Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Browns WR Jarvis Landry suffered a knee injury in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. Houston and is officially questionable to return. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: Landry has been ruled out for the game.

Steelers LB Devin Bush (groin) is inactive for today's game against the Raiders. His absence boosts the tackle upside for LB Joe Schobert. CB Joe Haden (groin) is also inactive, leaving Pittsburgh without it's lead cover man.

Raiders DE Yannick Ngakoue (hamstring) and DE Carl Nassib (pec, toe) are active for today's game against the Steelers. Each entered the day questionable. Ngakoue is in play for IDP use, but the hamstring certainly adds risk.

Colts S Khari Willis (illness) and DE Kwity Paye (hamstring) are active for today's game against the Rams. Willis makes for a solid start in this game. Paye sits well down our list of options on the D-line, though, and carries some risk with the hammy.

Niners DE Arik Armstead (adductor) and DT Javon Kinlaw (knee) are active for today's game against the Eagles. Each player entered the day questionable. Their presence obviously helps, though it's still not a worrisome matchup for QB Jalen Hurts or RB Miles Sanders.

Saints CB Marshon Lattimore (hand), CB Chauncey Gardner-Johnson (knee) and DE Tanoh Kpassagnon (calf) are inactive for today's game against the Panthers. That leaves New Orleans without 2 of its top 3 corners. They will get former Texans CB Bradley Roby into the lineup for the 1st time after he spent Week 1 finishing up a suspension that carried over from last season. Kpassagnon is a rotational player, but his loos could be amplified by the defense already missing starting DE Marcus Davenport (IR). Overall, the Saints have already lost starters at every level of the defense vs. last week's lineup. That can only be good news for the Panthers offense.

Broncos OLB Bradley Chubb (ankle) is active for today's game against the Jaguars. Don't be surprised, though, if his snaps are limited in his 1st action of the season.

11:09am EDT 9/19/21

Texans TE Pharaoh Brown (ankle, shoulder) is active for today’s game against the Browns. He split work with TE Jordan Akins in the opener, leaving both guys without any bankable fantasy value.

Browns WR Anthony Schwartz (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. The rookie was surprisingly involved in the opener, catching 3 of 5 targets for 69 yards and carrying once for 17 yards. But he played just 53% of the offensive snaps and still can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups.

11:09am EDT 9/19/21

Patriots TE Jonnu Smith (hip) is active for today’s game vs. the Jets. He was added to the injury report on Thursday, limited in the final 2 practices of the week and listed as questionable. So Smith carries elevated risk in fantasy lineups today.

Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson is a healthy scratch for today’s game vs. the Jets. The rookie fumbled and blew a blitz pickup in the opener. RB J.J. Taylor is active in Stevenson’s place, but RB Damien Harris should dominate carries for New England.

11:09am EDT 9/19/21

49ers RB Trey Sermon is active for today’s game against the Eagles. The rookie, of course, was a healthy scratch behind Raheem Mostert, Elijah Mitchell and JaMycal Hasty for the opener. Mostert is done for the season, but Mitchell, Hasty and Trenton Cannon are active today. Your guess as to how much work Sermon will receive is as good as our’s. Mitchell is expected to "carry the load," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Rams. He’s a shaky fantasy play vs. a defense that allowed the fewest fantasy points to WRs last year and limited the Bears WRs in this year’s opener. WR Parris Campbell (abdomen) is inactive.

Bears WR Darnell Mooney (back) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He was listed as questionable but put in a full week of practice, so the back shouldn’t be an issue. Mooney has a plus matchup vs. the Bengals CBs, but his upside is capped with Andy Dalton under center. WR Marquise Goodwin (quad) is also active for Chicago after being listed as questionable.

Jets WRs Jamison Crowder (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Patriots. WR Keelan Cole (knee) is active. We’ll see how snaps are divvied behind Corey Davis and Elijah Moore.

11:09am EDT 9/19/21

Bills RB Zack Moss is active for today’s game against the Dolphins. HC Sean McDermott said this week that Moss was scratched for the opener after dealing with injuries during August -- but that he had a good week of practice leading up to this one. We’ll see how big a role Moss plays, but he shouldn’t be in Week 2 fantasy lineups. His return lowers RB Devin Singletary’s fantasy floor and ceiling, though.

11:09am EDT 9/19/21

Bills WR Gabriel Davis (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Dolphins. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. Davis scored in the opener but was Buffalo’s clear #4 WR in terms of playing time. He remains a low-floor fantasy play.

Jets WR Denzel Mims will be a healthy scratch vs. the Patriots today, according to insider Brian Costello. Mims played just 3 snaps in the opener, so there's no fantasy impact here. Mims might be on the move before this year's trade deadline.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that 49ers RB Elijah Mitchell is expected to "carry the load" in today's game against the Eagles. Rapoport adds that both RBs Trey Sermon and JaMycal Hasty will play, but it sounds like Mitchell is in for another hefty workload. He's an upside fantasy play today.

Bears QB Justin Fields is expected to see "increased snaps" in today's game vs. the Bengals, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "Fields is growing every day," Rapoport adds. "There are 'wow' moments, 'wow' throws every single day in practice." The rookie played 5 snaps in the opener, completing both of his passes for 10 yards and scoring a 3-yard rushing TD. It's only a matter of time before he takes over as Chicago's starter. Current starter Andy Dalton obviously shouldn't be in Week 2 fantasy lineups.
