Tua Tagovailoa Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel said Monday that QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion) is not ready for football activities yet. “I’m not really thinking about his timeline, as I’ve said before,” McDaniel said. “We’re just trying to get him as healthy as possible. We’re pretty much in a 12 to 24-hour reoccurring evaluation process. He’s doing well.” Tagovailoa seems like a long shot for Week 6 and might be out beyond that.

As expected, Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (concussion, back, ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Jets. He might be out for a while. QB Teddy Bridgewater draws the start this weekend and has some spot-start appeal in the plus matchup, as long as WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle play.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel told reporters Monday that QB Tua Tagovailoa will miss the Week 5 game against the Jets and that he has no specific return timeline yet. The QB, of course, is in the league concussion protocol after leaving Thursday night's game on a stretcher. We'll watch for more on his situation. Teddy Bridgewater takes over the high-upside passing game in the meantime.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel confirmed after Thursday night's loss to the Bengals that QB Tua Tagovailoa is in the concussion protocol. We'll see if he has any other injuries beyond that. Miami's next game is in 10 days vs. the Jets. QB Teddy Bridgewater played well in relief of Tagovailoa in Cincinnati, completing 14 of 23 passes for 193 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT in a little over 1 half of action.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa exited in the 2nd quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Bengals after being slammed to the turf by Bengals DL Josh Tupou. He was taken off the field by a stretcher. We'll update Tua's status when we know more. QB Teddy Bridgewater will take over for Miami.

Update: Tagovailoa has been ruled out with head and neck injuries and is being transported to a hospital.

Update: According to the Amazon Prime broadcast crew, Tagovailoa is expected to be discharged from the hospital tonight and travel back to Miami with the team.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (back, ankle) is active for tonight's game against the Bengals. There's added risk with the 2 injuries involved here, but Tagovailoa still sits inside the top 10 of our QB rankings for the week.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (back, ankle) is expected to play vs. the Bengals tonight, "barring a setback," according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. It's safe to assume that Tua won't be at 100%, though, adding some risk to his Week 4 fantasy profile. Pelissero also confirms that WR Jaylen Waddle (groin) "should be good to go" for tonight.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ankle, back) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Bengals. He got in limited practices on Tuesday and Wednesday. HC Mike McDaniel said Tuesday that he was "optimistic" Tua would be able to play, so we're tentatively projecting him in. We'll get Miami's inactives around 7 pm ET tomorrow.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel called QB Tua Tagovailoa (back, ankle) "questionable" for Thursday night's game vs. the Bengals but added that he's "optimistic" his QB will be able to play. The short week is doing Tagovailoa no favors. We'll see what he does in practice today and tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report Wednesday afternoon.

The Dolphins estimated their 1st practice report of the week Monday, ahead of Thursday night's visit to Cincinnati. That included listing QB Tua Tagovailoa as a non-participant. HC Mike McDaniel says the QB is dealing with soreness in his back and ankle and that they were awaiting further test results Monday. Tagovailoa did return to Sunday's game after leaving for a concussion check -- what NFL Network's Ian Rapoport later reported as more of a neck/back injury -- but we'll see about his availability for Thursday.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa left late in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. the Bills for a concussion check. His head slammed on the turf, and Tua was woozy when he got up. We'll update his status when we know more. QB Teddy Bridgewater has entered for Miami.

Update: Tagovailoa cleared concussion protocol and returned for the start of the 2nd half.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa delivered a stat line Sunday that belongs in the old WAC college football conference: 36-of-50 passing, 469 yards, 6 TDs and 2 INTs. He hit WR Tyreek Hill for an 11-190-2 line on 13 targets and WR Jaylen Waddle for 11-171-2 on 19 looks. Tagovailoa also connected with TE Mike Gesicki and WR River Cracraft for TDs. Hill and Waddled combined for 64% of the QB's targets for the game. We obviously can't expect numbers this large on a regular basis -- or maybe ever again -- but it's nice to see ultimate ceiling from the Miami passer. And the lead duo at WR have combined for more than 50% of Dolphins targets in each game so far.

The Dolphins fired HC Brian Flores. This one was not expected. Flores lasted 3 seasons in Miami, compiling a 24-25 record. He won 19 games over the past 2 years, though, and seemed to have the Fins heading in the right direction. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Miami is retaining GM Chris Grier. "A power struggle in Miami," Rapoport tweeted. We'll see where the Dolphins go at HC.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (finger) is not listed on the final injury report. He was a full-go in practice on both Thursday and Friday. That finger should be close to 100% this week, making Tua a viable fantasy spot starter in a plus matchup vs. the Jets.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (finger) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. That makes him easier to trust in this weekend's plus matchup vs. the Jets.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (finger) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He's on track to start vs. the Jets this weekend after playing well in relief of QB Jacoby Brissett Thursday night. But it'd be nice to see Tua get in a full practice or 2 this week.

Dolphins HC Brian Flores named QB Tua Tagovailoa his Week 11 starter on Monday. Tagovailoa replaced QB Jacoby Brissett in the 3rd quarter of Thursday night's game and didn't seem bothered by that small fracture in his right middle finger, completing 8 of 13 passes for 158 yards. We'll keep an eye on his practice participation level this week, but Tua gets a nice matchup on Sunday vs. the Jets' bottom-5 pass defense.

Dolphins QB Jacoby Brissett injured his right knee in the 3rd quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Ravens. That's forced QB Tua Tagovailoa onto the field, despite his left finger injury. We'll update Brissett's status when we know more.

Update: Brissett has been cleared to return, according to the NFL Network broadcast crew, but Tagovailoa is in the game.

Dolphins QB Jacoby Brissett will start tonight's game vs. the Ravens, NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reports. QB Tua Tagovailoa will be active as the backup, as he continues to deal with that fracture to the middle finger of his throwing hand. Wolfe adds that the Dolphins "hope" Tagovailoa will be back for next week's game vs. the Jets. Brissett is a lower-end QB2 in Week 10 fantasy lineups.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (finger) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Ravens. He'll be a game-time decision. "Plan is to make a decision on where Tua’s grip, discomfort and ability to make every throw is after pregame workout," NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe tweeted. QB Jacoby Brissett will start if Tua can't. Both guys are only in play in 2-QB fantasy leagues.
