Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny injured his left calf in the 1st half of Sunday's game against the Colts and did not return. HC Pete Carroll said afterward that Penny’s calf was tight and that they decided to hold him out as a precaution. We’ll keep an eye on Seattle’s #2 RB this coming week.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said after today's win over the Lions that RB Raheem Mostert is not dealing with an ACL injury. Shanahan didn’t have any other information. We should learn more tomorrow.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport hears that Washington believes QB Ryan Fitzpatrick suffered a hip subluxation in today's loss to the Chargers. He’ll undergo an MRI on Monday to get a better look at the damage. QB Taylor Heinicke was solid in relief of Fitzpatrick, completing 11 of 15 passes for 122 yards and a score. Heinicke added 17 yards on 3 carries.

Bears DT Eddie Goldman (knee, ankle) is inactive for tonight's game against the Rams. He hit the day doubtful, so this was expected. The 4 defensive starters who turned up questionable are all active for the game: OLB Khalil Mack (groin), S Tashaun Gipson (back), OLB Robert Quinn (back) and S Eddie Jackson (wrist).

Bears WR Darnell Mooney (back) is active for tonight’s game against the Rams. He put in a full practice on Friday, so we’re not overly concerned about the back. But the matchup vs. a tough Rams secondary leaves Mooney as a low-floor Week 1 fantasy play.

Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy injured his right leg in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's opener vs. the Giants. He was able to get up but was eventually carted back to the locker room. We'll update Jeudy's status when we know more.

Update: X-rays on Jeudy's ankle came back negative, and the team believes he's dealing with a high-ankle sprain. We should get a better idea of how long Jeudy will be out on Monday.

The Lions fear CB Jeff Okudah suffered an Achilles' tendon tear in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. He'll have an MRI Monday to confirm the diagnosis. Losing Okudah would leave a defense that allowed 442 yards to San Francisco -- 311 passing -- without its top cover man. Okudah was the #3 overall pick in the 2020 draft but has dealt with multiple injuries in his young career.

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk finished without a single target in Sunday's opener vs. the Lions. We're still waiting for final snap counts but believe Aiyuk was 3rd or 4th among 49ers WRs in snaps. HC Kyle Shanahan said after the win that Aiyuk's late-August hamstring injury played a part in the reduced role today. We'll keep an eye on this situation, but Aiyuk will be impossible to trust in Week 2 fantasy lineups.

Browns S Ronnie Harrison got ejected in the 1st quarter of Sunday's opener against the Chiefs. He stepped on a K.C. player who was on the ground and then hit a Chiefs coach in the chest. (The 2nd move was likely what got him booted.) We'll see whether Harrison faces any further missed time.

Patriots CB Jalen Mills (ankle) is active for today's game against the Dolphins, despite entering the day questionable.

Giants CB Adoree' Jackson (ankle) is active for today's game against the Broncos, giving the team its new starting duo for the matchup with Denver WRs Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton.

Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Giants. Malik Reed figures to pick up the most snaps in Chubb's absence.

Saints CB Marshon Lattimore (knee) is active for today’s game against the Packers

Packers OLB Za’Darius Smith is active for today’s game against the Saints. He entered questionable with a back issue and could be limited. But there’s IDP upside for the pass rusher vs. Jamie’s Winston

Browns K Chase McLaughlin (hamstring) is active for today’s game against the Chiefs. We’d still opt for a healthier option for Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Chiefs DE Frank Clark (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game against the Browns

Eagles TE Zach Ertz is questionable to return to Sunday’s game against Atlanta with a hamstring injury. Ertz caught 2 of 2 targets for 34 yards before departing.

Update: Ertz later returned to the game.

Patriots WR Nelson Agholor (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Dolphins. He only got in 2 limited practices this week, so he figures to be operating at less than 100%. Agholor isn’t a recommended Week 1 fantasy starter.

Browns S Ronnie Harrison (ankle) and DE Jadeveon Clowney (illness) are active for today’s game against the Chiefs

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (knee) is officially active for today’s opener against the Broncos. It’ll be his first game action since tearing his ACL last September 20. Barkley came off the PUP list on August 9 but didn’t take contact in practice until 10 days ago. He remained limited in practice this week. And NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported this morning that Barkley will be "eased in" and "used sparingly” today. It’s unclear exactly what that means for his workload — but don’t expect a full-go Barkley.
