Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Saints HC Dennis Allen said Thursday that TE Taysom Hill has been diagnosed with "rib fractures." Allen didn't give a timeline for Hill's return, but we imagine he'll miss multiple games.
Saints TE Taysom Hill scored two rushing TDs against the Falcons just two weeks after suffering a bruised lung. He ran six times for 24 yards. Hill was a significant part of the Saints' red zone packages and was effective between the tackles running the ball.
Saints TE Taysom Hill is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. Falcons with an abdomen injury. He carried six times for 24 yards and two TDs in the first half. We'll update Hill's status when we know more.
Update: Hill has been ruled out.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (chest) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Falcons. With RB Alvin Kamara and WR Chris Olave banged up, Hill could take on an expanded role. He’s in play as a Week 4 spot starter at TE, particularly in half-PPR and non-PPR leagues.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara did not practice on Wednesday. He's dealing with a hip pointer and rib injury, HC Dennis Allen said. Kamara was able to play through the issues in the Week 3 loss to the Eagles but shouldn't be considered a lock to play vs. the Falcons on Sunday.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (chest) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Eagles. He’s totaled eight carries vs. just three targets this season, so his absence gives the biggest boost to RB Alvin Kamara.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (chest) has been downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. He should be out of all Week 3 fantasy lineups. Hill has played 57% of his snaps in the backfield this season, totaling eight carries and three targets. His absence is a bigger boost to New Orleans' RBs than pass-catchers.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (chest) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Eagles. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. We'll get New Orleans' inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. But Hill would be tough to trust in any fantasy lineup at less than 100%.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (chest) did not practice on Wednesday. HC Dennis Allen said Hill will hopefully be able to get in a limited practice on Thursday, which suggests he has a chance to play vs. the Eagles this weekend. We'll keep tabs on Hill's progress over the next few days.
Saints TE Taysom Hill suffered a chest injury in Sunday's win over the Cowboys and did not return. He carried three times for 18 yards and caught his only target for one yard before exiting. We'll look for an update on Hill's injury.
The Saints on Tuesday activated TE Juwan Johnson from the physically unable to perform list. He had foot surgery in June and had been rehabbing since. But Johnson returns to the field with more than two weeks to prepare for the regular-season opener.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler writes that the Saints are "leaning into the Taysom Hill experience." Hill has been practicing at five different positions in new OC Klint Kubiak's offense: QB, RB, FB, WR, and TE.
Nick Underhill of Saints.football reports that Saints TE Juwan Johnson "suffered a lower leg injury and is expected to miss a good amount of time." We'll watch for more specifics on the injury, but that sounds pretty ominous. Underhill did add that he hasn't heard that Johnson will be sidelined into the regular season.
Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Johnson will undergo foot surgery. He's expected to be sidelined “a while," Schefter adds, but "the hope and belief for now is that he will be back for the start of the season."
There's a definite drumbeat starting over Saints utilityman Taysom Hill getting more work in the 2024 offense. Hill says new OC Klint Kubiak has brought a "really clear, distinct vision" for the offense, which has included new stuff. "It's weird to say after seven years of doing what I've been doing, that I'm being asked to do things that I've never done before. But I think that is exciting," he said this week, according to ESPN's Katherine Terrell.
Klint Kubiak is expected to be named the Saints' new OC, according to multiple reports. Kubiak is currently the 49ers' passing-game coordinator, so the move can't become official until after the Super Bowl. The 36-year-old son of Gary Kubiak has 10 seasons of NFL coaching experience. That includes serving as Vikings OC back in 2021. That team ranked 12th in total yards and 14th in points, ranking near the middle of the pack in run/pass split.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter both call Saints WR Chris Olave (ankle) a game-time decision for today's meeting with the Giants. But Rapoport adds that "there is not a lot of optimism that he can go." That's not a surprise after Olave missed practice all week. With WR Michael Thomas still on IR, Olave's absence would leave Rashid Shaheed as the best fantasy bet in New Orleans' WR corps. A.T. Perry, Lynn Bowden, Keith Kirkwood, and Marquez Callaway would round out the group. Olave's absence could also mean bigger roles for TE Taysom Hill and RB Alvin Kamara in the passing game. We've removed Olave from the Week 15 Rankings and updated Saints projections.
Saints TE Taysom Hill (foot, left hand) is not listed on the final Week 15 injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Giants after putting in a full practice on Friday. Hill remains a high-upside option in fantasy leagues where he’s TE-eligible.
