Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The MRI on Vikings RB Dalvin Cook's left shoulder revealed a torn labrum, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's not a season-ending injury. "The hope is this is like 2019, when the team rests Cook a few games to have him healthy for a playoff run," Rapoport adds. Cook missed 2 games with that shoulder injury, which is what former NFL head team Dr. David Chao expects him to miss this time around. That'd put Cook back on the field for Week 15, giving starts to RB Alexander Mattison the next 2 weeks vs. the Lions and Steelers.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel is expected to miss "a little time" with the groin injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Vikings, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. But "it’s not considered a major injury," Rapoport adds. We'll look for more details on the situation, but it sounds like fantasy owners should at least plan on being without Deebo in Week 13.

Cowboys HC Mike McCarthy tested positive for COVID and will miss Thursday night's game vs. the Saints, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. McCarthy is 1 of 8 members of the Cowboys to test positive, Schefter adds. It's unclear how many are players. We'll keep you updated.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Jaguars TE Dan Arnold suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain in his right knee Sunday against the Falcons and will miss 4-6 weeks. The timing -- with just 5 games remaining -- means it could end his season. Whether he makes it back or not, Arnold is certainly droppable in nearly all redraft formats. James O'Shaughnessy figures to be the next guy up at the position but likely falls short of Arnold's upside. O'Shaughnessy, after all, was already on the team when Jacksonville acquired Arnold from the Panthers earlier this season and vaulted him quickly to the top of the depth chart. Arnold's absence leaves behind a nearly 20% share of targets to be distributed. WR Laviska Shenault could be a prime beneficiary. Jamal Agnew's season-ending hip injury in Week 11 moved Shenault back into the primary slot role Sunday.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey's ankle injury "doesn't seem major," NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says. That's the vibe we've gotten since CMC exited in the 1st half of Sunday's blowout loss to the Dolphins. McCaffrey is scheduled for additional testing, so we should get another update on his status later today. He gets a well-timed Week 13 bye and seemingly has a chance to be ready for Week 14.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook has been playing through a torn labrum in his right shoulder, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It was the left shoulder that Cook dislocated in the Week 12 loss to the 49ers. Cook has a long history of shoulder problems dating back to his Florida State days. We should learn more about the right shoulder injury and how long Cook will be sidelined later today.

Niners LB Fred Warner left Sunday's game against the Vikings with a hamstring injury. Keiana Martin of the team website reports that Warner will have an MRI on Monday.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook dislocated his left shoulder in Sunday's loss to the 49ers, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Cook is set for an MRI on Monday to determine how much damage was caused by the dislocation. We should learn more about his status on Monday.

49ers WR Deebo Samuel injured his groin in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. He's officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook suffered a shoulder injury in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the 49ers. He was in obvious pain, was carted back to the locker room and quickly ruled out. We'll update Cook's status when we know more, but this clearly looks like a potentially serious injury. Alexander Mattison will be a RB1 for however long Cook is out.

        7:07pm UTC 11/28/21

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (calf) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Ravens. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning that Hunt is expected to be “eased in” in his first action since Week 6.

Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Ravens. He only got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday, so DPJ figures to be operating at less than 100%. WR Rashard Higgins is a healthy scratch tonight.

        7:06pm UTC 11/28/21

Ravens WR Marquise Brown (thigh) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Browns. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, so Brown probably still isn’t at 100%. But if you waited on him, get him in your fantasy lineup.

Packers WR Randall Cobb suffered a groin injury in the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. the Rams and won't return. He was having a big one before exiting, catching 4 balls for 95 yards and a score. Cobb's absence leaves Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Allen Lazard as Green Bay's 2nd and 3rd WRs.

Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater left Sunday's game in the 1st quarter with a leg injury. He went back to the locker room for further evaluation. We'll post an update when we learn more.

UPDATE: Bridgewater returned in the 3rd quarter.

Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey rolled his left ankle near the end of the 1st half of Sunday's game vs. Miami. The team never officially announced an injury, but McCaffrey didn’t record a touch in the 2nd half. HC Matt Rhule said afterward that McCaffrey tried to re-enter but couldn’t get comfortable on the ankle. He now gets a Week 13 bye to heal up.

Broncos RB Melvin Gordon hurt his hip on the first possession of Sunday's game vs. the Chargers and is questionable to return. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: Gordon returned on Denver's 2nd possession.

49ers RB Elijah Mitchell (finger) is active for today’s game vs. the Vikings. It’ll be his first action since undergoing finger surgery 12 days ago. Mitchell still has a pin in that finger, and it’s uncertain how it’ll impact his role and play today. Consider Mitchell a risk/reward RB2 in a plus matchup vs. a banged-up Minnesota run defense.

        2:57pm UTC 11/28/21

Packers WR Allen Lazard (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. He’s not a real fantasy option, but his return puts a slight dent in WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling’s target projection.

        2:57pm UTC 11/28/21

Packers RB Aaron Jones (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Rams. He’s 2 weeks removed from spraining his MCL and was limited in practice all week. It’s completely unclear how big a role Jones will play today, leaving him as a risky fantasy play. Don’t be surprised if RB A.J. Dillon ends up with more touches.
