Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Packers QB Jordan Love's "initial timetable" for return is 3-6 weeks. "And there's some early optimism he could return sooner than later, pending a second opinion," Pelissero adds. Green Bay's bye isn't until Week 10, so that shouldn't factor into Love's return date. It sounds like we should plan on him missing at least the next three games vs. Indianapolis, at Tennessee, and vs. Minnesota. It's worth noting that the Packers medical staff has historically been cautious in bringing players back from injury.
Packers QB Jordan Love has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. There's no damage to Love's ACL. It's relatively good news, but Rapoport confirms that Love "should miss some time." We'll look for a timetable for his return.
Packers WR Romeo Doubs’ frame and starting role appears to have him set to be the main receiver target in the red zone. Last season, Doubs and WR Jayden Reed tied with 17 red-zone targets each. Speculation has Doubs’ red zone targets increasing this year.
Jordan Love and the Packers have agreed to a 4-year extension worth $220 million with a record-setting $75 million signing bonus and $155 million in new full guarantees. Love will now be under contract in Green Bay until 2028. This ties Love with Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence for the highest annual salary in league history at $55 million.
Packers WR Christian Watson spent eight hours testing his troublesome right hamstring at the University of Wisconsin's School of Medicine and Public Health this offseason. The testing revealed that the root cause of the issue was a muscle imbalance in his legs. Watson believes he's made significant progress toward solving the problem.
Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) is active for today's Wild Card game vs. the Cowboys. He was reportedly a true game-time decision after a limited week of practice. When Watson returned from his first hamstring injury of the season back in Week 4, he played just 46% of Green Bay's offensive snaps. It's certainly possible that he's on a limited snap count again today.
Packers WR Christian Watson will test his injured hamstring in pre-game warmups before a decision is made on his availability for today's Wild Card game vs. the Cowboys, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "For the first time in a month, there is some optimism that he can go," Rapoport adds. "But the workout is key." We'd expect Watson to be on some type of snap count if he does end up playing. We'll get Green Bay's inactives around 3 pm ET today.
Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Cowboys. We're tentatively expecting Watson to suit up but play limited snaps. We'll look for further updates on his status. WR Romeo Doubs (chest) is off the final injury report and should be ready for his normal role on Sunday.
Packers WRs Jayden Reed (chest) and Dontayvion Wicks (chest) are active for today’s game vs. the Bears. WR Christian Watson (hamstring) is inactive. Reed, Wicks, and Romeo Doubs should operate as Green Bay’s top three WRs vs. a Chicago defense missing top CB Jaylon Johnson.
Packers WRs Jayden Reed (chest), Christian Watson (hamstring), and Dontayvion Wicks (chest) are all listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Bears. Wicks put in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so he should play. Reed was limited all week, but we’re tentatively expecting him to play. Watson got in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday before taking a planned day off on Friday. “We felt he had two good days of practice and wanted to give him today and we’ll see where he’s at on Sunday,” HC Matt LaFleur said of Watson on Friday. Watson would be a risky fantasy play if he ends up active for the Bears game.
Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) was limited in Wednesday's practice. It was his first official practice since going down back in Week 13. "My passion is playing football and now it’s looking a lot like I’m going to be able to play some football this Sunday," Watson said. "I’m in a really good spot." We'll keep tabs on Watson's progress over the next few days. He was rolling before this hamstring injury but would be tough to trust in Week 18 fantasy lineups coming off a lengthy absence.
Packers WRs Christian Watson (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (chest, ankle) are inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Vikings. Jayden Reed is back after missing last week and should lead this WR corps tonight. Romeo Doubs joins Reed as Green Bay’s top two WRs, with Malik Heath, Bo Melton, and Samori Toure behind them.
Packers WR Jayden Reed (toe, chest) put in three limited practices this week and is not listed on the final injury report for Sunday night’s game vs. the Vikings. WR Christian Watson (hamstring) is doubtful, while Dontayvion Wicks (chest, ankle) is questionable but didn’t practice all week. It’ll likely be Reed and Romeo Doubs as Green Bay’s clear top two WRs in Minnesota.
Packers WR Jayden Reed (toe, chest) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. It's an upgrade over last week, when he missed all three practices. We're tentatively expecting Reed back for Sunday night's game vs. the Vikings, but we'll keep you updated on his status. WRs Christian Watson (hamstring) and Dontayvion Wicks (chest, ankle) did not practice on Wednesday.
Packers WRs Christian Watson (hamstring) and Jayden Reed (toe, chest) are inactive for today’s game vs. the Panthers. WR Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) is active and should be a near every-down player alongside WR Romeo Doubs. See where the Packers WRs land in the Week 16 Rankings.
Packers WR Christian Watson (hamstring) remained sidelined in practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 17.
Packers WRs Christian Watson (hamstring) and Jayden Reed (toe, chest) did not practice on Wednesday. Both guys are looking iffy for this weekend's game vs. the Panthers. Their absences would leave Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks as Green Bay's top two WRs.
