Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

The Giants didn't ask QB Daniel Jones to do too much in Sunday's win over the Texans. They dropped him back just 23 times vs. 44 team rushing attempts. Jones took 3 sacks but went 13 of 17 passing for 197 yards (11.6 per attempt) and 2 TDs. He found WR Darius Slayton for a 54-yard score in the 3rd quarter and TE Lawrence Cager for a 9-yard TD. Jones added 24 rushing yards on 5 attempts. He's had just 1 other game of fewer than 21 pass attempts all season and had thrown 27+ passes in 4 straight before the Houston game. Expect a rebound in passing volume, though Week 11 holds another positive rushing matchup with Detroit. Slayton (3-95-1) and TE Tanner Hudson (3-24) were the only Giants to catch more than 2 balls vs. the Texans.

Giants RB Saquon Barkley racked up 35 carries in Sunday's win over the Texans, more than doubling the team's pass attempts (17). He tallied 152 yards and a TD on the ground, adding 1 catch for 8 yards. It marked the 4th straight game of 20+ rushes for Barkley and his 2nd game this season with more than 30 attempts. Let's hope -- for the sake of his health -- that the Giants don't continue to work Barkley quite so hard. A Week 11 home date with a soft Lions defense should find him busy once again, though.

Despite the return of disgruntled veteran WR Brandin Cooks, 2nd-year WR Nico Collins led the team in targets (10) and catches (5) in Sunday's loss to the Giants. Collins also played more snaps (50-41) than Cooks and ran more routes (33-26). Collins took his 5 receptions for 49 yards, ranking 3rd behind TE Jordan Akins (3-72) and WR Chris Moore (3-70). Collins did claim the team's only TD reception. Moore tied Cooks for 2nd on the team in pass routes, with Akins and WR Phillip Dorsett just 5 routes behind. Cooks will need to pick back up in that area to comfortably reside in fantasy WR3 territory going forward. To be fair, he did catch a 19-yard TD in the 4th quarter Sunday that was nullified by a holding penalty. A Week 11 matchup with the Commanders presents upside for the Houston passing game.

Texans QB Davis Mills threw for 319 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT on 22-of-37 passing in Sunday's loss to the Giants. He found Nico Collins for his lone score while spreading the completions among 8 receivers. It marked just the 2nd time Mills has reached 300 yards this season. His other 7 outings have all checked in under 250. The 2nd-year QB will face a pass-funnel Commanders defense in Week 11 that could boost his numbers.

Texxans RB Dameon Pierce tallied 94 yards on 17 carries in Sunday's loss to the Giants, his 5th game of 90+ rushing yards in the past 6 contests. The rookie added 2 catches for 28 yards among 3 targets. He'll face a tougher matchup against Washington in Week 11. The Commanders entered Week 10 ranked 2nd in Football Outsiders' run-defense DVOA and 5th-toughest on RBs by our adjusted fantasy points allowed.

Bears RB Khalil Herbert beat David Montgomery by 1 carry and 20 yards in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Lions. Herbert rushed 10 times for 57 yards, while Montgomery went for 37 yards on 9 attempts. Montgomery drew the only target between them, catching it for 7 yards. A Week 11 trip to Atlanta presents positive conditions for both players, though QB Justin Fields' rushing rebirth has lowered the ceiling for the RBs.

Bears TE Cole Kmet caught 4 balls for 74 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's narrow loss to the Lions. He drew a team-high 7 targets and accounted for the Bears' only 2 receiving scores, including 1 from 50 yards out. WR Darnell Mooney was the only other Chicago player to catch more than 1 ball. Mooney snagged all 4 of his targets for 57 yards. Atlanta presents a positive fantasy-scoring matchup for all aspects of the Bears offense in Week 11.

Bears QB Justin Fields ran for 147 yards and 2 TDs on a team-high 13 carries in Sunday's 31-30 loss to the Lions. He added 167 yards and 2 more TDs (plus an INT) on 12-of-20 passing. Fields found TE Cole Kmet with both of his TD throws, completing 4 passes apiece to Kmet and WR Darnell Mooney. He now owns the largest and 7th-largest single-game rushing totals all time among QBs. Fields will remain a must-start for a Week 11 trip to Atlanta.

Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown racked up 10 catches and 119 yards in Sunday's win over the Bears, on a team-high 11 targets. Detroit's lead receiver drew 42.3% of QB Jared Goff's pass attempts, claimed 52.6% of the team's completions and delivered 50.4% of the receiving yards. WR Kalif Raymond (3) and RB Justin Jackson (2) were the only other Lions to catch multiple passes. Goff finished 19 of 26 for 236 yards, 1 TD and 0 INTs. St. Brown added 1 carry for 2 yards.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift continued to see limited work in Sunday's narrow victory over the Bears. He carried just 6 times for 6 yards but scored a 9-yard TD to boost his fantasy day. (That means, of course, that his other 5 rushes combined to lose 3 yards.) Swift added just 1 reception among 3 targets in a game that found only 3 Lions catching multiple passes. RB Jamaal Williams led the backfield once again with 16 carries for 59 yards and a TD. Justin Jackson claimed the backfield's other 3 targets, catching 2 for 14 yards. Swift declined to speak with the media last week and was reportedly angry with his low level of usage. We'll see if HC Dan Campbell reveals any change to his plan heading into next Sunday's visit to the Giants.

Cardinals TE Zach Ertz exited in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Rams with a left knee injury. He's officially questionable to return, but Ertz was carted back to the locker room, so don't expect to see him back out there. His absence leaves rookie Trey McBride as Arizona's lead TE.

Bears RB Khalil Herbert was knocked out by a hip injury late in Sunday's loss to the Lions. We'll update his status when we know more.

Colts beat writer Zak Keefer tweeted that it “appears” QB Matt Ryan will start today against the Raiders. Ryan was seen taking snaps with starting C Ryan Kelly in pre-game warmups. We’ve updated projections to account for the news.

Rams QB Matt Stafford (concussion) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. He returned to a limited practice on Friday and figures to be cleared in plenty of time for Week 11. QB John Wolford makes his 2nd career start today. The 1st also came against Arizona at the end of the 2020 season. Wolford completed just 58% of his passes for 231 scoreless yards in that one but added 56 yards on 6 carries. He’s a low-end QB2 and an obvious downgrade for this passing game. See where Wolford and the rest of the Rams sit in the Week 10 Rankings.

Colts EDGE Kwity Paye (ankle) is active for today’s game against the Raiders.

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Rams. He was reportedly a game-time decision, so expect him back for Week 11, barring a setback next week. QB Colt McCoy gets the start today. He averaged 228 yards and 1 TD on a 76% completion rate and 7.6 yards per attempt across 3 starts for Arizona last year. McCoy is just a low-end QB2 but should at least give this offense a shot to move the ball today.

Raiders LB Denzel Perryman (hip, ribs) is inactive for today’s game against the Colts. That leaves Vegas without its top 3 LBs from last week’s lineup. Veteran Jayon Brown looks like the best bet to lead the corps this week, though it’s a guess after he spent the past 2 games as a healthy scratch

Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. He got in 3 limited practices this week, so we’re tentatively expecting him to return for Week 11. The Cowboys showed last time out that they don’t want to make RB Tony Pollard a workhorse. But he still projects for 15-20 touches in a plus matchup, landing him inside RB1 territory in the Week 10 Rankings.

2:42pm EST 11/13/22

Cardinals K Matt Prater (illness, hip) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Rams. Tristan Vizcaino will kick for Arizona but isn’t a great fantasy option.

2:37pm EST 11/13/22

Colts TE Mo Alie-Cox (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Raiders. He joins Kylen Granson in the TE corps, with TE Jelani Woods (shoulder) out.
