Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Giants WR Kadarius Toney is not expected to be suspended for throwing a punch near the end of Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Toney was ejected from that game, putting an end to a breakout performance. The rookie posted a big 10-189 line on 13 targets. He has 16 catches on 22 targets over the past 2 weeks. WRs Kenny Golladay, Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton are all currently dealing with injuries. But even when they're all healthy, Toney should remain a big part of this Giants passing game.
The Steelers are expected to place WR JuJu Smith-Schuster on IR and fear he may miss the rest of the season with the shoulder injury that knocked him out of Sunday's win over the Broncos, according to Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. With James Washington already out, Ray-Ray McCloud got 52% playing time vs. Denver, behind only Diontae Johnson and Chase Claypool at the position. More of a slot player than Johnson, Claypool or Washington, McCloud could continue to see significant playing time for as long as Smith-Schuster is out. We'll see about Washington's status heading into Week 6. We'll also see about the specific diagnosis on Smith-Schuster's shoulder.
Browns CB Denzel Ward left Sunday's loss to the Chargers with a neck injury. We'll see about his availability for next Sunday's home date with the Cardinals. Avoiding Ward would enhance the matchup for WR DeAndre Hopkins. Cleveland rookie LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah also suffered a throat contusion against the Chargers and went to a local hospital after the game. We'll see about his status, coming off a season-high 91% playing time.
Chiefs TE Travis Kelce suffered a "stinger" on a hard hit late in Sunday night's loss to the Bills, HC Andy Reid told reporters after the game. That's a generally minor injury to the neck/shoulder area. We'll watch Kelce's status this week but don't expect his availability to be threatened for a Week 6 trip to Washington, barring some change in the diagnosis.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid said after Sunday night's loss to the Bills that WR Tyreek Hill came away with a knee injury. We'll watch for more details on that situation this week, as the start of the issue wasn't obvious during the game.
Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire injured his left leg in the 3rd quarter of Sunday night's game vs. the Bills. He was in obvious pain and had to be helped off the field by teammates. We'll update his status when we know more.
Update: K.C. quickly ruled him out for the game with a left knee injury.
Giants WR Kenny Golladay told reporters after Sunday's loss to the Cowboys that he hyperextended his knee in the 1st quarter. It got worse throughout the 1st half and he didn't play in the 2nd. We'll look for further updates on Golladay's injury and monitor his practice participation this coming week.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley is believed to have a low-ankle sprain and will "likely" miss next weekend's game vs. the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "He’ll have more tests, but he’s best characterized as week-to-week," Rapoport adds. "A fast healer, Barkley will work to miss only one week." We'll look for a more concrete timetable for Barkley's return. Devontae Booker operated as New York's clear lead back after Barkley exited today's game, handling 19 of the 20 RB opportunities.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley was in a walking boot and on crutches after hurting his left ankle in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys. We see this often after a player hurts an ankle, so it doesn't necessarily tell us anything about the severity of the injury. HC Joe Judge said after the game that Barkley got an X-ray on the ankle but gave no other updates. We should learn more tomorrow.
Giants WR Kadarius Toney was ejected in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game after punching Cowboys S Damontae Kazee. The rookie had a monster game before exiting, catching 10 of 13 targets for 189 yards. We'll see if he faces any further discipline from the league.
Chies DL Chris Jones (wrist) is inactive for tonight's game against the Bills. He has been dealing with the injury for multiple games but must have aggravated it against the Eagles in Week 4.
Bills LB Matt Milano (hamstring) is inactive for tonight's game against the Chiefs. That should mean starter-level playing time for A.J. Klein.
Steelers ILB Devin Bush left Sunday's win over the Broncos in the 4th quarter with a groin injury. It's the 2nd time this season Bush has injured his groin. We'll see about the time table for his return. Robert Spillane filled in and would enter the starting lineup if Bush misses further time.
Jaguars LB Myles Jack left Sunday's game against the Titans with a back injury and did not return. We'll watch for Monday updates on his status.
The Chiefs on Saturday activated LB Willie Gay Jr. from IR. He has been out since the end of preseason with a toe injury. Kansas City listed him as questionable for tonight's game against the Bills, and Gay shouldn't be in anyone's IDP plans yet. He has significant upside through the rest of the season, though.
Raiders QB Derek Carr took a shot to the helmet on a QB sneak on the 1st play of the 4th quarter in Sunday's game against the Bears. Carr was able to get off the field under his own power but headed straight to the medical tent. Stay tuned for updates.
Update: Carr re-entered after missing a few plays.
The Giants ruled WR Kenny Golladay out with a knee injury at halftime of Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. It's unclear when the injury happened. We'll update Golladay's status when we know more.
Cardinals RB Maxx Williams suffered a right knee injury in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game against the 49ers. This one looked bad, with Williams taking a helmet directly to the inside of the knee. Stay tuned for updates.
Giants QB Daniel Jones sustained an apparent concussion when he took a big shot late in the 2nd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. He was stumbling as he tried to get off the field. We'll update Jones' status when we know more. QB Mike Glennon is New York's backup.
Update: Jones has been ruled out with a concussion.
Patriots RB Damien Harris suffered chest and rib injuries in today's win over the Texans. He returned from the chest but did not return after hurting his ribs in the 4th quarter. We'll look for updates on his status.
