Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier reached double-digit carries for the second straight game in Sunday's win over the Giants. His 11 attempts in Week 16 marked the first time all year that he reached double digits in consecutive games. Allgeier tallied just 22 yards on the ground, though, and caught his lone target for 9 yards.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson ran for a season-high 116 yards and 2 TDs on 20 carries in Sunday's loss to the Saints. He added 3 receptions for 28 yards on 4 targets.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson racked up 145 total yards on 26 touches in a Week 9 win over Dallas. Robinson snapped a three-game scoring streak but hit 100 total yards for the fourth straight week.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson was added to the injury report and limited in Thursday's practice with a hamstring. He was on last week's injury report with a hamstring before playing vs. the Bucs, but this mid-week addition is worrisome. We'll update Robinson's status on Friday afternoon, if not sooner. His absence would make RB Tyler Allgeier a virtual must-start in fantasy lineups in a great matchup against the Panthers.
The Falcons scored 36 points and produced 550 yards of total offense in Thursday night's win over the Bucs. Surely Bijan Robinson had a big game. Right? Nope. He finished with 77 scoreless yards. Atlanta went pass-heavy in this one, throwing 59 passes vs. 18 runs. Robinson handled 12 of those runs and produced 61 yards (5.1 yards per carry). The highlight was a 28-yarder at the end of the third quarter that included impressive burst and balance. Robinson, though, was not very involved in the passing game. His three targets tied for fifth on the team and were just 5.1% of the Falcons' total. Robinson caught all three for 16 yards.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson was added to the injury report and limited in practice on Thursday with a shoulder. That usually means the player was injured in practice. We'll be on the lookout for more details on Robinson's status and will see how he's listed on Friday's final injury report. Tyler Allgeier would turn into a top-20 fantasy RB if Robinson misses this weekend's game vs. the Saints.
Tyler Allgeier got 9 carries to Bijan Robinson's 14 in Monday night's win over the Eagles. His 10 touches (including a reception on his only target) vs. Robinson's 18 marked a big difference from Week 1. Robinson got the ball 23 times to Allgeier's three against the Steelers. Robinson proved efficient on his Week 2 touches, rushing for 97 yards (6.9 per carry) and catching four of his 5 targets for 25 yards (6.3 per catch). Allgeier produced as well: 9-53 rushing (5.9 per carry) and 12 yards on his lone catch.
Falcons OC Zac Robinson said he'll find "creative ways" to get the ball to RB Bijan Robinson, drawing a comparison to how the 49ers use RB Christian McCaffrey. Zac Robinson never coached McCaffrey -- but he did spend the last five seasons working under Rams HC Sean McVay, whose offense has regularly produced big RB numbers.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson rushed a team-high 12 times for 72 yards in Sunday's win over the Colts. He added team highs in targets (10), receptions (7), and receiving yards (50). That followed his 7-carry, 1-catch Week 15 but marked his fourth game of 19+ touches among the past six contests. Robinson didn't find the end zone, watching RB Tyler Allgeier log the team's only rushing score. That came from 31 yards out, though. Robinson got all four RB opportunities from inside the 10-yard line for the game. That's good. It's less good that Allgeier garnered 9 carries and Cordarrelle Patterson 7 to Robinson's 12. Week 17 takes the Falcons to Chicago to face a defense that ranks third in rush DVOA.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson took a season-high 22 carries for 95 yards (4.3 per rush) and a TD in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. That beat his previous high by 3 carries and marked eight more rushing attempts than he had received in a game since Week 2. Robinson's TD came from 5 yards out, just his third carry from inside the 10-yard line all season -- and his first since Week 6. Tyler Allgeier carried just nine times in a game that found Atlanta leading throughout the first half and the lead going back and forth after the break. Robinson added just one 11-yard catch among 2 targets, but only two teammates drew more targets as Atlanta attempted only 21 passes (vs. 41 rushes). If this signals a change in work split, then Robinson could be a fantasy difference maker the rest of the way. Atlanta now gets a Week 11 bye but faces four strongly positive matchups among the final six games after the bye.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson saw 11 carries for 51 rushing yards and 2 catches for 8 receiving yards in Week 9 vs. the Vikings. Fellow RB Tyler Allgeier was again a thorn in the side of the rookie, tallying 30 total yards and a rushing TD on a combined 14 touches in the contest. Allgeier’s involvement has cut into Robinson’s fantasy scoring lately. Over the past four games, Robinson only accounts for 34% of the Falcons’ RB touch opportunities. With how frustrating this offense is in the hands of HC Arthur Smith, it’s become tougher to project whether or not the former Texas standout is a low-end RB1 or middling RB2 each week. At least Week 10’s showdown vs. the Cardinals (third-easiest RB matchup in adjusted fantasy points allowed) should present a get-right spot for Robinson.
Tyler Allgeier operated as the Falcons' workhorse RB in Tampa Bay on Sunday, with RB Bijan Robinson barely playing due to an illness. Allgeier struggled to get anything going on the ground, totaling just 59 yards on 21 carries. He added 53 yards on three catches, most of that coming on a 46-yard catch and run in the fourth quarter. We'll look for further updates on Robinson but would expect Allgeier to be back in his prior role next week. He averaged 12.5 carries and 1.7 targets over the first six games of the season. Week 8 brings a tough matchup vs. the Titans' ninth-ranked RB defense.
Falcons RB Tyler Allgeier recorded 13 carries for a team-leading 51 rushing yards in Week 6’s loss vs. the Commanders. His rookie teammate Bijan Robinson logged an equal number of carries with 31 rushing yards and roped in 5 of 8 targets for 43 receiving yards as a pass-catcher in the contest. Though the Falcons’ run game wasn’t super effective on Sunday, Robinson’s contributions in the receiving game elevated him to 13 PPR points. Fantasy managers can hope for a better outing in Week 7 vs. the Buccaneers.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson racked up 137 total yards in Sunday’s loss vs. the Jaguars. The rookie showcased his skill set in London with an impressive one-handed snag in the contest while also serving as the lone functional piece of the Atlanta offense. Tyler Allgeier took a back seat in Week 4, only tallying 7 carries for 16 yards and one catch that netted negative yardage. Managers who drafted Bijan should be thrilled to start him again next week vs. the Texans.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (thigh) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars in London. We’ll see how much he mixes in behind RBs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier in his 2023 debut, but Patterson is only an option in one-game DFS contests.
Falcons RBs Bijan Robinson (10-33-0) and Tyler Allgeier (7-12-0) combined for just 55 yards on 17 carries in Sunday's loss to the Lions. Robinson's 11-yarder was the team's longest run of the game. The rookie at least salvaged his fantasy day with four catches on six targets for 27 yards. But it was a surprisingly ineffective day for one of the league's best running games. It's worth noting that Detroit entered Week 3 ranked 13th in run defense DVOA, so perhaps the Lions aren't a matchup to necessarily attack going forward. We're not overly concerned about the Falcons RBs, though. Robinson remains an every-week RB1, while Allgeier is a RB3 or flex that will produce better numbers when Atlanta plays with the lead.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson (thigh) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Lions. Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier will continue to handle 100% of Atlanta’s RB work.
Falcons RB Bijan Robinson recorded 19 attempts for 124 rushing yards in Week 2’s win vs. the Packers. The rookie also added 4 catches on 5 targets for 48 yards as a receiver. Teammate RB Tyler Allgeier also had plenty of involvement, logging 16 carries for 48 rushing yards, but failed to see any involvement in the passing game. Similarly to Week 1, 49.1% of the Falcons’ total yards funneled through their RBs despite QB Desmond Ridder nearly doubling his pass attempts. It’s reasonable to expect Atlanta to continue their ground-and-pound approach again next week vs. the Lions. Both Robinson and Allgeier remain viable fantasy options as long as HC Arthur Smith keeps focuses this offense through the backfield at such a high rate.
Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. He was left off the final injury report, so this is a healthy scratch. It’s good news for RBs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier.
The Falcons are expected to split carries between RBs Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier again vs. the Packers today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "While Bijan Robinson may get the start, he is not going to be a bell cow," Rapoport adds. "This will be evenly divided." That's what we saw in Week 1, with Allgeier actually out-carrying Robinson 15 to 10. The rookie did see six targets, though, finishing with 83 total yards and a score. Robinson's efficiency and passing-game usage keep him in RB1 territory. Allgeier is a RB3 or flex option.
