Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Browns QB Jameis Winston was benched in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s matchup with Kansas City. Winston tossed three INTs before departing. Dorian Thompson-Robinson took over in his place.
Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Browns. He's officially questionable to return and has been replaced by QB Carson Wentz. With the Chiefs nursing a 14-point lead, we don't expect to see Mahomes back out there. We'll look for further updates on the ankle injury.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Commanders due to a groin injury. We'll update his status when we know more. Kamara's absence leaves Kendre Miller as New Orleans' lead back.
Panthers WR Xavier Legette injured his groin in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. He's officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update on Legette's injury.
Browns RB Nick Chubb suffered a foot injury in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs and will not return. That leaves the backfield to Jerome Ford and Pierre Strong. D'Onta Foreman is a healthy scratch. We'll update Chubb's status when we know more.
Titans QB Will Levis was benched in the third quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. He completed 8 of 12 passes for 89 yards, 0 TDs, and 3 INTs. Levis had been playing reasonably well coming off his shoulder injury but has now had two duds in a row against bad Jaguars and Bengals defense. We'll see if Tennessee goes back to Levis next week or rolls with QB Mason Rudolph. Either way, it's a situation to avoid in fantasy lineups.
Buccaneers WR Sterling Shepard (foot) is active for today’s game vs. the Chargers. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and was listed as questionable, adding risk to a guy who was a low-end PPR option to begin with.
Buccaneers RB Bucky Irving (back, hip) is active for today’s game vs. the Chargers. There was optimism about his status throughout the weekend, but it remains unclear how big a workload he’ll handle today. The Bucs might not even know until they see how Irving’s body is holding up once this game gets going. Consider the rookie a risk/reward fantasy start.
Bills TE Dalton Kincaid (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Lions. It’ll be his first action since Week 10. Kincaid was a full-go in practice all week but listed as questionable, so he’s probably still not at 100%. Throw in the matchup against the league’s top-ranked TE defense and Kincaid is not a recommended TE1 play today.
Chargers WR Ladd McConkey (knee, shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Buccaneers. He remained limited in practice all week and was listed as questionable, so there’s still some elevated risk here. But if you were waiting on McConkey, get him into fantasy lineups against Tampa Bay’s 24th-ranked WR defense.
Colts WR Josh Downs (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Broncos. He practiced all week, including full workouts on Thursday and Friday. The shoulder is less of a concern than QB Anthony Richardson’s play and the matchup against a Broncos defense ranked sixth in adjusted fantasy points allowed to slot receivers.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito sustained a concussion in the first half of Sunday's game vs. the Ravens and won't return. He's been replaced by QB Tim Boyle. The Giants can't get to the offseason quickly enough.
Commanders TE Zach Ertz is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Saints with a head injury. He's presumably being checked for a concussion. We'll update Ertz's status when we learn more.
Update: Ertz is out with a concussion. It's his third documented concussion.
Jets RB Braelon Allen is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars with a back injury. His absence leaves the backfield to Breece Hall and Isaiah Davis.
Update: Allen returned in the third quarter.
Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle suffered an apparent ankle injury when he got rolled up on in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Texans. He hobbled off the field and into the medical tent. We'll update Waddle's status when we know more.
Update: Waddle is officially questionable to return with a knee injury.
Titans RB Tony Pollard is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Bengals with an ankle injury. This is presumably an aggravation of the issue that had him questionable coming in. We'll update Pollard's status when we know more. His absence leaves Tyjae Spears as Tennessee's lead back.
Update: Pollard returned with about five minutes left in the first half.
The Texans get LB Christian Harris back today for the first time this season. He's been out since training camp with a calf strain, allowing Henry To'oTo'o to play in his spot. Harris' return coincides with the first game of LB Azeez Al-Shaair's three-game suspension, though. And that leaves uncertainty around how Houston will allot LB snaps today against the Dolphins.
Titans LB Jerome Baker is inactive for today's game against the Bengals. He carried no injury designation into the weekend, so that indicates the veteran is a healthy scratch.
Commanders K Zane Gonzalez (foot) is inactive for today's game vs. the Saints. He'll be replaced by K Greg Joseph, who was just called up from the practice squad. Joseph made 13 of 16 FG tries for the Giants earlier this season and owns a career 82.5% FG conversion rate. In a plus matchup in New Orleans, Joseph is a fine fantasy play if you were hoping to use Gonzalez.
Browns K Dustin Hopkins is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Chiefs. He's struggled all year, missing nine FGs and two XPs. Hopkins will be replaced by K Riley Patterson, who would be a bad fantasy play with rain and wind expected in Cleveland today.
