Week 6 DraftKings Cash-Game Picks

Top Plays for DraftKings Head-to-Head and 50/50 Contests

Here are the guys I’m considering for DraftKings Week 6 head-to-heads and 50/50s:

Quarterback

Spencer Rattler, Saints ($4,000)

A minimum-priced QB is always in play for cash games. A min-priced QB is especially in play in a week like this with lots of attractive high- and mid-priced skill-position players – and very little to feel good about on the cheap end.

Rattler is a fifth-round rookie who struggled this preseason, so I won’t pretend that he’s a safe bet. But we don’t need a ton from him at this price: 15 DraftKings points would do.

Rattler does have some things working in his favor:

1. He has plenty of arm talent as a former five-star recruit and the No. 1 pro-style QB in the 2019 class.
2. He has experience, with 42 college starts under his belt.
3. He has nice weapons in Chris Olave, Rashid Shaheed, and Alvin Kamara.
4. And he gets a Bucs defense that ranks 20th in pass defense DVOA and 27th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to TEs.

Also consider:

• Lamar Jackson, Ravens ($7,800)
• Dak Prescott, Cowboys ($6,700)
• Justin Fields, Steelers ($5,800)

Running Backs

Saquon Barkley, Eagles ($8,200)

Barkley has one of the best roles in fantasy football. He’s averaging 18.3 carries and 3.8 targets per game. And he ranks third among RBs in expected PPR points per game.

The Eagles come off their bye week with a healthy offense, getting WR A.J. Brown, WR DeVonta Smith, and RT Lane Johnson back. This unit is ready to explode and boasts a big 26-point implied total for Sunday’s home game against the Browns.

Cleveland ranks 23rd in run defense DVOA and 28th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.

Bucky Irving, Buccaneers ($5,400)

RB Rachaad White is listed as doubtful with his foot injury, setting up Irving for a featured role this weekend. The only other RB on Tampa Bay’s active roster is Sean Tucker. RB D.J. Williams is on the practice squad.

Irving, of course, has been excellent so far this season. He’s averaging 5.6 yards per carry and ranks third among 50 qualifying RBs in Pro Football Focus’ Elusive Rating.

He draws a solid Saints run defense on Sunday that ranks 12th in DVOA and 13th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs. But the game environment should work in Irving’s favor. His Bucs are 3.5-point favorites with a 22.5-point implied total.

Antonio Gibson, Patriots ($5,300)

Like Irving, Gibson is far too cheap for the role he’s projected to play this weekend.

RB Rhamondre Stevenson’s absence leaves only JaMycal Hasty behind Gibson in New England’s backfield. RB Kevin Harris could be elevated from the practice squad, but Gibson is a heavy favorite to control rushing and pass-catching work on Sunday.

He’s been very efficient so far this season, averaging 5.9 yards per carry and 10.8 yards per catch. The matchup isn’t ideal against Houston’s ninth-ranked RB defense. But Gibson should see enough work to deliver cash-game value at this price.

• Bijan Robinson, Falcons ($6,600)
• Chuba Hubbard, Panthers ($6,300)
• Tony Pollard, Titans ($6,000)

Wide Receivers

Chris Godwin, Buccaneers ($6,900)

Godwin has 8+ targets in four of five games this season and 5+ catches in every game. 

He gets a Saints defense on Sunday that tends to limit WR Mike Evans, pushing work Godwin's way. His receiving lines in his last four healthy games vs. New Orleans:

• 8-140-1
• 8-63-0
• 8-114-0
• 3-81-1

Drake London, Falcons ($6,700)

Since a quiet opener, London has racked up 41 targets on a 27% target share over the last four weeks. He ranks eighth among WRs in expected PPR points per game and fourth in actual PPR points per game over that span.

London should stay hot on Sunday against a Panthers defense that can’t stop anything, including WRs. Carolina ranks 22nd in adjusted fantasy points allowed to the position.

Atlanta’s 26.5-point implied total is tied for third-highest on the main slate.

Diontae Johnson, Panthers ($6,100)

I try to stay away from ‘questionable’ players in cash games. But Johnson played a full slate of snaps through this ankle injury last week and put in three limited practices this week. I don’t expect the ankle to be a problem on Sunday.

Johnson remains a strong target bet for this price tag. He’s averaged 11.0 targets per game on a 31.4% share with QB Andy Dalton the past three weeks.

And he gets a plus matchup against the Falcons, who sit 28th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs.

• CeeDee Lamb, Cowboys ($8,600)
• Darnell Mooney, Falcons ($5,300)
• Tre Tucker, Raiders ($4,200)
• Ja’Lynn Polk, Patriots ($3,600)

Tight End

Jake Ferguson, Cowboys ($5,000)

In less than four full games this season, Ferguson has racked up 30 targets, 22 catches, and 229 yards. All three marks rank top-five among TEs. Only four TEs on the main slate are averaging more DK points per game. And that’s despite Ferguson failing to score a single TD so far.

He’s in a great spot this week with the Cowboys like to throw a ton. They’re three-point underdogs vs. a pass-funnel Lions defense. Detroit has faced the second-fewest RB carries per game and the third-most pass attempts per game.

Also consider:

• Cade Otton, Buccaneers ($3,500)

Defense/Special Teams

Patriots ($2,400)

I’d love to get to the Bucs DST ($2,600) vs. QB Spencer Rattler. (Yes, you can play a DST vs. your QB in cash). But the cash lineup I’m playing is left with only $2,400 for DST. And I’d always rather punt off DST than another position.

So the Patriots it is. New England’s DST has averaged a respectable 6.2 DK points per game this season. And they’re at home this weekend for a Texans defense missing top WR Nico Collins.
