Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Jaguars HC Urban Meyer says WR Laviska Shenault (shoulder) “should” play this week, per beat writer John Shipley. We’ll follow Shenault's practice participation over the next few days. Through 2 weeks, the 2nd-year WR has just 47 yards on 9 catches.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson did not suffer a "serious [knee] injury" in the loss to the Raiders, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. Johnson's status for Week 3 is uncertain, but "it’s not a long-term injury," Garafolo adds. We'll look for further updates, but Johnson owners can at least breath a slight sigh of relief.

Additional testing on Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa's injured ribs revealed no "major issues," according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. "So it’ll be about pain tolerance and functionality moving forward.," Pelissero adds. We'll need to keep an eye on Tua's practice participation and progress this week. If he can't play vs. the Raiders on Sunday, it'll be Jacoby Brissett under center for Miami.

Testing on Bears QB Andy Dalton's knee revealed no ACL or MCL damage, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Dalton is believed to be dealing with a bone bruise, although we're still waiting for confirmation on that. It at least seems like Dalton avoided a major injury. HC Matt Nagy wouldn't commit to a healthy Dalton as his starter when asked Monday morning -- but the Bears' PR team later "delivered a message" from Nagy that Dalton remains the starter, per insider Brad Biggs. We'll see where this goes.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski told reporters Monday that WR Jarvis Landry has an MCL sprain and deemed him "week to week." When asked whether he'd land on IR, Stefanski reportedly said "we'll see." That it's even a possibility right now points to Landry almost certainly missing Week 3 and not being a good bet for Week 4. We'll see whether Odell Beckham can get back into the lineup for Sunday's game against the Bears.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Broncos LB Josey Jewell tore a pectoral muscle in Sunday's win over the Jaguars and will miss the rest of the season. That let's Justin Strnad step into the starting lineup and makes him a deep-league option for IDP rosters. Alexander Johnson, meanwhile, should see his scoring floor rise as a better bet to lead the position in playing time.

Colts QB Carson Wentz injured both of his ankles in Sunday's loss to the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Wentz is undergoing tests today to determine the severity of the injuries. We'll update his status when we know more. The entire Colts offense would need to be downgraded if they're forced to go with QB Jacob Eason.

The belief is that Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is dealing with bruised ribs. But he's scheduled for additional testing on Monday to check for any associated cartilage damage, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That could keep Tagovailoa out for "the next couple of games," Rapoport adds. We should get another update on Tua's injury later today.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook was in and out of Sunday's loss to the Cardinals. HC Mike Zimmer said afterward that Cook sprained his ankle but "didn’t seem too concerned about the severity," according to ESPN's Courtney Cronin. We'll look for further updates on Cook and monitor his practice participation this coming week.

Jaguars WR Laviska Shenault suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday's loss to the Broncos. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that he'll have an MRI Monday. We'll see about the severity of the issue.

Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey (back) is active for tonight's game against the Chiefs. Use him if you planned to in your IDP lineup.

Ravens WR Marquise Brown (ankle) is active for tonight’s game against the Chiefs. He only got in 1 limited practice this week, leaving him as a risky fantasy play. WR Devin Duvernay (groin) is also active for Baltimore.

The Browns believe WR Jarvis Landry is dealing with an MCL injury. He'll undergo an MRI on the knee on Monday, so we should get a timetable for his return then.

Bears HC Matt Nagy said after the win over the Bengals that he's "pretty sure" QB Andy Dalton's knee injury isn't to his ACL. So that's good. Dalton is scheduled for an MRI on Monday, so we'll learn more then. QB Justin Fields was up and down in relief of QB Andy Dalton today. He completed 6 of 13 passes for 60 yards and a bad INT. But he added 31 yards on 10 carries. Fields needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues.

Texans QB Tyrod Taylor (hamstring) won't play against the Panthers on Thursday night, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Taylor is getting an MRI on that hamstring on Monday but won't be ready on the short turnaround. That puts QB Davis Mills in line to make his 1st start. The rookie went 8-of-18 for 102 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT in today's loss to the Browns.

Colts QB Carson Wentz told reporters after Sunday's loss to the Rams that he sprained his ankle. “I’ve sprained my ankle probably 100 times since I was a kid," Wentz said. "This one, I just couldn’t play on it.” The severity and location of the sprain will determine how long Wentz is out. We should learn more tomorrow.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said after the game that WR Jarvis Landry suffered an MCL injury and will have an MRI, according to Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland. We'll see about the severity of the injury.

According to multiple reports, the Eagles fear that DE Brandon Graham tore his left Achilles' tendon in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. We'll see about the official diagnosis, but such "fears" tend to be realized.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson injured his right knee on the final play of Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. He needed help from trainers to get off the field. We'll look for an update.

49ers RB JaMycal Hasty injured an ankle in the 2nd half of Sunday's game against the Eagles and is officially questionable to return. RB Trey Sermon, meanwhile, is being evaluated for a concussion after losing a fumble on his 1st carry of the season. RB Elijah Mitchell at least returned for San Francisco after hurting his shoulder.
