Jaxson Dart Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Giants QB Jaxson Dart delivered a useful fantasy line in his Week 4 starting debut. He completed 13 of 20 passes for 111 yards and 1 score, adding 54 yards and a TD on the ground.

Further testing has confirmed the fear that Giants WR Malik Nabers tore his right ACL in Sunday's win over the Chargers. He'll need surgery and miss the rest of the season. The timing should at least help his chances of being ready for the start of the 2026 season. We'll obviously watch for further details on that front and track his return progress.

Giants decision makers apparently decided they didn't feel like seeing anymore late fourth-quarter passes fired through the back of the end zone. According to multiple reports, the team plans to start rookie QB Jaxson Dart instead of Russell Wilson this Sunday against the Chargers.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Giants say there's "no sense of urgency" to switch from QB Russell Wilson to first-round rookie Jaxson Dart. Wilson completed just 45.9% of his passes at 4.5 yards per attempt in a 15-point Week 1 loss at Washington.

Per The Athletic's Dan Duggan, HC Brian Daboll said that QB Russell Wilson will start New York's Week 2 game in Dallas.

Giants HC Brian Daboll declined to commit to QB Russell Wilson as the team's starter going forward after the Week 1 loss to Washington, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Wilson struggled vs. the Commanders, completing just 17 of 37 passes (46%) for 168 scoreless yards (4.5 YPA).

NFL Network reports that the Giants have a "package of plays" ready for QB Jaxson Dart in today's game vs. the Commanders. QB Russell Wilson will start, but Dart will be active as the No. 2 QB, ahead of Jameis Winston.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New York Giants' official Week 1 depth chart lists first-round rookie QB Jaxson Dart as the team's primary backup behind Russell Wilson

Giants QB Russell Wilson remains the Giants’ starter, per beat writer Connor Hughes, “with no real push from anyone to unseat him.”

Giants HC Brian Daboll said Wednesday that QB Russell Wilson is his starter. "These guys will be out here competing, but Russ is the starter," Daboll said.

The Giants selected Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart with the 25th pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. Dart flashed across six appearances for USC as a freshman in 2021 and then started for Ole Miss the last three years. He got better each season, culminating with a 4,279-yard, 29-TD 2024 campaign. He led FBS with 10.8 yards per attempt and 11.5 adjusted yards per attempt. An aggressive passer, Dart completed 69.3% of his passes on a huge 11.9-yard average target depth. He ranked first in the country in Pro Football Focus passing grade and fourth in Big Time Throw rate (which PFF defines as “a pass with excellent ball location and timing.”) Dart is accurate to all levels of the field with a lightning-quick release. He’ll just need to do more processing pre- and post-snap as a pro after operating Lane Kiffin’s one-read offense. Dart also ran for 1,915 yards over the last three seasons, including 648 last year. He might be the second-biggest rushing threat in this QB class, behind only Alabama’s Jalen Milroe. That certainly adds to his fantasy appeal.

The Pittsburgh Steelers allegedly have a first-round grade on Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. Steelers Beat Reporter Gerry Dulac told the Rich Eisen Show that the Steelers have that grade on Dart, but also like Shedeur Sanders. He did not rule out the possibility of the team taking a DL instead of a QB however.
