Andy Dalton Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The forecast for today's Saints-Browns game calls for temperatures in the single digits with sustained winds of 20-25 mph and gusts of 40+. The wind chill is well below zero. They're brutal conditions that will significantly limit the passing and kicking games. Check out our projections for all the Saints and Browns players.

Saints QB Andy Dalton threw for 151 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's narrow win over the Falcons. He found TE Juwan Johnson for each score, from 19 and 22 yards out. He ceded the remaining TD toss to Taysom Hill, in a game that saw New Orleans attempt only 19 passes. The Saints visit another soft run defense in Cleveland in Week 16. Then comes a Philly defense that rates weak vs. the run and league best against the pass. Don't get excited about Dalton as an option for your fantasy football playoffs.

Coming off a pair of bad outings, Saints QB Andy Dalton proved efficient and productive in Sunday's win over the Rams. He completed 21 of 25 passes for 260 yards and 3 TDs. Dalton found WR Chris Olave for a 53-yard score, tossing his other 2 TDs to TE Juwan Johnson and WR Jarvis Landry. Olave was the only Saint to crack 50 receiving yards, taking his 5 catches for 102 yards. New Orleans heads to San Francisco in Week 12.

Saints QB Andy Dalton will start Sunday's game vs. the Rams, HC Dennis Allen said Wednesday. Dalton has been bad the past 2 weeks, averaging just 6.9 yards per attempt with 2 TDs but 3 INTs. Allen said the staff considered going back to QB Jameis Winston but that he still isn't 100% healthy and might not be for the rest of the season.

Saints QB Andy Dalton threw for just 174 yards, with 1 TD and 2 INTs in Sunday's loss at Pittsburgh. It was just his 2nd multi-INT game of the year but the 5th time in 7 starts that Dalton has thrown just 1 TD pass. New Orleans fell short of 200 total yards and scored just 10 points. We wouldn't be surprised to see coaches switch back to QB Jameis Winston ahead of next Sunday's home date with the Rams.

Saints HC Dennis Allen said Wednesday that he's sticking with QB Andy Dalton as his starter. "Jameis [Winston] is back healthy right now. We're going to go with Andy as we sit here right now," Allen said. "If we continue to play well offensively and move the ball offensively, Andy will stay in there." The Saints are 1-3 under Dalton, but they're averaged 31 points per game. It's been a run-leaning offense, with Dalton averaging just 32.8 pass attempts per game. He ranks 16th among QBs in fantasy points per game over the last 4 weeks. Consider this good news for RB Alvin Kamara -- although there's still a solid chance New Orleans goes back to Winston at some point this season.

Saints HC Dennis Allen confirmed to NFL Network's Omar Ruiz that QB Andy Dalton will start tonight's game vs. the Cardinals. Dalton is only in play in 2-QB leagues and 1-game DFS contests.

"Signs are pointing" toward Saints QB Andy Dalton starting tonight's game vs. the Cardinals, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. QB Jameis Winston (back, ankle) is still "not quite 100%," per Pelissero, and hasn't had a full practice since Week 1. Expect another run-heavy attack from the Dalton-led Saints tonight.

Saints HC Dennis Allen said Wednesday that the team will wait until game time Thursday night to name the starting QB against the Cardinals. Both Jameis Winston (back, ankle) and Andy Dalton (back) have been limited in practice this week.

Saints QBs Jameis Winston (back, ankle) and Andy Dalton (back) were limited in Tuesday's practice. It remains unclear who will start vs. the Cardinals on Thursday night. We'll get New Orleans' final injury report tomorrow.

The Saints listed QB Jameis Winston (back, ankle) and QB Andy Dalton (back) as limited participants in Monday's estimated injury report. Dalton sustained his injury in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. The report was "estimated" because New Orleans ran no actual practice Monday. The team will face Arizona on Thursday night.

Saints HC Dennis Allen declined to name a starting QB for Thursday night's game vs. the Cardinals. "Let's get in the study on that and we'll see where he's at and then we'll go from there," Allen said after the loss to Cincinnati. QB Andy Dalton completed just 17 of 32 passes (53%) for 162 yards (5.1 YPA) and 1 TD against the Bengals. But Allen said that QB Jameis Winston (back, ankle) still isn't at 100%. We'll keep an eye on the situation, but neither guy will be more than a lower-end QB2 for Week 7.

Saints QB Jameis Winston (back, ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He’ll back up QB Andy Dalton.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the Saints have been impressed with QB Andy Dalton and that Dalton has an "opportunity" to hang on to the starting job with a strong performance vs. the Bengals today. Dalton has been efficient over the past 2 weeks, posting a 69% completion rate and 8.1 yards per attempt. And he's thrown just 1 INT. He hasn't been very useful in fantasy football, though, averaging only 212 passing yards and 1 TD per game.

Saints QB Andy Dalton will start Sunday's game vs. the Bengals, HC Dennis Allen announced Friday. QB Jameis Winston (back, ankle) returned to limited practices this week, so it's unclear if he's not healthy yet or if New Orleans is just sticking with Dalton for now. Dalton is an unexciting QB2 in fantasy lineups, but he's good news for RB Alvin Kamara's target volume.

Saints QB Andy Dalton will start Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks, HC Dennis Allen said Friday. QB Jameis Winston remains out with his back and ankle injuries. Dalton was ok in last week’s loss to the Vikings and has some Superflex and DFS appeal against Seattle’s 30th-ranked QB defense.
