Chris Godwin Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bucs HC Bruce Arians labeled WR Chris Godwin a game-time decision with his foot injury. Arians also revealed that Godwin hurt the foot on a tackle in the loss to the Saints prior to the Week 9 bye. Godwin didn't practice on Wednesday or Thursday, and the Tampa media didn't see him out there for the start of Friday's practice. We'll see how he's listed on the final injury report later today.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin (foot) missed practice again on Thursday. He's in real danger of missing Sunday's game vs. Washington. We'll see if Godwin practices tomorrow and how he's listed on the final injury report.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin missed Wednesday's practice with a foot injury. HC Bruce Arians didn't provide any other details, only saying that they'll need to "wait and see" on Godwin's Week 10 status. Tampa notably signed WR Breshad Perriman to the practice squad earlier this week after he spent 2019 with the team. We'll get another update on Godwin on Thursday.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Saints. HC Bruce Arians suggested earlier this week that Brown isn't a lock to be ready after the Week 9 bye. His absence is good news for WRs Chris Godwin and Mike Evans. Tyler Johnson will operate as the #3 WR but would be a fantasy flier.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. The Athletic's Greg Auman spotted Brown with a crutch. That certainly doesn't sound like a guy in line to play vs. the Saints this weekend -- especially with Tampa getting a Week 9 bye. With Brown out last week, WR Chris Godwin saw 11 targets and WR Mike Evans 10.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Bears. We still don't have any details on Brown's injury, but the fact that he didn't practice at all this week makes him seem iffy for Week 8. It's worth noting that Tampa Bay has a Week 9 bye. Brown's absence on Sunday should elevate WR Tyler Johnson to the #3 spot on the depth chart. He's still just a DFS tournament flier. WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin should soak up extra targets with Brown out.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown (ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He appears to be in real danger of missing this weekend's game vs. the Bears. Brown's absence would move WR Tyler Johnson up into the #3 spot on the depth chart -- and mean more targets for WRs Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

Bucs WR Antonio Brown remains on the COVID list as of Friday night and is expected to miss Sunday's game vs. the Rams, according to insider Greg Auman. When Brown missed last year's NFC Championship, WRs Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson basically split #3 WR duties. Neither guy can be trusted in fantasy lineups. Chris Godwin, Mike Evans and Rob Gronkowski could all pick up extra targets with Brown out.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin is not listed on the final injury report for Thursday night's opener vs. the Cowboys. He was limited in Tuesday's practice with a quad issue but returned to a full practice on Wednesday. Godwin is a strong fantasy play against a Cowboys defense that ranked 2nd-to-last in adjusted fantasy points allowed to WRs last year.

Bucs WR Chris Godwin was added to Tuesday's injury report with a quad and limited in practice on Tuesday. That's all we know at this point. Check back tomorrow for another update ahead of Thursday night's opener vs. the Cowboys.

The forecast for today's Bucs-Jags game calls for a slight chance of rain with winds of 17-20 mph. Gusts could come in at 25-30 mph. That's enough wind to impact the passing and kicking games. QBs Jameis Winston and Nick Foles come with increased risk in Week 13 fantasy lineups. Try to avoid Ks Matt Gay and Josh Lambo.

Bucs HC Bruce Arians labeled WR Chris Godwin (hip) a game-time decision for Sunday's tilt with the Rams. Godwin returned to practice on Friday after missing the first 2 days and was "moving around well," according to Arians. Bucs-Rams doesn't kick off until 4:05 pm ET, so hopefully we get an update on Godwin's status on Sunday morning.

Titans WR Adam Humphries has inked a 4-year, $36 million deal with the Titans. The former undrafted free agent boosted his catch and yardage totals in each of his 4 seasons in Tampa Bay, topping out with a 76-816-5 line this past year. A pure slot receiver, Humphries is averaging just 10.6 yards per catch for his career but sports a nice 70.4% catch rate. He has a shot to finish 2nd on the 2019 Titans in targets, with nothing proven at WR behind Corey Davis and 34-year-old TE Delanie Walker returning from a fractured ankle. The Bucs, meanwhile, have now lost Humphries and DeSean Jackson today. That leaves Chris Godwin as the clear #2 and 2018 5th-rounder Justin Watson as an intriguing sleeper -- barring a major addition at the position. TE O.J. Howard should also see a rise in targets.
