Christian McCaffrey Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

49ers QB Brock Purdy went off for 333 yards and 3 TDs in Sunday's win over Tampa Bay. He posted a perfect 158.3 QB rating while spreading scores to Brandon Aiyuk, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey. Purdy should make his way onto plenty of championship squads, as long as this offense stays healthy. His rest-of-season schedule only includes one negative matchup – Week 16 vs. Baltimore.

The 49ers scored just two TDs in Sunday's loss to the Bengals, and RB Christian McCaffrey accounted for both. He ran the first in from 2 yards out late in the first quarter. McCaffrey then caught a 4-yard TD pass in the middle of the fourth quarter. Overall, he totaled a 12-54 rushing line, plus 6-64 receiving on 7 targets. McCaffrey has averaged 12.7 carries in losses over the past three games after averaging 19.8 in five victories to open the season. RB Elijah Mitchell drew just 3 carries against Cincinnati after 1 against the Browns in Week 7. So it's not as though McCaffrey is ceding more work to teammate. If San Francisco can rebound after the Week 9 bye, McCaffrey's rushing workload would seem in line to rebound as well.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. If playing 100% of the snaps in Monday night's game vs. the Vikings wasn't telling, here's more confirmation that the oblique isn't a concern going forward.

Fantasy managers who trusted 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique) in their lineups in Week 7 were rewarded with a pair of TDs vs. the Vikings. The veteran RB recorded 15 carries for 45 rushing yards to go along with 3 catches for 51 yards as a pass-catcher in the contest. Always remember: if CMC is healthy enough to play, you start him in your lineup. Next week, McCaffrey will take on the Bengals.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique) is active for tonight's game vs. the Vikings. He got in just one limited practice this week and didn't take a hit, ESPN's Adam Schefter said on The Pat McAfee Show earlier today. There's elevated risk with CMC tonight, although there's been no report on his snaps being limited. RB Ty Davis-Price is a healthy scratch, leaving RBs Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason behind McCaffrey.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique) is expected to play vs. the Vikings tonight. We'll look for any word on limitations for McCaffrey in that one and will get San Francisco's inactives around 7 pm ET.

ESPN's Adam Schefter tweets, "All signs point to 49ers’ RB Christian McCaffrey playing Monday night at Minnesota ... McCaffrey returned to practice in a limited way Saturday and said after that he feels “great.” Barring another update between now and the 1 pm ET kickoffs, we'd have McCaffrey starting in the vast majority of fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique) "has a shot" to play vs. the Vikings on Monday night. CMC got in a limited practice on Saturday and is officially questionable. There have been no solid reports on his status. Hopefully we'll get one before the 1 pm ET games kick off.

Niners RB Christian McCaffrey put in a limited practice Saturday, his first action this week coming off the oblique injury. He's questionable for Monday night's game aginst the Vikings. We'll watch for any indications on whether he'll play before the Sunday games begin, but you might have to guess on McCaffrey's status until Monday. Make sure you have an insurance option available if you plan to wait on the 49er.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey (oblique) missed practice again on Friday. He was at least doing some work off on a side field, according to The Athletic's David Lombardi. We'll see if McCaffrey practices tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report for Monday night's game vs. the Vikings.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey won't practice on Thursday, HC Kyle Shanahan said. Shanahan called McCaffrey "day-to-day" with an oblique injury, but not a rib injury. That seemingly helps his chances of playing vs. the Vikings on Monday night. We'll get another update on McCaffrey tomorrow.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey's oblique/rib injury is not considered long-term, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Schefter adds that McCaffrey has a "chance" to play vs. the Vikings on Monday night. "The work week will help determine" his availability, Schefter says. We'll keep you updated on McCaffrey's status throughout the week. The Monday kickoff could make it a tricky situation for fantasy owners if McCaffrey ends up as a game-time decision.

The Athletic's Matt Barrows tweets that 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan "praised Jordan Mason's play on Sunday. But it sounded that Elijah Mitchell, not Mason, would be in the lead role should Christian McCaffrey miss Monday's game." It's certainly more tea-leaf-reading by Barrows than actual reporting -- but noteworthy nonetheless. Both Mitchell and Mason should be owned in most fantasy leagues as we wait to learn more about McCaffrey.

49ers HC Kyle Shanahan said Monday afternoon that RB Christian McCaffrey is still undergoing tests on the injury he suffered in the Week 6 loss to the Browns. Shanahan said it's still unclear whether McCaffrey has an injury to his oblique, ribs, or both -- and that figuring that out will help determine whether he's able to play against the Vikings next Monday night. We'll keep you updated on McCaffrey's status.

49ers RB Christian McCaffrey is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Browns with an oblique injury. We'll update his status when we know more. McCaffrey's absence leaves San Francisco's backfield to Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason.

Update: McCaffrey has returned to the game.

Update: McCaffrey carried once and then left the game, jogging back to the locker room.

Update: McCaffrey has been ruled out.
