Nick Chubb Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said Monday that he's "not ruling out" RB Nick Chubb playing Thursday night against the Broncos, according to ESPN's Jake Trotter. "He's progressing," the coach added. We'll see what happens over the next few days. Make sure you set up insurance if Chubb would be in your fantasy football lineup, though.

According to multiple reports, Browns HC Kevin Stefanski says RB Kareem Hunt will miss at least 3 weeks with the calf injury he suffered in the loss to Arizona. "Hopefully not much longer than that, but we'll see," he said, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. We'll see about Nick Chubb's status for Thursday night's game against Denver. He, of course, missed the Cardinals game with his own calf injury. If Chubb can't go, Cleveland will be down to D'Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton as backfield leaders. That would obviously mean touch-volume upside for both players. Just keep in mind that neither is likely to land in a workhorse role -- and that both are limited talents.

The Browns have ruled RB Nick Chubb out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals because of a calf injury. His absence obviously leaves room for Kareem Hunt to lead the backfield and hit the week as a RB1 across fantasy football formats. Demetric Felton will be involved as well, but he has been more receiver than RB so far, tallying 7 targets vs. 0 rushing attempts over the first 5 games. RB D'Ernest Johnson has logged 0 offensive snaps the past 2 weeks and in 3 of 5 games this year, but he'll likely be involved as well.

Browns RBs Nick Chubb (calf) and Kareem Hunt (knee, wrist) missed their 2nd straight practices on Thursday. This looks like a case of the Browns getting their 2 RBs some mid-week rest, but check back tomorrow for another update on the situation.

The Browns and RB Nick Chubb have agreed “in principle” to a 3-year extension worth $36.6 million, with $20 million guaranteed, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The average money falls right in line with other recent RB extensions and shows we can expect Chubb to remain at the center of Cleveland’s offense for at least the next couple of seasons.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski confirmed that RB Nick Chubb (knee) won't play against the Raiders this weekend. Stefanski added that Chubb is "on schedule" in his rehab and "they'll see" if he's ready to go after the Week 9 bye. We'll continue to monitor his progress. Kareem Hunt gets at least 1 more game as Cleveland's feature back on Sunday.

The Browns are trading RB Carlos Hyde to Jacksonville in exchange for a mid-round draft pick, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. This doesn't bode well for RB Leonard Fournette's return from his hamstring trouble. Hyde joins T.J. Yeldon in the Jaguars backfield for now, although it's unclear if Hyde will be active for this weekend's game against the Texans. Meanwhile, Nick Chubb takes over as the primary ball-carrier in Cleveland. The rookie has flashed in limited chances, averaging 10.8 yards on 16 carries. He immediately jumps into the RB2 mix.

UPDATE: The Browns are receiving a 5th-round pick.
