Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow (hip) is expected to play vs. the Texans today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Renfrow was added to the injury report and sidelined on Thursday but returned to a limited practice on Friday. He's listed as questionable. The hip issue obviously adds risk to Renfrow's Week 7 fantasy profile -- but Vegas could really use him with TE Darren Waller out.

The Chiefs gave 1st-team reps to RB Isiah Pacheco in practice this week and plan to start him over Clyde Edwards-Helaire against the 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. CEH "will still have a key role on offense," and we assume Jerick McKinnon will continue to be heavily involved. But this is the latest signal of dissatisfaction with Edwards-Helaire, who played fewer snaps than McKinnon in 3 of the past 4 games. Pick up Pacheco where available ahead of today's game.

Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hamstring) is expected to play Sunday against the Chargers, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Lockett missed practice all week and still carries some risk. The upside has him in WR2 range in our Week 7 rankings, though.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) “wants to see how he feels Sunday before making a final decision“ on whether he’ll play. It seems Allen and the Chargers would like to wait until after the Week 8 bye. We’ll see about his status as Sunday plays out, but don’t wait on Allen for your fantasy football lineups.

New 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is expected to play Sunday against the Chiefs. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the team has a “package of plays” for him after McCaffrey dove into learning the offense. We’ll all be guessing at just how much McCaffrey gets the ball. Check Sunday morning for our most up-to-date projections

The Ravens expect TE Mark Andrews (knee) to play Sunday against the Browns, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Listed as questionable, Andrews belongs in all fantasy lineups this week.

The Lions don’t expect RB D’Andre Swift (shoulder) to play Sunday against the Cowboys, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler. That would keep Jamaal Williams in the backfield lead, with Craig Reynolds and Justin Jackson factoring in for minor roles

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (knee) has been activated from the PUP list and will play vs. the Browns on Sunday. It'll be his 1st action since tearing his ACL in September of 2021. Even with RB J.K. Dobbins on IR, this Baltimore backfield is as muddy as ever. Edwards, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill all have a chance to lead the way in carries this weekend. Our best guess is that Edwards will be limited in his return and that Drake will edge out Hill in terms of volume -- but none of the 3 is a safe Week 7 fantasy play.

Patriots WRs Nelson Agholor (hamstring) and Kendrick Bourne (toe) are listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Bears. Neither should be in your Week 7 fantasy plans. Jakobi Meyers, DeVante Parker and Tyquan Thornton will operate as New England's top 3 WRs.

7:28pm EDT 10/22/22

Chargers RB Joshua Kelley (knee) will miss at least the next 4 games after landing on IR on Saturday. His absence leaves Sony Michel as Los Angeles' #2 RB for now. We'll see if rookie RB Isaiah Spiller can make a push for that job.

7:25pm EDT 10/22/22

The Lions placed WR D.J. Chark (ankle) on IR. So he'll miss at least the next 4 games as he apparently deals with a setback with the ankle he fractured in September of 2021. Feel free to cut Chark from fantasy rosters.

7:24pm EDT 10/22/22

The Ravens placed RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) on IR, knocking him out for at least the next 4 games. He's expected to be sidelined for 4-6 weeks after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his knee, so landing on IR has no impact to his rest-of-season fantasy value. Dobbins is not a must-stash in shallower fantasy leagues. He probably won't be a starting option until December at the earliest.

Niners S Talanoa Hufanga (concussion) and CB Charvarius Ward (groin) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. DL Arik Armstead (foot, ankle) has been ruled out. It'll be the 3rd straight game he has missed.

Patriots RB Damien Harris (hamstring) is off the final injury report for Monday night's game against the Bears. That should mean he's ready to split the carries with Rhamondre Stevenson once again. New England heads into the game as an 8-point favorite, so there should be plenty of rushing work to support both backs in fantasy football lineups. We'll see if the split gets back to what it was before Harris' injury.

Patriots QB Mac Jones (ankle) is questionable for Monday night's game against the Bears. Jones said Friday the ankle "feels pretty good" and that he's "making a lot of progress." We'll probably have to wait until Monday to confirm that he's playing.

The Browns have activated LB Deion Jones (shoulder) from IR. He's expected to make his 1st appearance with his new team Sunday against the Ravens. It's not yet clear what his role will be, though, in a LB corps that has been evolving since Anthony Walker Jr. went down.

The Packers have activated WR Sammy Watkins (hamstring) from IR. They have listed him as questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders. We certainly wouldn't use Watkins in fantasy football lineups. We'll see about his role -- once he plays -- and any impact on WRs Romeo Doubs and Allen Lazard. Green Bay also placed WR Randall Cobb (ankle) on IR. Cobb says he expects to return this season.

The Texans have placed EDGE Jonathan Greenard on IR with the calf injury he suffered in practice this week. He had already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Raiders. This means he'll miss at least the following 3 games as well. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Greenard is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. His absence should mean more playing time for veteran Mario Addison; perhaps starter Rasheem Green as well. Green's weekly snap shares have gone: 54%, 57%, 53% and 61%.

1:10pm EDT 10/22/22

The Commanders have placed QB Carson Wentz on IR for his recovery from finger surgery. That means he’ll miss at least the next 4 games. We already knew Taylor Heinicke would start this week against the Packers. Now the job is likely his for at least the next month. We’ll see whether Heinicke can command time beyond that with his play — or whether rookie QB Sam Howell gets into the mix

The Broncos plan to start QB Brett Rypien in Sunday’s game against the Jets. QB Russell Wilson will be out with his injured hamstring. That decision was reportedly made after a Saturday throwing session for Wilson. This matchup already looked good for the Jets’ D; it certainly doesn’t look any worse now. Check out the updated projections for the Rypien-led Broncos.
