Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Washington RB Antonio Gibson (shin) is active for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. He handled 20 carries and 2 targets last week, despite playing through that stress fracture in his shin. Gibson is an upside fantasy play vs. Kansas City’s porous run defense.
Washington WR Terry McLaurin (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. He was added to the injury report and listed as a non-participant in Friday’s practice. McLaurin did work off to the side on Friday, though, and HC Ron Rivera said afterward that they were operating more under "an abundance of caution.” ESPN's John Keim reported that McLaurin was “feeling good” on Saturday. He obviously comes with added risk in Week 6 fantasy lineups. But we’d have a tough time sitting McLaurin in this dream matchup vs. the Chiefs.
Ravens WR Rashod Bateman is active for today’s game against the Chargers. OC Greg Roman suggested earlier in the week that Bateman would be on a snap count in his NFL debut, so we'd try not to use him in Week 6 fantasy lineups.
Colts WR T.Y. Hilton (neck) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. It’s his 2021 debut after late-August neck surgery. We’ll see how big a role Hilton plays in this one, but he shouldn’t be in Week 6 fantasy lineups.
Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He remained limited in practice this week and won’t be playing at 100% today.
Bears WR Allen Robinson (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Packers. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, so don’t expect him to be at 100% today. Robinson sits outside WR3 territory in the Week 6 Rankings.
Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Lions. He was listed as questionable after getting in only 2 limited practices this week. But HC Zac Taylor said Friday morning that Mixon “should get a full workload” vs. Detroit. RB Samaje Perine (COVID) is out, which can’t hurt Mixon’s volume. Consider him a risk/reward RB1 today.
Giants WRs Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (ankle) are active for today’s game vs. the Rams. WR Darius Slayton (hamstring) is inactive. WR John Ross figures to operate as New York’s #3 WR in place of Slayton.
In addition to the change at safety, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Chiefs' defensive alterations could include "possibly more Nick Bolton and Willie Gay together at linebacker." It'll be a tough situation to read for IDP value before we see the new snap distribution among Chiefs LBs. We did move Anthony Hitchens down the Week 6 LB rankings, though.
The Cowboys expect DE Randy Gregory (knee) to play today against the Patriots. He's officially questionable, so we'll update his status when inactives come out around 3 p.m. ET.
The Lions expect EDGE Trey Flowers (knee) to play today against the Bengals. He's officially questionable, so we'll update his status when the inactives come out.
Jaguars rookie CB Tyson Campbell (toe) is inactive for today's game against the Dolphins. Jacksonville will also be without LB Myles Jack, who is out with a back injury. Jack's absence boosts the IDP upside for LB Damien Wilson.
Dolphins CB Xavien Howard (shoulder, groin) and CB Byron Jones (Achilles', groin) are inactive for today's game against the Jaguars. That leaves Miami's defense without its top 2 corners, which can only enhance the matchup for Jacksonville WRs Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that the Chiefs are expected to starting S Juan Thornhill in place of S Daniel Sorensen today against Washington. That follows a game in which Sorensen was charged with allowing a 61-yard reception to Bills WR Stefon Diggs and a 53-yard TD to Dawson Knox. It also comes with K.C. needing to improve 1 of the league's worst defenses. Thornhill played less than 50% of the snaps as the 3rd safety each of the past 4 weeks, so Sorensen should be out of IDP lineups. Thornhill becomes an option but doesn't carry the tackle upside of Sorensen.
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. It’s Tua’s 1st action since getting knocked out early in Week 2. Jacksonville ranks 24th in adjusted fantasy points allowed to QBs, but Tagovailoa is missing WRs Will Fuller, DeVante Parker and Preston Williams.
Cardinals RB Chase Edmonds (shoulder) is expected to play vs. the Browns today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Edmonds played through this injury last week but was seemingly limited, finishing with just 6 carries and 4 targets. That makes him a risky fantasy starter today.
Bears WR Allen Robinson (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Packers today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. A-Rob got in just 1 limited practice this week, so the assumption is that he'll be operating at less than 100% today. He's a shaky fantasy option.
Broncos RB Melvin Gordon (hip) is expected to play vs. the Raiders today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Gordon is listed as questionable, but we never heard any concern about his status. Expect him to continue splitting work with rookie RB Javonte Williams today.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Chargers WR Mike Williams (knee) is expected to play vs. the Ravens today. We heard the same from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Saturday night. We'll see if we hear anything about Williams being on a snap count over the next few hours. For now, consider him a risk/reward Week 6 fantasy play.
"There is optimism" Patriots RB Damien Harris (ribs) plays vs. the Cowboys today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Not certain yet, but some good feelings," Rapoport adds. Harris got in 2 limited practices this week after being knocked out of last Sunday's win over the Texans. Between the injury and last week's fumble, Harris looks like a risky fantasy option today.
