Ricky Pearsall Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) is out for Sunday night’s game vs. the Falcons. He remained sidelined in practice all week and has no clear timetable for return. Pearsall’s absence keeps WR Kendrick Bourne in play as a potential fantasy starter.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. HC Kyle Shanahan said the team had been hoping that Pearsall's recovery would go faster than it has. "But he’s better this week than last week, and hopefully it continues," Shanahan added. We'll keep you posted on Pearsall's progress, but he doesn't look like a good bet to play vs. the Falcons on Sunday night.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that 49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) and WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) have a "chance" to return for next weekend's game against the Falcons. Both guys missed all three practices this week and were ruled out on Friday. We'll keep tabs on their progress this coming week.

WR Ricky Pearsall has officially been ruled out for San Francisco's Week 6 trip to Tampa Bay to take on the Buccaneers. Pearsall will miss his second consecutive game with a PCL injury. The 49ers will also be without QB Brock Purdy (toe) and TE George Kittle (hamstring).

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. He's looking like a long shot to play vs. the Buccaneers this weekend. WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib) returned to a limited practice on Thursday, giving him a shot to suit up on Sunday. We'll get another update on both of these guys on Friday afternoon.

49ers WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Kyle Shanahan admitted afterward that the team “is not counting” on having Pearsall back this week. It sounds like Jennings has a better chance of playing against the Buccaneers on Sunday, although he's still very uncertain. We'll keep you updated on the situation over the next few days. WR Kendrick Bourne will be a low-end fantasy starter if just one of Pearsall and Jennings play; an upside WR3 if both guys miss.

49ers WR Kendrick Bourne exploded for 10 catches and 142 yards in Thursday night's overtime win vs. the Rams. His 11 targets tied for the team lead and were a 22.4% share. Bourne consistently created separation on short and intermediate routes and was clearly QB Mac Jones' most trusted WR on a night when Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings, and Brandon Aiyuk were all out. Jones and Bourne played together in New England from 2021 to 2023, and they clearly still have chemistry.

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) and WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) have all been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Rams. It doesn't sound like any of their injuries are serious, but the short week did them no favors. We'll see if they can make it back for Week 6. QB Mac Jones makes another start vs. the Rams this week. He played well in Week 2 and 3 starts, completing 66% of his passes at 7.0 yards per attempt with 4 TDs vs. 1 INT. He'll be working with a rag tag group of pass catchers on Thursday night, though. The WR corps figures to be led by Kendrick Bourne, Demarcus Robinson, and Skyy Moore, while Jake Tonges again leads the TE room. We'd try not to mess with any of these guys in Week 5 fantasy lineups. RB Christian McCaffrey will be very busy yet again.

49ers QB Brock Purdy (toe) did not practice on Tuesday. "I feel a lot better compared to the Week 1 game," Purdy said. "Toe is just a little sore from the game, but nowhere near as bad as after Seattle (in Week 1)." Purdy did not say whether he expects to play vs. the Rams on Thursday night, though. We'll see if he practices tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report. WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, rib) also missed Wednesday's practice.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall is iffy for Thursday night's game against the Rams after injuring his right knee in the Week 4 loss to the Jaguars. (He dealt with soreness in his left knee last week.) Pearsall spent some time in the medical tent after landing hard on his knee yesterday. He tried to return but lasted just one play before exiting again. "I fell pretty hard on my knee," Pearsall said afterward. "I was just feeling pain and a little bit of instability. I wasn't trying to mess with it." Shanahan on Pearsall on Monday: "They're thinking more of a minor PCL or something like that is what our guess is, just landing on it hard. Hopefully it won't be too bad. Obviously, a huge concern with the Thursday night game and stuff, but we're not expecting it to be too bad." We'll keep you updated on Pearsall over the next few days, but fantasy owners should have another option lined up for Week 5.

After missing 2 games, Brock Purdy returned to action, throwing for 309 yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs in San Francisco's 26-21 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. He also had 13 rushing yards on 2 carries.

Turnovers ultimately unraveled the Niners. In addition to a pair of interceptions, Purdy lost one of the two fumbles that the Jaguars recovered.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars with a knee injury. This is presumably the same issue that had him listed as questionable heading into this one. We'll pass along an update when we get one.

Update: Pearsall returned in the fourth quarter.

49ers WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder) are active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported this morning that Jennings is “likely” to be limited, so we’d try to leave him on fantasy benches. Pearsall carries elevated risk with the knee issue but still checks in as a top-24 WR in the Week 4 rankings. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling is a healthy scratch with WR Demarcus Robinson making his 2025 debut.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) is expected to play vs. the Jaguars today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Pearsall got in just two limited practices this week and is listed as questionable, so there's elevated risk here. But Schefter notably said teammate WR Jauan Jennings is "likely" to be limited today, while making no such comment on Pearsall. We'll look for further updates on his status, but Pearsall belongs in most Week 4 fantasy lineups. See where he sits in the WR rankings.

49ers WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder) are listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars. Pearsall got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday and seems like the better bet to play. Jennings got in just a limited practice on Friday after missing Week 3 with these injuries. Hopefully we get updates on these guys on Sunday morning. We won't get San Francisco's inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET.

49ers WR Ricky Pearsall (knee) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. That should have him on track to play vs. the Jaguars this weekend, but we'll update his status again tomorrow. WR Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder) remained sidelined on Thursday and is in danger of missing his second straight game.

49ers WRs Ricky Pearsall (knee) and Jauan Jennings (ankle, shoulder) did not practice on Wednesday. Pearsall appeared to bang his knee on a 4th-and-2 catch in last week's win over the Cardinals but was able to finish out the game. "Hopefully he'll get better later in the week," HC Kyle Shanahan said. Jennings missed Week 3 and remains uncertain for this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars. Check back tomorrow for an update on both guys.
