Geno Smith Not Expected To Play Week 15

Raiders QB Geno Smith (shoulder) won't practice on Wednesday and is considered "unlikely" to play vs. the Eagles this weekend, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That'll put QB Kenny Pickett under center for Vegas. He went 8-of-11 for 97 yards and a score in relief of Smith last week but owns a career 62.5% completion rate and 6.3 yards-per-attempt average. Smith has been mostly bad for the Raiders this year, but don't expect Pickett to be a tangible upgrade. Vegas is implied for a week-low 13.25 points in Philadelphia.

Drake London Out For Week 15

Falcons WR Drake London (knee) is out for Thursday night's game vs. the Buccaneers. HC Raheem Morris has been calling London "day to day" for two weeks now, but he's yet to return to practice. We wouldn't consider London a lock to make it back for Week 16. TE Kyle Pitts has been the top dog in Atlanta's passing game with London out the last three weeks, totaling 23 targets, 15 catches, and 197 yards. WR Darnell Mooney has totaled just 12 targets, six catches, 105 yards, and one TD over that stretch.

        Breece Hall Sidelined Wednesday

Jets RB Breece Hall (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt says Hall is dealing with "knee soreness." It sounds like there's still a good chance Hall is able to play vs. the Jaguars this weekend, but we'll keep you updated on his status. Hall's absence would leave RB Isaiah Davis in a high-volume role.

        Tee Higgins Will Practice Wednesday

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (concussion) will get in a limited practice on Wednesday, HC Zac Taylor said. It's surprising after Higgins entered the protocol for the second time in the last three weeks. We still wouldn't be counting on him to play vs. the Ravens on Sunday, but it's at least now a possibility. We'll update Higgins' status again tomorrow.

Tyrod Taylor And Justin Fields Out Wednesday

Jets QBs Tyrod Taylor (groin) and Justin Fields (knee) won't practice on Wednesday, HC Aaron Glenn said. They'll be evaluated later this week. QB Brady Cook will get the first-team reps on Wednesday and is the favorite to start this weekend's game vs. the Jaguars. Cook was abysmal last week, completing 47% of his passes at 5.4 yards per attempt against a beatable Dolphins pass defense. RB Breece Hall is the only viable fantasy starter in this offense -- and he's not even a comfortable play with Cook.

Jayden Daniels Out For Week 15

Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) won't play against the Giants this weekend, HC Dan Quinn said Wednesday. ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that there's no new structural damage to Daniels' left elbow and that he'll be re-evaluated next week. We remain skeptical that we'll see Daniels again this season, but we'll keep you updated on his status. QB Marcus Mariota gets another start on Sunday and is a fringe QB1 option. Mariota has finished as a top-13 fantasy QB in four of his six starts this year, including each of the last three.

Cade Otton Doubtful For Week 15

Buccaneers TE Cade Otton (knee) is doubtful for Thursday night's game against the Falcons. He's averaged 5.1 targets per game this season, although that's sunk to 3.0 over the last two games with WR Chris Godwin ramping up. Otton will be replaced by some combination of TEs Payne Durham and Devin Culp, but neither is a fantasy option. Expect more targets to be funneled to the WRs and RBs.

Mike Evans Likely Back For Week 15

Buccaneers HC Todd Bowles said Wednesday morning that WR Mike Evans (collarbone) has shown everything he's needed to show in practice to be activated for Thursday night's game vs. the Falcons. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report later today, but we're now projecting Evans to play in this one. OC Josh Grizzard said last week that Evans would likely be on a snap count in his first game back, so don't expect his usual level of playing time against Atlanta. That said, we'd expect to see him on the field in high-leverage situations, particularly near the end zone. You'd ideally wait a week before getting Evans back in fantasy lineups, but he's at least in the WR3/4 mix based on his TD upside. Consider Evans' return a slight ding to WR Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin's outlooks.

Philip Rivers Signs to the Colts Practice Squad

        6:32pm UTC 12/9/25

The Indianapolis Colts have signed veteran QB Philip Rivers to their practice squad. With QB Riley Leonard week-to-week with a knee injury, Rivers bolsters the QB depth in case he is needed. He will compete with QB Brett Rypien, also on the practice squad, for the back-up job. But, it isn’t out of the question for Rivers to start at some point with the Colts trying to claw their way into the playoffs.

Hampton rushed 13 times vs. 14 for Kimani Vidal, who officially got the start. Hampton also edged Vidal 2-1 in catches, though Vidal led the backfield in targets and routes. His 23 routes marked a 56% rate vs. total Chargers dropbacks and beat Hampton by 15. Vidal took his lone catch for 60 yards and gained 44 yards on his 14 rushes (3.1 per carry).

Justin Herbert's Numbers Lie About One Thing

        2:53pm UTC 12/9/25

The Chargers went understandably run heavy in Monday night's OT win over the Eagles. They had QB Justin Herbert just a week removed from surgery for a fracture in his left hand, plus they got rookie RB Omarion Hampton back for the first time since Week 5 (ankle injury). But the final tally of 38 team rushes to just 26 pass attempts obscures the true play breakdown. Herbert ran a season-high 10 times for the game, but that included a season-high eight scrambles vs. just two designed runs. Those designed rushes didn't come until the Chargers' final possession of regulation and then their first of OT. And that fourth-quarter carry was actually designed to go to Vidal. Herbert decided to keep it after seeing a pair of defenders disrupt the blocking.

The Eagles had nothing working in the pass game Monday night against the Chargers. But the run game finally got going. Saquon Barkley racked up 122 yards and a TD on 20 carries, thanks primarily to a re-emergence of chunk plays. Barkley's biggest strike came from 52 yards out for a lead-grabbing TD early in the fourth quarter. Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw up maybe the worst performance of his career in Monday night's OT loss to the Chargers. He tossed a career-high 4 INTs, and narrowly avoided a fifth thanks to the ball hitting the ground before S R.J. Mickens could secure it. Hurts also achieved the rare feat of turning the ball over twice on the same play. He threw a pick to DT Da'Shawn Hand, who fumbled while returning. Hurts recovered that fumble but then lost his own to give it back to the Chargers. The Philly QB also contributed zero TDs for the first time all season and even ran for only 8 yards on four attempts.

Riley Leonard "Week To Week" ... Philip Rivers To The Rescue?!

        1:16am UTC 12/9/25

Colts QB Riley Leonard is considered "week to week" with a strained ligament in his knee, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That's a more pessimistic report than we got earlier today and has Leonard sounding very iffy for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. Meanwhile, the Colts are having QB Philip Rivers in for a workout on Tuesday. Yeah, that Philip Rivers. The 44-year-old has not played since 2020 but has plenty of familiarity with HC Shane Steichen's offense. Steichen was Rivers' QBs coach with the Chargers from 2016 to 2019 and interim OC in 2019. We'll see where this goes over the next couple of days, but Rivers is no more than a speculative stash in 2-QB and superflex leagues. And even there, we wouldn't go dropping anyone of value for him.
