Puka Nacua Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp turned 8 targets into 6 catches, 39 yards, and 1 score in Week 13. He was out-produced by both Puka Nacua (4-105-1) and Demarcus Robinson (4-55-1). Three of Nacua’s catches came in the first quarter, as he was limited by rib/shoulder injuries. Still, Kupp wasn’t able to get much going in this one, beyond a short-range score that found him exploiting an open zone. That marked his first TD since Week 6. The 30-year-old has now been under 50 yards in six straight. He’ll profile as more of a WR2 for a tough Week 14 showdown at Baltimore. After that comes an ideal home matchup with Washington.

Rams WR Puka Nacua injured his ribs and shoulder on a diving catch in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Browns. He's officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.

Update: Nacua returned for the start of the second half.

Rams WR Cooper Kupp has been diagnosed with a low-ankle sprain. He tried returning from the injury on Sunday but missed the second half. For now, the 30-year-old looks 50/50 to suit up this week at Arizona. If Kupp remains out, Puka Nacua would likely be in for WR1 usage in a plus matchup.

Rams QB Matt Stafford (thumb) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Seahawks. That suggests his right thumb injury shouldn’t be a factor this weekend, although we’d still prefer to see Stafford play a healthy game before considering him as a starter in 1-QB fantasy leagues. Stafford’s return is excellent news for WRs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.

Rams HC Sean McVay said Monday that the team is expecting QB Matt Stafford (thumb) to start this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks. Stafford was able to grip and throw the football in Monday's post-bye-week practice. We'll keep an eye on his progress throughout the week. Stafford would be a shaky QB1 play in Week 11 fantasy lineups, but his return is great news for the Rams' skill-position players.

Rams HC Sean McVay said Monday that he's "optimistic" about getting QB Matt Stafford back from his thumb injury after the Week 10 bye. That'd be excellent because QB Brett Rypien was horrible in Green Bay on Sunday, totaling just 130 scoreless passing yards. WRs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua combined for five catches and 80 yards. We'll track Stafford's status when the Rams get back to work next week.

Rams WRs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua combined for only 5 catches (14 targets) for 70 yards against the Packers. Kupp’s now tallied 98 yards over his past three games. We’re pretty much throwing out this one, though. With Matt Stafford (thumb) sidelined, Brett Rypien stepped in and threw for 130 yards (4.64 YPA). The Rams ran only 55 plays, limiting Rypien’s volume (28 attempts). Here’s the good news: Stafford has a real chance to return following a Week 10 bye. And Los Angeles' short-term schedule looks fine with upcoming matchups vs. Seattle and Arizona. We wouldn't be looking to sell-low here.

Rams WR Puka Nacua (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Packers. He was limited in practice all week, but we’ve heard nothing to suggest that the knee will be a major factor today. QB Brett Rypien is a bigger concern for Nacua’s Week 9 fantasy outlook.

Rams WR Puka Nacua (knee) is expected to play vs. the Packers today, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Nacua was limited in practice all week, but we don't have any other details on his status. Between the knee injury and QB Brett Rypien likely getting the start, Nacua has fallen in the Week 9 WR Rankings.

ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that Rams QB Matt Stafford (thumb) is "unlikely" to play vs. the Packers today. "The team is giving him all the time it can before it has to make any final decisions about his availability," Schefter adds. QB Brett Rypien is still the favorite to start today, but it sounds like Stafford has a good chance to be ready after Los Angeles' Week 10 bye. We'll get the Rams' inactives around 11:30 am ET.

Rams WR Puka Nacua (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Packers. He was limited in practice all week. We’ve heard nothing to suggest that Nacua is in danger of missing this one. But between the knee issue and QB Matt Stafford’s likely absence, Nacua looks more like a WR3 this week.

Rams QB Matt Stafford (thumb) did not practice on Wednesday. Although not ruled out yet, he feels like a long shot to play vs. the Packers this weekend. The Rams then have a Week 10 bye. It'll be QB Brett Rypien under center for the Rams if Stafford is out on Sunday.

Rams QB Matt Stafford is still undergoing tests on his injured right thumb, according to The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue. The current plan is to evaluate his grip strength throughout the week to determine whether he can play against the Packers on Sunday. "Chillier conditions in GB combined with a bye after are some details in consideration for the short term, but Rams also are not ruling out injured reserve at this point as they are still gathering information that helps discern a larger timeline for Stafford," Rodrigue adds. We should learn more about Stafford's status by the end of Monday. For now, we're assuming that he does not play vs. Green Bay this weekend. That'd leave QB Brett Rypien under center for Los Angeles.

Rams WR Puka Nacua bounced back in Week 7 vs. the Steelers with 8 catches on 12 targets for a monstrous, team-leading 154 receiving yards. The rookie now leads all NFL WRs with 58 receptions on the year. His teammate Cooper Kupp didn’t see nearly the same level of success on Sunday, hauling just 2 of 7 targets for a disappointing 29 receiving yards. Regardless, both wideouts will be must-start options in Week 8 vs. the Cowboys.

Cooper Kupp returned against the Eagles on Sunday, and yet Puka Nacua didn't vanish. The Rams rookie WR trailed Kupp by just one target (12-11), snagging 7 receptions for 71 yards and a TD. His score came from 22 yards out late in the second quarter. Nacua drew a target on 29.7% of QB Matthew Stafford's attempts. No other Ram exceeded 5 targets. Consider Nacua a weekly fantasy starter until something changes. A Week 6 meeting with the Cardinals looks good for the whole L.A. offense.

Rams HC Sean McVay confirmed on Friday that WR Cooper Kupp (hamstring) will play vs. the Eagles this weekend. The team has seemingly played it safe with Kupp's return from his recurring hamstring injury, so we'd expect him to be at least close to 100%. It's still possible that he's on some type of snap count on Sunday, but Kupp would be tough to leave out of Week 5 fantasy lineups considering his dominance since 2021. His return is an obvious threat to WR Puka Nacua and WR Tutu Atwell's volume -- although Nacua would also be nearly impossible to bench. See where all those guys sit in the Week 5 WR Rankings.

Rams WR Puka Nacua is incredible. His 39 catches through the first four games of his NFL career are the most all-time, and the rookie closed out Week 4 with his first career TD vs. the Colts. He led the team in receiving with 9 catches on 10 targets for 163 receiving yards. TE Tyler Higbee also paid off for fantasy managers, logging 5 catches on 11 targets for 64 yards. While his final stat line was a bummer (5 catches, 24 yards), WR Tutu Atwell remained heavily involved and should be a good candidate to bounce back next week vs. the Eagles. This Rams’ passing attack is turning out to be among the best in fantasy.

Rams WR Puka Nacua came back down to earth on Monday night, recording 5 catches on 7 targets for 72 yards vs. the Bengals. Week 3 also saw a solid effort from TE Tyler Higbee. He caught all 5 of his targets for 71 yards in the loss. Not to bury the lead here, but WR Tutu Atwell was extremely impressive in this one. He had an excellent 22-yard rush that nearly resulted in a TD to go on top of his 4 catches for 50 yards and a receiving score on a team-leading 9 targets. While the Rams may have lost this game, fantasy managers who roster these pass-catchers came out as winners. Let’s see if they can keep this production rolling in Week 4 vs. the Colts.

Rams WR Puka Nacua (oblique) is active for tonight's game vs. the Bengals. He played through this injury last week, catching 15 balls for 147 yards.
