details on the injury and Pittman's timetable for return, but Schefter adds that, "injured reserve is an option."

Colts QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. QB Joe Flacco starts in his place. The 39-year-old threw for 168 yards with two TDs and 0 INTs in relief of Richardson last week. And he averaged 323 yards and 2.6 TDs per game across five starts for the Browns last year. Flacco sits well into QB2 range in the Week 5 Rankings, but he’s a significant upgrade for Colts pass catchers.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was limited in practice all week. QB Joe Flacco was reportedly taking the first-team reps in the portion of Friday’s practice open to the media. We’ll look for further updates on Richardson’s status and get the Colts’ inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. WRs Michael Pittman and Josh Downs will get significant boosts up our rankings if Flacco ends up starting.

Colts WR Josh Downs tallied a team-high 8 receptions for 82 yards and a TD on 9 targets in Sunday's win over the Steelers. Downs caught an 11-yard pass from Anthony Richardson before the QB left with a first-quarter hip injury. But then he caught a 4-yard TD on Joe Flacco's first pass attempt and drew a target on four of the QB's first seven attempts. Downs' 9 targets tied Pittman for the team lead in that category.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson has been diagnosed with a hip pointer, NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reports. The "hope" is that Richardson "misses very little or no game action," Wolfe adds. It's relatively good news, although it sounds like Richardson isn't a lock to be ready for Week 5. We'll keep you updated on his progress this coming week.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) put in a full week of practice and is not listed on the final injury report. He’ll make his 2024 debut on Sunday against the Bears. Downs could quickly emerge as Indianapolis’ No. 2 WR, but he’s not a recommended fantasy starter in his first game back from a significant ankle injury.

Colts WR Josh Downs expects to make his 2024 debut vs. the Bears this weekend, he said on Wednesday. Downs suffered his high-ankle sprain exactly six weeks ago, so he should be getting close to 100%. He practiced all last week, including a full workout on Friday.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. The team is wisely playing it safe with his return from a high-ankle sprain. Downs should be back for Week 3, but we’ll track his progress this coming week. His absence keeps Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, and Adonai Mitchell locked in as Indianapolis’ clear top three WRs.
