Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Commanders RB Brian Robinson is officially active for today’s game vs. the Titans. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport said this morning that the plan is for Robinson to play about 20 snaps – or about one-third of the game. We’d try to not use him in Week 5 fantasy lineups, but Robinson’s return is bad news for RB Antonio Gibson.

        11:32am UTC 10/9/22

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (calf) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Titans. TE John Bates figures to lead Washington in pass routes but is just an emergency fantasy play.

        11:31am UTC 10/9/22

Bucs WR Russell Gage (back) is active for today’s game vs. the Falcons. He was added to the injury report on Saturday and listed as questionable, so he carries elevated risk as a Week 5 fantasy play. But, with Julio Jones out, Gage should be locked in as Tampa’s #3 WR as long as that back cooperates.

Bucs WR Julio Jones (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Falcons, as expected. WR Breshad Perriman (knee, hamstring) is also out.

        11:30am UTC 10/9/22

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ribs) is active for today’s game vs. the Seahawks. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, but Kamara said Wednesday that his injured ribs were feeling better and that he’d play in this one. He has big upside vs. Seattle’s 32nd-ranked RB defense.

Commanders TE Logan Thomas (calf) will not play vs. the Titans today, ESPN's John Keim reports. Thomas misses a plus matchup after hurting that calf late in the practice week. Washington will have TEs John Bates, Cole Turner and Armani Rogers active for today's game. Bates is the best fantasy bet but would be a desperation play.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Saints WR Michael Thomas (foot) will "likely" be back for next weekend's game vs. the Bengals. We'll track Thomas' practice participation this coming week.

ESPN's Jeff Darlington reports that Bucs WR Julio Jones (knee) will not play vs. the Falcons today. Darlington also confirms that WR Russell Gage (back) will play. Jones' absence locks Gage in as Tampa's #3 WR behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Giants DL Leonard Williams (knee) and EDGE Azeez Ojulari (calf) are inactive for today's game against the Packers.

WR Odell Beckham is targeting a mid-November return from the torn ACL he suffered in last year's Super Bowl, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Beckham has been cleared for all non-contact work. The Rams seem like the favorites to sign Beckham when he's ready, but Rapoport mentions the Bucs, Packers, Bills and Chiefs as other potential suitors. We wouldn't bother adding Beckham to fantasy rosters right now and are still skeptical that he'll be a reliable fantasy play at any point this season. But we'll continue to monitor his progress and situation.

Packers S Adrian Amos has cleared the concussion protocol and is active for this morning's game against the Giants.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Texans today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jones was limited in practice all week after missing last Sunday's loss to the Eagles. Consider him a risk/reward WR4 for Week 5.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that the Bucs "hope" WR Julio Jones (knee) will play vs. the Falcons today, "but he'll work out pregame to determine his status." We'll get Tampa's inactives around 11:30 am ET, but we'd try to avoid a less-than-100% Jones in fantasy lineups.

Bucs WR Russell Gage (back) is expected to play vs. the Falcons today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Gage was added to the injury report on Saturday and is listed as questionable. There have been no other updates on his situation, so he carries elevated risk in Week 5 fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Commanders TE Logan Thomas a "true game-time decision" for today's tilt with the Titans. Thomas was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. We'll get Washington's inactives around 11:30 am ET. It's a plus matchup for Thomas if he plays, but the calf makes him an extremely risky fantasy start.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ribs) is expected to play vs. the Seahawks today. Kamara is listed as questionable but said on Wednesday that he felt much better this week and would play against Seattle. He carries big upside in this plus matchup.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Dolphins WRs Tyreek Hill (quad) and Jaylen Waddle (groin) are expected to play vs. the Jets today. Both guys carry elevated risk after limited weeks of practice, but you'd need to be stacked at WR to consider benching either guy. Both boast big upside in this plus matchup.

Lions WR Josh Reynolds (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Patriots today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Reynolds will have much less fantasy appeal if WR Amon-Ra St. Brown suits up. We'll get Detroit's inactives around 11:30 am.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Bears RB David Montgomery (ankle) is "optimistic" about playing today against the Vikings. These reports almost always come across as "expected" or "not expected" to play, so the wording here seems to indicate a bit less confidence in Montgomery's status. We wouldn't be surprised if an active Montgomery gets less than his usual workload -- especially with Khalil Herbert running well and the Bears heavy underdogs on the road. If Montgomery is active, this looks like a backfield to try to avoid. We will keep our RB rankings updated throughout the morning.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Montgomery "plans to play against the Vikings barring any pregame setbacks."

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (knee) is expected to play vs. the Eagles today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Moore was added to the injury report and limited on Thursday but was able to get in another limited practice on Friday. He has some volume-based appeal today, but consider him just a WR4 option in PPR leagues.
