Derek Carr Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Raiders QB Derek Carr threw for a modest 231 yards in Sunday's win over the Patriots but also tallied 3 TDs. He found WR Mack Hollins, TE Darren Waller and WR Keenan Cole for scores. Waller caught all 3 of his targets for 48 yards in his 1st game since Week 5. Hollins tied WR Davante Adams for the team lead with just 4 receptions. Adams (9) and Hollins (8) were the only 2 Raiders to draw more than 3 targets. Week 16 brings a matchup with Pittsburgh, which hit Sunday as a near-neutral scoring matchup for QBs.

Raiders QB Derek Carr amassed 295 yards and 3 TDs in Sunday's OT win at Seattle. He hit WR Mack Hollins (4-63 receiving), RB Ameer Abdullah (3-39) and TE Foster Moreau (3-33) for TDs. Carr also tossed a pair of INTs, but he has posted his 2 best fantasy scores of the season in his past 2 games.

Raiders QB Derek Carr racked up 307 yards in Sunday's OT win over the Broncos. Carr finished regulation with just 239 yards. But then he hit TE Foster Moreau for a 33-yard catch-and-run and found WR Davante Adams for a 35-yard game-winning TD. It was Carr's 2nd 300-yard game of the season and first since Week 3. Next comes a visit to Seattle, which had been playing tough defense before softening in a Week 10 loss to the Buccaneers in Germany.

Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow has been placed on IR with an oblique injury. He'll miss at least the next 4 games, making Week 14 his earliest possible return. Renfrow has dealt with a few different injuries this season and averaged just 4.8 targets, 3.5 caches and 32 yards across 6 games. He's cuttable in all redraft leagues. Vegas will now be without Renfrow and TE Darren Waller for at least the next 4 weeks, which should push even more value to RB Josh Jacobs and WR Davante Adams. WR Mack Hollins and TE Foster Moreau should also get target boosts. Keelan Cole figures to take over as the #3 WR but isn't worth adding to fantasy rosters.

Raiders WR Davante Adams racked up 10 catches for 146 yards and 2 TDs on 17 targets in Sunday's come-from-ahead loss at Jacksonville. He garnered 47.2% target share, 47.6% of QB Derek Carr's completions, 56.4% of the team's receiving yards and the only 2 TDs. TE Foster Moreau ranked 2nd with 5 targets, catching only 2 for 42 yards. WRs Hunter Renfrow (3-26 receiving) and Mack Hollins (2-17) each drew 4 targets. The Raiders host the Colts in Week 10, a defense that entered Sunday as a near-neutral scoring matchup for fantasy QBs but 4th-toughest on WRs.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs ran for just 43 yards on 10 carries in Sunday's shutout loss at New Orleans. Jacobs added 4 targets but caught only 2 for 11 yards on a dreadful offensive day for Las Vegas. QB Derek Carr threw for only 101 yards, with no TDs and 1 INT before giving way to Jarrett Stidham in garbage time. Jacobs also gave way late in the game to RB Ameer Abdullah, who finished with 5 targets (all in the 2nd half). We're not worried about Jacobs off this outing.

Raiders QB Derek Carr (back) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. He'll be ready to go for this weekend's game vs. New Orleans.

Raiders QB Derek Carr (back) was limited in Wednesday's practice. We've heard nothing to suggest that his availability for Sunday's game vs. the Saints is in question, but we'll keep an eye on him over the next few days.

Raiders WR Davante Adams drew a target on one-third of Las Vegas' pass attempts in Sunday's win over the Texans. He posted an 8-95 receiving line on 9 looks, claiming 38.1% of QB Derek Carr's completions and 39.4% of the receiving yards. WR Hunter Renfrow, TE Foster Moreau and RB Josh Jacobs tied for 2nd on the team with 3 catches apiece. Carr went 21-of-27 passing for 241 yards, 1 TD and no INTs. WR Mack Hollins caught the lone TD, among 2 receptions for 44 yards.

Raiders QB Derek Carr managed only 188 yards and 0 TDs in a Week 4 win over Denver. He tallied only 5.6 yards per attempt but added 40 yards on the ground. In total, this passing game proved highly concentrated, with only 5 players receiving targets. Davante Adams led the way with 9-101 on 13 targets. Look for a fantasy bounce-back Monday at Kansas City, especially if Hunter Renfrow (concussion) is able to return.

Derek Carr tallied 303 yards and a pair of TDs (plus an INT) on 26-of-44 passing (59.1%) in Sunday's loss to the Titans. Carr found Mack Hollins and Davante Adams for scores. RB Josh Jacobs joined them as the only Raiders to catch more than 3 passes. Similar to the first 2 weeks, Carr wound up with solid production on less-than-stellar play. Through 3 games, he ranks just 24th among starters in Pro Football Focus passing grade.

Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. We’ll see if he can get cleared for Week 4. Renfrow’s absence will leave Tyron Johnson and Keelan Cole as Vegas’ #3 and #4 WRs behind Davante Adams and Mack Hollins. Adams and TE Darren Waller should dominate Raiders targets this weekend.

Raiders QB Derek Carr posted an up and down Week 1, completing 22 of 37 passes (59.4%) for 295 yards and 2 scores. He added 3 INTs — and each one was truly on the QB. He underthrew deep balls to Darren Waller and Davante Adams and threw well behind Hunter Renfrow. On the positive side, Adams was every bit of the guy we saw in Green Bay, scoring 1 of Carr’s TDs and hauling in 10 of 17 targets. Carr’s other score came on a nice touch pass to Brandon Bolden. Next up for the 31-year-old is a favorable home draw vs. Arizona.

According to Raiders beat writer Tashan Reed, the Raiders will hold “active competitions” for 4 starting O-line spots. That includes LG, C, RG and RT, with only Kolton Miller locked in at LT. This unit will be under the tutelage of OL coach Carmen Bricillo, formerly with HC Josh McDaniels in New England. The potentially high turnover here is worth monitoring for Derek Carr and the Vegas offense.

The Raiders and QB Derek Carr agreed to a 3-year, $121.5 million contract extension, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That makes Carr the league's 5th-highest-paid QB and keeps him in Vegas through the 2025 season. WR Davante Adams is signed through 2026. Carr has finished between QB13 and QB16 in each of the last 3 seasons and has upside beyond that in 2022.
