Justice Hill Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Ravens RB Justice Hill (foot) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported earlier this week that it "shouldn’t result in a lengthy absence” for Hill, so we’ll see if he can make it back for Week 4. Gus Edwards should operate as Baltimore’s clear lead back this weekend, with RBs Melvin Gordon and Kenyan Drake behind him.

Ravens RB Justice Hill (foot) remained sidelined on Thursday. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow, but fantasy owners should start making other Week 3 plans. Hill's absence would turn Gus Edwards into a RB2 play vs. the Colts.

Ravens RB Justice Hill has a toe injury that "could keep him out of the Week 3 matchup with the Colts," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports. Fowler adds that it "shouldn’t result in a lengthy absence." That explains why Baltimore added RB Kenyan Drake earlier today. We'll keep an eye on Hill's status, but fantasy owners should be making other Week 3 plans. If Hill misses the Colts game, we'd expect Gus Edwards to handle most of the RB carries.

The Ravens signed RB Kenyan Drake to the practice squad. He played 12 games for Baltimore last year, averaging a solid 4.4 yards per carry on 109 attempts. We'll see if Drake gets the nod over Melvin Gordon as Baltimore's No. 3 RB this weekend. For now, Drake is only worth stashing in the deepest of fantasy leagues.

As expected, the Ravens split work pretty evenly between RBs Justice Hill and Gus Edwards in the first game since J.K. Dobbins' Achilles' tendon tear. Hill edged Edwards 11-10 in carries and garnered all 3 RB targets. But Edwards proved more efficient. He averaged 6.2 yards per carry and delivered the team's only rushing score, from 1 yard out in the first quarter. Hill got the only other RB goal-line carry right before that. Hill caught all three of his targets for 12 yards and tallied 41 yards on his 11 carries (3.7 per rush). Expect the pair to continue splitting opportunities. A Week 3 home date with the Colts looks like a neutral rushing matchup.

Ravens RB Melvin Gordon has been elevated from the practice squad, an expected move following the season-ending injury to RB J.K. Dobbins. Gordon figures to work as the No. 3 RB behind Justice Hill and Gus Edwards. We'll see exactly how much work he steals from those guys.

The Ravens confirmed a torn Achilles for RB J.K. Dobbins. We’re expecting a committee approach with Justice Hill and Gus Edwards going forward. Next up is a road matchup with Cincinnati.

Ravens RB Justice Hill delivered 2 rushing TDs in Sunday's win over the Texans. His 8 carries tied J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards for the team lead, with 7 of those coming after Dobbins suffered a torn Achilles' tendon. Hill managed just 9 yards on his 8 attempts, splitting work evenly with Edwards after Dobbins went down. Edwards took his 8 carries for 32 yards and added a two-point conversion run. The two appear likely to split the backfield going forward, and we'd bet on the Ravens adding another RB.

NFL Network reports that Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins is feared to have suffered a torn Achilles. He's scheduled for an MRI to confirm. It'd be a season-ending injury for Dobbins, who had seemingly just worked back to 100% from his devastating 2021 knee injury. Dobbins' absence would leave Baltimore's backfield to Justice Hill and Gus Edwards.

The Ravens released RB Melvin Gordon. They'll carry RBs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, Justice Hill, and rookie Keaton Mitchell into Week 1.

The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec writes that Ravens RB Justice Hill's stock is up. "You no longer should be asking whether Hill is a lock to make the team," Zrebiec adds. "It’s probably more pertinent to ask whether he’ll have a notable role on offense. He’s earned it with how he’s practiced this summer and played in the preseason." Hill has turned six preseason touches into 86 total yards, while playing ahead of RB Gus Edwards in the first exhibition. We still don't expect Hill to have tangible fantasy value behind a healthy RB J.K. Dobbins. But Hill might be the Ravens RB to own if Dobbins misses time.

The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec believes Ravens RB Justice Hill is “set” in the RB3 role. Zrebiec thinks it’s down to Melvin Gordon and rookie Keaton Mitchell -- if Baltimore keeps four RBs. Gordon’s made a “compelling case” to make the team, although Mitchell brings more "speed and explosiveness" (plus special teams potential). We should see both guys suit up for tonight's preseason tilt with Washington.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins will not play against the Bengals today "and instead will begin focusing on next weekend’s wild-card game." Dobbins was not listed on this week's injury report but had the August 2021 ACL tear and surgery on that same knee this October. Assuming he didn't suffer a setback over the past couple of days, Dobbins should be busy in next weekend's Wild Card game. His absence today figures to leave Gus Edwards as Baltimore's lead ball carrier, with Justice Hill and Kenyan Drake behind him.

Ravens RB Kenyan Drake is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Browns. Baltimore will roll with RBs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill.

Fill-in QB Tyler Huntley led the Ravens with 41 rushing yards on 10 carries in Sunday's win over the Broncos. RB Kenyan Drake followed with just 29 yards on 7 attempts (4.1 per carry). Then came Gus Edwards (6-12, 2.0) and Justice Hill (1-2). Next comes a visit to Pittsburgh. We'll see whether RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) is ready to return -- as well as how much longer QB Lamar Jackson will remain out.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards took over the backfield Sunday against the Jaguars, in his return from a hamstring injury. He handled a team-high 16 carries, 84.2% of the team's RB rushing attempts. RB Kenyan Drake played half as many snaps in all and ran just 2 more routes than Edwards. He split time with Justice Hill. They combined for 3 rushes and 1 target. Edwards took his 16 run for just 52 yards but saved his fantasy line with a 1-yard TD early in the 4th quarter. Week 13 brings a Denver defense that has been weaker against the run than the pass for a while.

11:31am EST 11/27/22

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He’s the best bet to lead Baltimore RBs in carries today, but it’s tough to know exactly what the backfield split will look like between Edwards, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill.
