Chargers RB Kimani Vidal rushed 12 times for 30 yards in Sunday's matchup with Tennessee. Vidal topped No. 2 RB Jaret Patterson in snap share – 72% to 28% – but the carry distribution was much tighter. Vidal led by only 3 attempts in a 7-point road win.

Vidal’s carry share marks a noticeable drop from Week 8, when he recorded a 64% rate vs. the Vikings. That Thursday nighter turned up 23 carries, 117 yards, and 1 score in a blowout win.
On Sunday, Vidal fumbled his only goal line rush attempt (although he did recover it). FB Scott Matlock scored on a two-yard catch on the next play.
Overall, Vidal ranked 28th among 35 qualifying RBs in rush yards over expected per attempt (-0.7, via Next Gen Stats). Interestingly, he ran into a stacked box on 41.7% of his attempts – fifth most in the same sample.
Vidal still projects as the Chargers’ lead back going forward. But as we’ve seen before, this team can just let Justin Herbert take over games and limit ground-game production. Herbert threw for 250 yards and 2 TDs, adding 9-57-1 rushing. He's now hit 30+ rushing yards in four of his past five matchups.
Vidal will be back in play as an RB2 against a hot and (mostly) cold Pittsburgh defense. For now, Patterson is just a deep-league stash.
