Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Giants WRs Kenny Golladay (knee) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) remained sidelined on Thursday. The New York Daily News' Pat Leonard confirms that both are expected to miss this weekend's game vs. the Panthers. WR Sterling Shepard should soak up a bunch of targets in that one.

Browns QB Baker Mayfield is expected to need surgery on his left shoulder, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The surgery can reportedly be delayed until after this season. "The belief is he can deal with it through the season, but incurring more damage would make it challenging," Rapoport adds. Mayfield is out for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos, but it sounds like he'll try to make it back for Week 8.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert has been activated from the COVID list. He'll be back for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. With TE Zach Ertz finally out of the way, Goedert has top-5 fantasy upside the rest of the season.

Buccaneers S Antoine Winfield put in a full practice Wednesday. That makes it look like he'll be ready to return for Sunday's game against the Bears. Winfield missed the past 2 contests with a concussion. His return pushes Mike Edwards back into a reserve role.

Colts S Julian Blackmon suffered a torn Achilles' tendon in Wednesday's practice and will miss the rest of the season. Indy's 2nd-year starter at FS hasn't been a high-level IDP producer, but the injury takes away a player who as started 22 of the Colts' 23 games since he entered the league. Andrew Sendejo looks like the next man up. Indy lists him as Blackmon's backup on the "unofficial" depth chart, and Sendejo stepped in a couple of weeks ago when S Khari Willis missed time. Sendejo could present some low-level fantasy upside for deep IDP leagues.

Bengals RB Samaje Perine has been activated from the COVID list. He'll be back for Sunday's game against the Ravens to give lead back Joe Mixon a few breathers.

Jets LB C.J. Mosley missed practice Wednesday with a hamstring injury. HC Robert Saleh told the team website that he hopes Mosley will be able to play Sunday against the Patriots. We'll keep an eye on the veteran's status throughout the week. Elsewhere on the defense: The Jets don't expect to activate LB Jarrad Davis (ankle) off IR this week. That keeps Quincy Williams in the starting lineup and an upside spot for tackle collection. S Marcus Maye returned to practice Wednesday after missing the past 2 games with an ankle injury. it's not yet clear, though, whether he'll be ready for Sunday's game, according to the team website.

NFL Network's James Palmer confirms that Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater (foot, quad) is expected to start tonight's game vs. the Browns. He was limited in practice this week and seen limping around on Tuesday. Bridgewater won't be at 100% tonight and is a shaky fantasy play.

NFL Network's James Palmer hears that it'll be an "uphill battle" for Browns WR Odell Beckham (shoulder) to play vs. the Broncos tonight. Beckham is reportedly dealing with a Grade 3 AC joint injury. His status beyond Week 7 is uncertain. WR Jarvis Landry, meanwhile, has a "very good chance" to be activated from IR and return from his knee injury tonight, according to Palmer. There would be targets up for grabs with Beckham out. But Landry would be a risky fantasy play in his first game back and with Case Keenum under center.

Browns DE Jadeveon Clowney is questionable for Thursday night's game against the Broncos. He's listed with ankle, chest and knee issues but put in limited practice participation throughout this condensed week. Clowney played through a questionable tag or his normal snap share Sunday against the Cardinals. So we'd bet on him playing. But we'll update his status when Thursday night inactives are announced.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid told reporters Wednesday that LB Anthony Hitchens is dealing with a right triceps contusion. NFL Network's Jeffrey Chadiha reports, however, that Hitchens also has a nerve injury in the elbow. It's not yet clear how long -- or even whether -- Hitchens will miss further time. Ben Niemann led Chiefs LBs in Week 6 playing time, with Hitchens leaving early. Nick Bolton checked in 2nd, while Willie Gay Jr.'s snap share declined vs. the previous game. Bolton is the most attractive IDP option among those 3.

Chiefs TE Travis Kelce (neck) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He got banged up in last week's win over Washington but was able to return and looked just fine. He should be ready for Sunday's game vs. the Titans, but we'll update his status again tomorrow.

Giants WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. If he's able to return for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers, he'd likely be the Giants' #2 WR with Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney expected to miss.

Dolphins WRs DeVante Parker (hamstring, shoulder) and Preston Williams (groin) put in limited practices on Wednesday. That gives them a shot to return for this weekend's game vs. Atlanta. We'll get another update on both guys tomorrow.

Browns insider Camryn Justice hears that WR Jarvis Landry (knee) has a "real chance" to return for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. Cleveland has until 4 pm ET tomorrow to activate Landry for the game. The Browns could certainly use him with WR Odell Beckham iffy with his shoulder injury and RBs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt out. Landry would be a shaky fantasy play, though, in his 1st game back and with Case Keenum under center.

Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski (ribs) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. That's not a good start for his chances of returning for this weekend's game vs. the Bears. TE O.J. Howard was also sidelined on Wednesday with an ankle injury. We'll get another update on both guys tomorrow.

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. We'd be surprised if he played vs. the Chiefs this weekend after aggravating his hamstring injury in the 4th quarter of Monday night's win over the Bills.

49ers QB Trey Lance (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. QB Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) was limited and is expected to be a full-go later this week, HC Kyle Shanahan said. Garoppolo remains in line to start Sunday night's game vs. the Colts.

Trade talks between the Texans and Dolphins for QB Deshaun Watson are "heating up," according to insider Aaron Wilson. The 2 sides are hoping to get a deal done before the November 2 trade deadline. Watson will waive his no-trade clause for a move to Miami, which has been his preferred destination all along. Houston, meanwhile, is looking for three 1st-round picks and two 2nd-round picks or players, per Wilson. We'll see where this goes -- and then when Watson is cleared to play amid all his legal issues. We'd still only stash Watson on fantasy rosters at this point if you have a roster spot to play with.

Browns WR Odell Beckham (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game against the Broncos. He didn't practice at all this week. Insider Josina Anderson reports that Beckham suffered a Grade 3 AC joint injury -- the most severe -- in last week's loss to the Cardinals. He's reportedly going to try to play through it and is a game-time decision for tomorrow night. Between his shoulder injury and QB Baker Mayfield's absence, Beckham is an extremely shaky Week 7 fantasy play.
