The Saints are set to sign TE Chris Herndon, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Herndon flamed out with the Jets and then caught just 4 balls for the Vikings last year. New Orleans' TE depth start is a bit fluid with Adam Trautman and Taysom Hill at the top, but we'd still consider Herndon a long shot to earn a significant role.

We'll see how league-hosting sites elect to treat Hill in 2022. We wouldn't bet on him attaining regular fantasy relevance at any position, though -- barring an injury to Winston and return to starting QB. Adam Trautman should be the team's lead TE.

He's 1 of the best offensive minds in the game, so this is a big loss for guys like RB Alvin Kamara and WR Michael Thomas. We're also curious to see what the new coaching staff's plans are for Taysom Hill.
Saints HC Sean Payton said Monday that QB Taysom Hill will have 2 surgeries to repair the Lisfranc injury in his left foot. The 1st procedure will repair the injury with a piece of hardware; the 2nd will be later to remove that hardware. Payton didn't have a projected timeline for recovery for Hill. But, based on the fact that Hill needs 2 surgeries, former NFL head team Dr. David Chao expects him to be sidelined for 6-9 months. The long end of that timetable would threaten his availability for the start of the 2022 campaign. We'll monitor Hill's rehab this offseason.

Book is only in play for DFS showdown contests. Expect a heavy dose of RBs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram on Monday night.

Siemian has racked up some numbers in garbage time over the last 4 weeks but has been largely underwhelming and failed to secure a win. Hill is probably an upgrade as a passer and, of course, adds a ton of value with his legs. On the fantasy side, Hill finished as a top 13 scorer in all 4 of his starts last season, averaging 52.3 yards and 1 TD on the ground per game. He'll be in the Week 13 QB1 mix if he's confirmed as New Orleans' starter.
