Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (ankle) has been designated to return from IR. He'll practice on Thursday and is tentatively expected back for Monday night's game vs. the Rams. Edmonds has been out since suffering a high-ankle sprain in Week 9. He averaged 9.4 carries and 4.6 targets over the first 8 games of the season -- although it's unclear how big a role he'll play in his first game back.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) has been cleared to play vs. the Steelers tonight, barring a pregame setback, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports. We'll look for hints on how big a role Cook will play tonight, but he carries obvious re-injury risk. Check out our current projections for Minnesota's backfield.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) is "trending towards playing" vs. the Steelers tonight, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Cook dislocated his left shoulder and tore the labrum just 11 days ago. He still needs full medical clearance, per Pelissero, and would use a harness or some other form of added protection if he does play tonight. Cook would obviously carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups. But, if he's active, he'd be the preferred fantasy play over RB Alexander Mattison. We'll continue to look for updates on the situation.

Bears WR Allen Robinson (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice. It's his first official workout since Chicago returned from the Week 10 bye. We'll see if Robinson is ready for Sunday night's game vs. the Packers, but he wouldn't be a recommended fantasy starter.

Bears RB David Montgomery did not practice on Wednesday and is on the injury report with shoulder, groin and glute issues. This looks like a rest day after Montgomery racked up 29 touches in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, but we'll get another update tomorrow.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He got banged up in last week's game vs. the Chargers but was able to play through it. We're expecting him to be available for Sunday's game vs. the 49ers, but check back tomorrow for another update.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel (groin) did not practice on Wednesday. He did some running off to the side, according to insider Matt Barrows. But Samuel is still iffy for this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

49ers RB Jeff Wilson (knee) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. His knee flared up during last weekend's game, but it looks like he has a shot to play vs. the Bengals on Sunday. Wilson and RB JaMycal Hasty should be owned in all fantasy leagues with RB Elijah Mitchell (concussion, knee) iffy for Week 14.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (quad) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He got in limited practices last Thursday and Friday before missing Sunday's game, but he seems to be trending toward a return for this weekend's game vs. the Chargers. Unfortunately, the Giants' QB situation will make Shepard tough to trust in fantasy lineups.

Giants WR Kadarius Toney (oblique) did not practice on Wednesday. The original quad issue is off the injury report, but now the oblique is keeping him sidelined. Toney shouldn't be in your Week 14 fantasy plans.

Giants WR Kenny Golladay (rib) did not practice on Wednesday. He played through this issue last week, so we're expecting him to play vs. the Chargers this weekend. But the struggling Golladay shouldn't be in fantasy lineups with Jake Fromm likely under center.

Broncos RB Melvin Gordon (hip) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. That puts him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Lions. RB Javonte Williams, of course, exploded with Gordon out last week. It's unclear exactly what that means for the backfield split going forward, but the matchup with Detroit's 29th-ranked RB defense makes Williams an easy Week 14 fantasy start. Gordon's viability will depend on what he does in practice the rest of the week.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (shoulder) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. HC Dan Quinn said Swift is "improving" but didn't comment on his status for this weekend's game vs. the Broncos. Fantasy owners shouldn't be counting on Swift in Week 14 lineups.

Cowboys RB Tony Pollard missed Wednesday's practice with a foot issue. “He’s fine,” a source tells The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken. Dallas did sign RB Ito Smith to the practice squad on Wednesday, though, suggesting that there's at least some concern about Pollard's Week 14 availability. We'll get another update tomorrow.

Jaguars RB James Robinson (heel, knee) remained limited in Wednesday's practice. He'll likely continue to play through these injuries against the Titans this weekend, but Robinson is a shaky fantasy bet until we see him closer to 100%.

Saints QB Taysom Hill (finger) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice. It's confirmation that he's set to play through his mallet finger, which reportedly isn't nearly as serious as Russell Wilson's. Hill's passing projection is shaky with this injury, although the matchup vs. the Jets helps. But as long as he keeps running, Hill is a good bet for QB1 production.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (knee) put in a full practice on Wednesday. He's on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Jets, barring a setback. And a full week of practice would set him up to play his usual role. Kamara can be penciled into Week 14 fantasy lineups.

Raiders TE Darren Waller (knee, back) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any details on the back issue that's now on the injury report, but this obviously isn't a good start for Waller's chances of returning for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. We'll get another update tomorrow.

Browns TE Harrison Bryant (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. Reportedly battling a high-ankle sprain, he's unlikely to play vs. the Ravens this weekend. TE David Njoku is on the COVID list, so Austin Hooper might hog all the TE targets on Sunday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter that 49ers RB Elijah Mitchell had an MRI that showed knee "irritation," in the words of HC Kyle Shanahan. We'll see what that means through the practice week. At the least, it adds a complication to a player already in the concussion protocol. Make sure you have insurance behind Mitchell heading into the weekend.
