Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Bengals WR Tee Higgins (hamstring) is not listed on the final Week 14 injury report. He was added to the injury report and limited in Thursday’s practice and then limited again on Friday. But HC Zac Taylor confirmed Friday that Higgins is expected to play vs. the Browns this weekend. He seems safe to keep in Week 14 fantasy lineups.
Bengals RB Joe Mixon (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. We're expecting Mixon to step back into a similar role to the one he had before missing the last 2 games. He's a RB1 play against a bad Cleveland run defense.
Bengals TE Hayden Hurst (calf) didn't practice all week and is out for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. Mitchell Wilcox figures to step in as Cincinnati's lead TE but isn't a realistic fantasy option. Hurst's absence should just mean a few extra targets to be spread between Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon.
Jaguars WR Zay Jones (chest) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Titans. He played through this issue last week and should be fine for this one. But check back around 11:30 am ET on Sunday to make sure Jones is active.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (toe) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Titans. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. It sounds like Lawrence will play on Sunday, but it’s clear that he’ll be operating at less than 100%. That adds risk to his Week 14 fantasy profile.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (neck) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Eagles. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and then limited again in Friday’s practice. HC Brian Daboll said Friday that Barkley’s neck is “a little sore” and said, “I hope so” when asked whether Barkley will play this weekend. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, for what it’s worth, said that he’d be surprised if Barkley didn’t play. We’ll look for further updates on the situation and will get the Giants’ inactives around 11:30 am on Sunday. RB Matt Breida would be the best bet for carries in New York if Barkley doesn’t play.
Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (knee) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Steelers. The team is evidently still holding out hope that Jackson will show enough improvement over the next 48 hours to play, but it's a big long shot. QB Tyler Huntley figures to get the start.
Titans TE Treylon Burks (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. That leaves Robert Woods and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine as Tennessee’s top 2 WRs – and could mean more targets for TEs Austin Hooper and Chig Okonkwo.
Browns TE David Njoku (knee) practiced all week and isn't listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. "Dave has looked like himself," HC Kevin Stefanski said Friday. "He looks good." Njoku still carries at least slightly elevated risk coming off this knee injury, but he belongs in plenty of fantasy lineups considering the sorry state of the TE position.
Steelers RB Najee Harris (oblique) is not listed on the final Week 14 injury report. He got in a full practice on Friday and should be ready for his usual role vs. the Ravens this weekend.
Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Ravens. He got in just limited practices on Wednesday and Friday, so it’s safe to assume that he won’t be at 100% if he plays on Sunday. Johnson, of course, has been a major fantasy disappointment even when healthy this season.
Browns WR Amari Cooper (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. Cooper injured his hip on Thursday and then wasn't able to practice on Friday. ESPN's Jake Trotter asked Cooper on Friday afternoon if he'll be available for Sunday's game and Cooper replied, "should be." We'll get Cleveland's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. If Cooper does play, he'll carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups.
X-rays on Raiders RB Josh Jacobs' pinkie came back clean during Thursday night's loss to the Rams, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That was the assumption considering Jacobs was allowed to re-enter the game. He's still scheduled for additional testing on the finger, though, so he's not quite out of the woods yet. We'll update Jacobs' status when we know more. Rookie RB Zamir White would likely take over as Vegas' lead ball carrier if Jacobs misses time, with RB Ameer Abdullah playing in passing situations.
Panthers RB D'Onta Foreman (foot) is not listed on the final injury report for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks. He went from no practice on Wednesday to limited participation on Thursday to a full practice on Friday. So he should be ready for his usual workload on Sunday. Foreman has been a volatile fantasy producer since the Christian McCaffrey trade, but this is a plus matchup against Seattle's 29th-ranked RB defense.
Cowboys WR James Washington (foot) is "ready to go" for this weekend's game vs. the Texans, HC Mike McCarthy said Friday. Washington has been out since breaking his right foot in training camp on August 1. He's certainly not a Week 14 fantasy option -- and likely won't be the rest of the season. But we'll keep an eye on his usage.
Raiders RB Josh Jacobs hurt his right hand in the 2nd half of Thursday night's game against the Rams. He's officially questionable to return.
Update: Jacobs did return in the 3rd quarter.
Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (groin) did not practice on Thursday. WR Greg Dortch (hand) was a full participant, so he should be ready for Monday night's game vs. the Patriots. If Moore misses that one, Dortch will be in the PPR WR3 discussion.
Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers is in the concussion protocol and did not practice on Thursday. We'll track his status over the next few days and see if he can get cleared in time to play vs. the Cardinals on Monday night. Meyers owners should obviously be making other plans for now, though.
Patriots RB Damien Harris (thigh) did not practice on Thursday. He seems unlikely to play vs. the Cardinals on Monday night, which would again leave RB Rhamondre Stevenson in an every-down role.
Chargers WR Mike Williams (ankle) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. That should put him in line to play vs. the Dolphins on Sunday night. Williams originally suffered this high-ankle sprain in Week 7 and then lasted just 6 snaps before aggravating the issue in Week 11. That makes him a risky Week 14 fantasy play -- although he certainly boasts plenty of upside if he can make it through the game healthy.
