Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett was added to Thursday's injury report with a hamstring and limited in practice. We don't have any other details, but it looks like Lockett hurt the hamstring in Thursday's practice. Check back tomorrow for an update on his status for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals.
Seahawks QB Geno Smith threw for 320 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's win at Detroit, his 2nd straight game of 320+ yards. Smith again favored D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett, targeting them with a combined 60% of his pass attempts. Metcalf caught 7 of 10 looks for 149 yards. Lockett posted a 6-91 receiving line on 8 targets. TEs Will Dissly and Noah Fant caught the TD passes. Smith gets a tougher matchup in Week 5 (Saints). After that comes a favorable home date with Arizona.
Seahawks QB Geno Smith racked up 325 yards and 2 TDs on 32-of-44 passing in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. Smith threw 52.3% of his pass attempts at WRs D.K. Metcalf (12) or Tyler Lockett (11). No other Seahawk drew more than 4 looks. Lockett posted a 9-76 receiving line. Metcalf caught 5 balls for 64 yards and a TD. The remaining score went to TE Will Dissly.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett mustered only 3 catches for 28 yards in Week 1. He saw 4 targets — tied with TE Noah Fant for 2nd most on the team — but didn’t see any downfield opportunities. In fact, while QB Geno Smith played efficient ball, his average depth of target (aDOT) was a week-low 5.0 yards. At least in the short term, Lockett’s best treated as a WR4.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett has been activated from the COVID list. He should be back for Sunday's game vs. the Bears. Lockett averaged 7 targets, 4.2 catches, 89 yards and .4 TDs in his last 5 outings before missing this past week's game vs. the Rams.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett did not make it back from the COVID list in time to face the Rams tonight. He, RB Alex Collins and CB D.J. Reed are the biggest names who failed to test out and will miss the game. Seattle has elevated RB Josh Johnson from the practice squad to fill a roster spot. D.K. Metcalf should see increased target share, with Freddie Swain and Dee Eskridge expected to join him as the top 3 wideouts.
This week's Seahawks-Rams game has been moved from Sunday to Tuesday, according to multiple reports, as the Rams deal with a rash of COVID positives. This game won't be on the DFS main slate but will still count for Week 15 in season-long leagues. We'll see if RB Darrell Henderson, WR Odell Beckham and WR Tyler Lockett are able to clear COVID protocols in time for the game.
Update: This game will kick off at 7 pm ET on Tuesday.
The Seahawks on Thursday placed WR Tyler Lockett and RB Alex Collins on the COVID list. That almost certainly knocks out both players for Sunday's game against the Rams. Rookie Dee Eskridge and Freddie Swain look like the next 2 WRs up, but each is obviously a giant step down from Lockett. His absence figures to boost D.K. Metcalf's target outlook. Collins' absence takes 1 challenger away from Rashaad Penny in a backfield that remains a little crowded (with Adrian Peterson potentially returning from injury).
The Seahawks placed QB Russell Wilson (finger) on IR. That knocks him out for at least the next 3 games. Seattle then has a Week 9 bye, so Week 10 is the earliest Wilson could return. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport recently called a Week 10 return the "best-case scenario" for Wilson. QB Geno Smith is in line to start the next 3 games vs. Pittsburgh, New Orleans and Jacksonville.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hip) is active for today’s game vs. the 49ers. He was limited in Wednesday's practice, sidelined on Thursday but a full participant on Friday. There have been no reports about a limited role for Lockett today.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hip) is expected to play vs. the 49ers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Lockett was limited in Wednesday's practice, sidelined on Thursday and then a full participant on Friday. He carries a bit more risk than usual but remains a high-upside fantasy play.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the 49ers. He was limited in Wednesday's practice, sidelined on Thursday and then a full participant on Friday. That points to Lockett playing on Sunday, but you'll need to check back that morning to make sure that's the case.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hip) did not practice on Thursday. That followed a limited practice on Wednesday. So Lockett either suffered a setback or got Thursday off. We'll have a better idea of his Week 4 status when Seattle's final injury report comes out Friday afternoon.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He's on the injury report with a hip, rather than the knee it looked like he injured late in last week's loss to the Vikings. Regardless, Lockett seems to be on track to play vs. the 49ers this weekend.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett appeared to injure his knee in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game in Minnesota. He was able to get off the field under his own power. Stay tuned for an update.
Update: Lockett was able to return to the game.
Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett is dealing with a groin injury. He’s been held out of team drills over the past 3 days, per beat writer Gregg Bell. HC Pete Carroll said the team is just being “careful” with the veteran WR. There’s no cause for concern right now; the groin is simply something to monitor.
