Tua Tagovailoa Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel conceded Monday that QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is not in the team's Week 18 plans. QB Teddy Bridgewater dislocated his right pinkie in the loss to the Patriots, which seemingly makes QB Skylar Thompson the favorite to start Sunday's must-win game vs. the Jets.

Dolphins QB Teddy Bridgewater is believed to have a broken finger on his right hand, according to Pro Football Talk. PFT's Mike Florio said on the Sunday Night Football pregame show that QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is not expected to be cleared for Week 18. That means it'll likely be Skylar Thompson under center in next Sunday's must-win game vs. the Jets.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) didn't practice all week and is out for Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. No surprise there considering the multiple concussions Tagovailoa has sustained this year. QB Teddy Bridgewater will make his first start of the season in New England. He's averaged a big 8.7 yards on 60 attempts in spot duty and should at least be able to support WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as fantasy starters.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel announced Wednesday that QB Teddy Bridgewater will start Sunday against the Patriots. He also confirmed that QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered a concussion in last week's loss to the Packers. It's the 3rd concussion of the season for Tagovailoa, which makes it fair to wonder whether the starter will make it back for Week 18. We'll see about everything beyond this week. Bridgewater got 2 other games of prominent duty this year, throwing 3 TDs and 3 INTs in portions of games against the Bengals and Vikings. He sits in QB2 range in our Week 17 fantasy football rankings.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is in the concussion protocol. Per HC Mike McDaniel, “nobody recognized anything with regard to” a hit during Sunday’s game. Tua simply met with doctors and reported symptoms. Unfortunately, we might be looking at a Teddy Bridgewater start in Week 17 at New England.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa wound up with 310 yards and a TD in Sunday's loss to the Packers, but his performance proved much worse than that. Nearly half of those yards came on 2 completions: an 84-yard TD to WR Jaylen Waddle and 52-yarder to Tyreek Hill. Tagovailoa went just 16 for 25 overall and tossed 3 INTs -- the last of which sealing the defeat on Miami's final possession. The 3rd-year QB's performance has dipped over the current 4-game losing streak. He entered Sunday's game off just 49.5% completions over his previous 3. Tagovailoa will make for a risk-reward option at New England in Week 17. He currently sits just inside the top 12 of our Week 17 QB rankings but is not a lock to stay there.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa threw for 234 yards and 2 TDs in Saturday night's loss at Buffalo. He took just 2 sacks but completed a mere 17 of 30 passes (56.7%). Tagovailoa hit WR Tyreek Hill from 20 yards out and WR Jaylen Waddle for a 67-yard score. Miami gets the Packers at home in Week 16.

The forecast for tonight's Dolphins-Bills game calls for temperatures in the mid-20s and potentially heavy snow. If there's good news, it's that winds are expected to be manageable: 5-10 mph sustained with gusts of 10-15 mph. These are still less-than-ideal conditions for the passing and kicking games, though. We've made some adjustments to our projections for this game. Check out the updated rankings.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ankle) is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday night’s game vs. the Chargers. He put in a full practice on Friday, and HC Mike McDaniel said afterward that Tagovailoa’s ankle won’t be an issue on Sunday.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ankle) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. He's fully expected to start Sunday night's game vs. the Chargers, but we'll continue to monitor his status over the next few days.

The ankle injury that Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa suffered late in Sunday's loss to the 49ers is not believed to be significant, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Tagovailoa reportedly could have re-entered the game and is expected to start next weekend's game vs. the Chargers, Pelissero adds. We'll keep an eye on Tua's practice participation this coming week, but it sounds like he'll be available for Week 14 fantasy lineups.
