Week 6 DraftKings Tournament Picks

Stacks

Dak Prescott ($6,700) + CeeDee Lamb ($8,600) + Jalen Tolbert ($5,000) OR Jake Ferguson ($5,000)

This should be a pass-heavy game for Prescott and the Cowboys. They’re three-point underdogs to a pass-funnel Detroit defense. The Lions rank second in pass rate over expected against – meaning teams are opting to throw against them. They’ve faced the second-fewest RB carries per game and the third-most pass attempts per game.

As a result, the Lions rank 20th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs and 26th against WRs.

Prescott got off to a slow start this season. But he’s coming off his best outing of the season, throwing for 352 yards and two scores on 8.4 yards per attempt on the road against a tough Steelers defense.

Prescott is now back at home, where he had four games of 299+ yards and 3+ TDs last year.

Lamb is also off to a slow start – but this sets up as a prime get-right spot. On top of ranking 26th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs, the Lions have also coughed up the second most yards per game to opposing No. 1 WRs (93.3).

If Prescott hits as a tournament-winning QB, it’s likely coming on a game with 300+ yards and 3+ TDs. So it makes sense to double stack him.

Ferguson is the safe bet. He ranks top five among TEs in targets (30), catches (22), and yards (229), despite missing a game. The Lions rank 12th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to TEs through five weeks, but there’s nothing scary about Ferguson’s individual matchup.

You can also use Tolbert on Cowboys stacks. With WR Brandin Cooks out last week, Tolbert set season highs with an 89% route rate and 24% target share, producing a 7-87-1 line. Cooks is out again this week, so Tolbert should have a big role in this likely shootout.

Jalen Hurts ($7,200) + A.J. Brown ($7,800)

Ownership is congregating this week is on Lamar Jackson, Jayden Daniels, and Dak Prescott. Hurts is flying under the radar. The same Hurts who was a consensus top-two fantasy QB in drafts less than two months ago.

Hurts bombed last time out against the Bucs. But he was missing WR A.J. Brown, WR DeVonta Smith, and RT Lane Johnson.

All three guys are back for this Sunday’s game against the Browns, giving this Eagles offense as much upside as any on the main slate.

Since Hurts derives a big chunk of his fantasy value from his legs, I usually prefer single-stacking him in tournaments. Brown looks like the play over Smith this week based on the matchup.

Per Fantasy Points Data, Cleveland leads in league in single-high coverage (76.2%). Brown has averaged a massive 3.81 yards per route against single-high coverage since the start of 2023.

• Lamar Jackson ($7,800) + Zay Flowers ($6,500)
• Kirk Cousins ($6,200) + Drake London ($6,700) + Darnell Mooney ($5,300)
• Will Levis ($4,800) + Calvin Ridley ($5,700)

Running Backs

This is a “don’t-get-fancy” week at RB. There are a few excellent plays at every price level. Outside of very large-field tournaments, I wouldn’t stray from this pool of RBs.

Derrick Henry, Ravens ($8,000)

Henry is a sharp tournament play for two reasons:

1. He’s in a smash spot as a 6.5-point home favorite with a slate-high 29.25-point implied total vs. a Commanders defense getting gashed for 5.3 yards per carry by RBs.
2. He’s leverage off a popular Lamar Jackson. Every TD Henry scores is a TD Jackson isn’t scoring.

Henry is surprisingly projected for just 9% ownership.

David Montgomery, Lions ($6,500)

On paper, the Lions should obliterate the Cowboys on the ground this weekend.

Dallas comes into Week 6 ranked:

• 32nd in EPA allowed per rush
• 31st in run defense DVOA
• 29th in rushing success rate allowed
• 23rd in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs

On top of that, they’ll be missing front-seven starters Micah Parsons, Demarcus Lawrence, and Eric Kendricks on Sunday.

RB Jahmyr Gibbs is a strong play, too. He theoretically has more upside than Montgomery thanks to his big-play ability and pass-catching skills. 

But Montgomery has nine more carries than Gibbs and just four fewer targets so far this season. He also leads six to five in carries inside the five-yard line.

Plus, Montgomery is projected for 6% ownership vs. Gibbs at 9%.

• Josh Jacobs, Packers ($6,700)
• Bijan Robinson, Falcons ($6,600)
• Chuba Hubbard, Panthers ($6,300)

• Antonio Gibson, Patriots ($5,300)

Wide Receivers

Tank Dell, Texans ($6,200)

Dell has been one of the bigger busts in fantasy football so far this season, averaging only 3.3 catches and 34 yards per game. His target share, average target depth, catch rate, and yards per catch are all down from 2023.

It’s certainly possible that Dell still isn’t back to 100% after breaking his fibula last December and being shot in April. But it’s also worth noting that he still ranks 15th among 72 qualifying WRs in ESPN’s Open Score.

Dell has a prime opportunity to get rolling this weekend. WR Nico Collins, who averaged a team-high 10.8 targets over the first four games of the season, is out. And Dell gets a Patriots defense that sits 28th in pass defense DVOA. 

Remember that Dell topped 28 DK points in three of 10 games last year.

Ja’Lynn Polk, Patriots ($3,600)

Here’s my favorite punt play of the week.

Polk’s usage is on the rise. He’s registered 87% and 97% route rates over the past two weeks and drawn 22% and 18% target shares.

It hasn’t led to fantasy points because New England’s passing game was inept with QB Jacoby Brissett. It might continue to struggle with QB Drake Maye. But the first-round rookie at least gives this offense some upside.

Polk gets a Texans defense this weekend that ranks a middling 17th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs and will be without starting CB Kamari Lassiter, who ranks 15th among 98 qualifying CBs in passer rating allowed in coverage.

• Xavier Hutchinson, Texans ($3,300)

Tight Ends

Brock Bowers, Raiders ($6,000)

Trey McBride, Cardinals ($5,700)

Jake Ferguson projects to be easily the highest-owned TE on the slate. And rightfully so. He’s the top value at the position according to our projections.

But it also gives us an opportunity to get Bowers and McBride at low ownership on rosters that aren’t stacking the Cowboys. Both guys have just as much upside as Ferguson, if not more.

Bowers has drawn 15 targets on a 25% share with WR Davante Adams out the past two weeks. Now WR Jakobi Meyers, who leads Vegas with 19 targets over the last two games, is also out. Bowers could see double-digit targets on Sunday against the Steelers’ 32nd-ranked TE defense.

McBride is averaging 7.5 targets per game on a 26% share in his four games this season. He’s in a nice spot this weekend with his Cardinals 5.5-point underdogs in a game with a 47.5-point over/under. The Packers rank 27th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to TEs.
