Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Texans TE Brevin Jordan (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Chargers. TE Pharaoh Brown and Jordan Akins split pass-catching duties in Jordan’s absence last week. Avoid the situation.
Texans TE Brevin Jordan (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Bears. TE Pharoah Brown (shoulder) is listed as questionable but put in a full practice on Friday and should play. We'll see if TE O.J. Howard gets a bigger role against Chicago, but you should avoid this situation in fantasy lineups.
Texans TE Brevin Jordan (ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He's in danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Bears. TE Pharaoh Brown also missed Thursday's practice with a shoulder issue. Houston might be down to O.J. Howard as its top TE on Sunday.
Texans TE Brevin Jordan (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Broncos. He was listed as questionable after getting in just limited practices on Wednesday and Friday. Jordan isn’t a viable Week 2 fantasy play after running a route on just 58% of pass plays in the opener.
Texans TE Brevin Jordan (ankle) is questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Broncos. He got in limited practices on Wednesday and Friday. Houston reportedly expects Jordan to play, but he wouldn’t have been a recommended fantasy play even at 100% after working in a 3-man TE committee alongside Pharaoh Brown and O.J. Howard in the opener.
Texans TE O.J. Howard caught both of QB Davis Mills' TD passes in Sunday's tie with the Colts. He ran well behind the other 2 TEs in playing time, though. Howard spent just 12 snaps in the game, trailing Brevin Jordan's 40 and Pharaoh Brown's 45. Brown ran 16 routes to Howard's 6, with Jordan leading at 24. It was a great Week 1 for anyone who stashed Howard late in a best-ball draft, but don't consider it a reason to go pick him up.
The Texans signed TE O.J. Howard. Once a promising fantasy prospect, Howard has totaled just 25 catches over the past 2 seasons and couldn't make a Bills team with nothing at TE behind Dawson Knox. We'll keep an eye on him, but Howard isn't a good bet for 2022 fantasy value. Brevin Jordan remains the TE to target in Houston.
Texans WR John Metchie has been diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. "I am currently receiving great medical care, am in good spirits and I expect to make a recovery at a later point in time," Metchie said in a statement. "As a result of this diagnosis, I will likely not be playing football this season. My main focus will be on my health and recovery." We'll keep tabs on Metchie and wish him the best in his recovery. The 2nd-round rookie projected as Houston's slot receiver once recovered from his torn ACL. The Texans are now left with WRs Chris Conley, Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore behind Brandin Cooks and Nico Collins. TE Brevin Jordan might also benefit from Metchie's absence.
The Texans have agreed to a 1-year, $4 million deal to keep TE Pharaoh Brown on the roster. Brown quietly led all Houston TEs with 34 targets last season. We'd still bet on Brevin Jordan 1st among Texans receiving TEs for 2022, but it could be a crowded position group once again. Houston previously re-signed TE Anthony Auclair, but he has served primarily as a blocker.
Texans TE Brevin Jordan (hand) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He put in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday. Jordan has some DFS appeal but shouldn’t be in your redraft plans.
