Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Titans WR Josh Reynolds (foot) is inactive for today's game vs. the Cardinals. He was set to serve as Tennessee's #3 WR. Reynolds' absence should just mean a few extra targets for WRs A.J. Brown and Julio Jones.

Packers OLB Za’Darius Smith will play today against the Saints, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Smith is officially questionable with a back issue that kept him out through most of August. We’d still try to not use him in IDP leagues, but his presence is good news for the Green Bay defense

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Browns WR Odell Beckham (knee) is expected to play "without limitations" against the Chiefs today, "assuming warmups go well and he feels good." Reports on Beckham's Week 1 status have varied a bit, but we're ultimately expecting him to play something close to his usual role.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (hamstring) will be a "full go" for today's opener vs. Washington, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's a bit surprising after Ekeler got in just a limited practice on Friday. But it continues to sound like his absence on Wednesday and Thursday was precautionary. At this point, Ekeler should be locked into Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (knee) will be "eased in" and "used sparingly" in today's opener vs. the Broncos, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweets. "He’ll get snaps, but the team won’t put him at risk so early," Rapoport adds. So it sounds like Barkley will be on some type of snap or touch count in his 1st game since last September's torn ACL. Exactly how much work he'll garner is unclear. Consider Barkley a risk/reward RB2 in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Bills WR Emmanuel Sanders (foot) is expected to play against the Steelers today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The veteran was limited in practice all week, and it's unclear if the foot will be a factor today. The uncertainty means Sanders is better off on fantasy benches for Week 1.

Bears WR Darnell Mooney (back) is expected to play vs. the Rams tonight, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Mooney is listed as questionable but put in a full practice on Friday, so the back doesn't seem like a real concern.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Browns WR Odell Beckham (knee) is expected to play vs. the Chiefs today, "assuming there are no issues in the morning." Beckham remained limited in practice all week coming off last year's torn ACL and is officially listed as questionable. We won't be surprised if his snaps are a bit limited today, making him more of a WR3 in Week 1 fantasy lineups.

Jets WR Keelan Cole (knee) is considered a "true game-time decision" for today's opener vs. the Panthers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cole shouldn't be in your fantasy plans, but his absence would free up more targets for WRs Corey Davis and Elijah Moore.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley (knee) has been medically cleared and is expected to play in Sunday's opener vs. the Broncos, ESPN's Jordan Raanan reports. This has been the expectation for a while now. We're still hoping to get a report on what type of workload Barkley is in line for in his 1st action since last September's torn ACL. For now, Barkley sits in mid-range RB2 territory in the Week 1 rankings.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (toe) was limited in practice all week but isn't listed on the final injury report. We'll keep an eye on the toe issue but are expecting Jacobs to be ready for his usual role on Monday night vs. the Ravens.

Bears OLB Khalil Mack (groin) and S Eddie Jackson (wrist) are questionable for Sunday night's game against the Rams. Mack finished the week with a full practice Friday, and Jackson put in full practices every day. We'd bet on both players being active.

Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Giants. He returned for limited practices Thursday and Friday after missing Wednesday's workout. Ian Rapoport reports that Chubb isn't likely to play his full role even if he's active for the game. Chubb is still working back from May ankle surgery.

Packers OLB Za'Darius Smith is questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints. He was limited Wednesday and Thursday with his back injury but finished the week sitting out Friday. He's not a good bet or IDP lineups even if he turns up active.

Chiefs DE Frank Clark is questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns with a hamstring injury. Clark put in just limited practices all week. Don't trust him in your Week 1 IDP lineups, even if he's active.

Browns DE Jadeveon Clowney (illness) and S Ronnie Harrison (ankle) are questionable or Sunday's opener against the Chiefs. Clowney missed practice Wednesday and Thursday but returned to a limited Friday workout. Harrison closed out the week with a full Friday workout after being limited Wednesday and Thursday. We'll check the status of both players Sunday morning.

Niners CB Emmanuel Moseley (knee) and DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) are doubtful for Sunday's game against the Lions. That will likely leave San Francisco without 1 of its 2 starting outside corners and its top DT.

The Colts have ruled CB Xavier Rhodes (calf) out for Sunday's game against the Seahawks. That's not particularly impactful for IDP leagues, but Rhodes' absence enhances the matchup for WR D.K. Metcalf.

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (hamstring) is expected to play against Washington on Sunday, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Ekeler was held out of Wednesday and Thursday's practices as a "precaution," Rapoport adds. The hamstring issue adds risk to Ekeler's Week 1 fantasy outlook, but he retains RB1 upside. We'll continue to look for updates on any type of limitations on Ekeler this weekend.

Bears WR Darnell Mooney (back) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's game vs. the Rams. He got in a full practice on Friday, though, so expect him to play. Mooney has some breakout potential this season but is a shaky fantasy play vs. a tough Rams secondary.
