San Francisco 49ers Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Niners LB Dre Greenlaw (calf) has been cleared to play Sunday night against the Chargers. Greenlaw hasn't played since Week 7, so it's tough to know if he's ready for a full snap allotment. But he'll carry upside if he does. The Chargers have supplied the 5th most fantasy points per game to LBs so far this season.

The 49ers got LB Dre Greenlaw (calf) back for a limited practice Wednesday. He missed the last game (Week 8) with the injury that knocked him out of the loss to the Chiefs. We'll watch to see whether he's ready to return to the lineup this Sunday against the Chargers. DL Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) remained out Wednesday, which doesn't bode well for his chances of playing for the 1st time since Week 4. EDGE Samson Ebukam (quad, Achilles') also didn't practice.

Niners DL Arik Armstead said Monday his return to action is "coming soon," according to NBC Sports Bay Area. Armstead revealed that he has been recovering from a hairline fracture in his left ankle. That plus plantar fasciitis in his left foot have kept him out since Week 4. We'll see whether Armstead is ready for Sunday's game against the Chargers.

The 49ers have ruled LB Dre Greenlaw (calf) and DL Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) out for Sunday's game against the Rams. Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles looks like the fill-in for Greenlaw. Armstead will be missing his 4th straight game.

Niners LB Dre Greenlaw left Sunday's loss to the Chiefs with a right-calf injury and did not return. If he misses further time, the snaps would likely go to Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles. He stepped in for 56% playing time against K.C. LB Azeez Al-Shaair is already on IR with an MCL sprain that's expected to sideline him beyond Week 10.

Niners S Talanoa Hufanga (concussion) and CB Charvarius Ward (groin) are active for today's game against the Chiefs.

Niners S Talanoa Hufanga (concussion) and CB Charvarius Ward (groin) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. DL Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) has been ruled out. It'll be the 3rd straight game he has missed.

Niners EDGE Nick Bosa is off the injury report and ready to play Sunday's game against the Chiefs. S Talanoa Hufanga (concussion) is questionable. He managed just a single limited practice and seems unlikely to play. CB Charvarius Ward (groin) is questionable as well. The 49ers have ruled DL Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) out.

Niners S Talanoa Hufanga entered the concussion protocol Monday. HC Kyle Shanahan said Hufanga passed his concussion test during Sunday's loss to the Falcons, and then another after the game, according to 49ers Webzone. But he then had concussion symptoms Monday morning, and a 3rd test placed him in the protocol. Plan on not having Hufanga available for IDP lineups this week. We'll keep an eye on his status.

Niners EDGE Nick Bosa (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Falcons.

Niners EDGE Nick Bosa (groin) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons. DL Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) and DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) are out. Bosa missed the week's 1st 2 practices after leaving last week's win over the Panthers early. He returned for a limited Friday workout. We'll check his status Sunday.

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan says EDGE Nick Bosa has a groin strain, according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner. He'll be re-evaluated Wednesday, we assume to determine whether Bosa will be ready to practice and/or play this week. We'll watch for further updates, but it continues to sound like a minor injury.

Niners EDGE Nick Bosa left at halftime of Sunday's win over the Panthers with a groin issue. Here's what HC Kyle Shanahan said afterward, according to ESPN.com: "He started feeling it, it was a little tight all day. In the 2nd quarter, you could see him coming off the field. We looked into it at halftime -- he didn't feel like he could go." The team expects to test the injury further on Monday, but it doesn't sound like it's believed to be serious. We'll watch for updates.

The 49ers lost CB Emmanuel Moseley in the 2nd half of Sunday's win over the Panthers to a left knee injury that they fear is an ACL tear, according to Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area. We'll watch for confirmation today. San Francisco also watched S Jimmie Ward break his left hand in his 1st game back of the year (thanks to a hamstring injury). It's not clear yet whether he'll miss further time.

The 49ers have ruled DE Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) and DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) out for Sunday's game against the Panthers. That damages both the run D and pass rush for San Francisco. We'll see, though, whether the Carolina offense can take advantage. We'd still feel comfy using the Niners' team D in fantasy football lineups.

Niners DL Arik Armstead left Monday night's game against the Rams with a foot injury. He has been dealing with plantar fasciitis. We'll see about his status for Week 5.

Niners LB Dre Greenlaw missed Wednesday's practice with an elbow injury. If he can't go Sunday against the Seahawks, then LB Azeez Al-Shaair would likely pick up starter-level snaps.

The 49ers plan to place S Jimmie Ward on short-term IR, and he's expected to miss at least 4 games. GM John Lynch announced the plan Thursday night, for a hamstring injury that HC Kyle Shanahan had previously deemed "significant."
