Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw for 179 yards and 4 TDs in Sunday's win over the Giants. He added 22 yards on four rushes. The yardage marked a dip vs. Hurts' previous three games, but it came on a season-low 20 pass attempts. His 8.95 yards per pass attempt was his second-best rate of the year. Hurts' 75% completion rate was his third-best of the season. And it all came, of course, without WR A.J. Brown, who was inactive with a hamstring injury. Hurts did get fortunate to not officially lose a fumble when officials ruled him down on a "Tush Push" conversion early in the second quarter. (It should have been a fumble.)
What They're Saying
Hurts on embattled OC Kevin Patullo: "I think he's gained confidence and gained assurance in what he sees and what he believes as time has gone on. I look at how are we helping him? Are we playing penalty free? Are we mastering the things that take no talent? Are we getting in and out of the huddle? The little things that can help all of us and help the play caller find a rhythm in what he does. ... We just wanna continue to build, and he's been rollin'."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
It's been overshadowed a bit by some overall offensive struggles early this season, but Hurts is putting together a nice season.
He's working on career bests in:
- completion rate
- TD rate
- INT rate
- passer rating
And according to John Clark of NBC Sports Philly, Hurts leads the league in TD-to-turnover ratio.
The positive post-game words from Hurts and other teammates on Patullo are notable. This marked the third straight week the Eagles set a season high in total yards.
After a Week 9 bye comes the two toughest remaining defenses on the schedule: Green Bay and Detroit. They currently rank seventh and first in total DVOA, respectively; fifth and third in pass DVOA.
Neither has been a negative matchup for QB scoring, though.
Including those weeks, Hurts gets the fourth-friendliest remaining schedule for QB scoring.
