Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Saints TE Adam Trautman isn't listed on the Week 1 injury report. He suffered a foot injury in the 2nd preseason game but is ready for this weekend's regular-season opener vs. the Packers. Trautman is a fine bench stash but shouldn't be in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry isn't listed on the Week 1 injury report. He missed all 3 preseason games with a shoulder injury but is ready to go for Sunday's opener vs. the Dolphins. Henry has TE1 potential this season but should be considered a TE2 in his New England debut.

Broncos TE Noah Fant (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He's expected to be available for this weekend's game vs. the Giants, but his status is worth monitoring over the next few days.

Saints WR Tre'Quan Smith isn't listed on the Week 1 injury report. He missed much of August with a leg injury but will be available for Sunday's opener vs. the Packers. Smith should join Marquez Callaway as New Orleans' top 2 WRs -- but we'd try not to use Smith in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Lions WR Tyrell Williams isn't listed on the Week 1 injury report. He missed some time in late August with a groin injury but is ready for this weekend's opener vs. the 49ers. Williams seems set to open the season as Detroit's clear-cut #1 WR.

49ers QB Trey Lance (finger) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. QB Jimmy Garoppolo will start this weekend's opener vs. Detroit, but it remains to be seen if Lance will be ready for a Taysom Hill-esque role behind Garoppolo.

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk (hamstring) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. It's confirmation that he's good to go for Sunday's plus matchup vs. the Lions.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Updates on his status since an ankle injury in Week 2 of the preseason have been sparse, but it looks like he'll be ready for his planned role in Sunday's opener vs. the Browns.

Colts WR Parris Campbell was limited in Wednesday's practice with what NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls a "lingering" Achilles issue. It's reportedly not something that will keep Campbell out of Sunday's opener vs. the Seahawks, but it's certainly a situation to keep tabs on.

Jaguars WRs D.J. Chark (finger) and Marvin Jones (shoulder) aren't even listed on the Week 1 injury report. Both guys are ready to go for Sunday's opener vs. the Texans. They'll join Laviska Shenault as Jacksonville's top 3 WRs.

Titans WR A.J. Brown (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. But a source tells insider Doug Kyed that Brown was just getting a rest day. Check back tomorrow for another update, but Brown can stay penciled into fantasy lineups for now.

Texans K Ka'imi Fairbairn (leg) has landed on short-term IR. He's out at least 3 weeks. Fairbairn will be replaced by Joey Slye, but you should be avoiding Texans kickers in fantasy lineups.

Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (shoulder) put in a full practice on Wednesday. He shouldn't have any limitations in Sunday's opener vs. the 49ers.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (groin) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice. Despite some earlier concern about his Week 1 status, it's starting to look like Swift will be ready for a significant role in Sunday's opener vs. the 49ers.

Giants WR Kenny Golladay (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He hasn't done a whole lot since going down back on August 3. Even if Golladay suits up vs. the Broncos this weekend, he'll be a shaky fantasy play.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. Get used to seeing him listed as "limited." Barring a setback over the next couple of days, Barkley is expected to play agains the Broncos this weekend.

Giants TE Evan Engram (calf) did not practice on Wednesday. He's not expected to play in this weekend's opener vs. the Broncos. TEs Kyle Rudolph (foot) and Kaden Smith (knee) were both limited on Wednesday.

Bills WR Emmanuel Sanders (foot) was limited in Wednesday's practice. The veteran missed a few days of practice in early August with this foot issue, but it shouldn't impact his status for this weekend's opener vs. the Steelers.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin is not listed on the final injury report for Thursday night's opener vs. the Cowboys. He was limited in Tuesday's practice with a quad issue but returned to a full practice on Wednesday. Godwin is a strong fantasy play against a Cowboys defense that ranked 2nd-to-last in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs last year.

Washington WR Curtis Samuel (groin) tried to get loose for practice on Wednesday but ended up working off to the side with a trainer. Here's video of him clearly still struggling with the groin issue that's plagued him since OTAs. HC Ron Rivera told reporters afterward that Samuel admitted "something just didn't feel right." On Samuel's status for Sunday's opener vs. the Chargers, Rivera said, "If Curtis plays, great, and if he doesn't, great, because we have a lot of confidence in the other guys." Samuel shouldn't be in your Week 1 fantasy plans. His absence on Sunday would likely move rookie Dyami Brown into the starting lineup opposite Terry McLaurin, with Adam Humphries in the slot.
