Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He’s the best bet to lead Baltimore RBs in carries today, but it’s tough to know exactly what the backfield split will look like between Edwards, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill.
Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is officially inactive for today’s game vs. the Titans. He got in 3 limited practices this week and seems to be trending toward a Week 13 return.
Bears QB Justin Fields (shoulder) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Jets. He got in 3 limited practices this week, so we’ll see if he can get cleared for Week 13. QB Trevor Siemian makes his 30th career start today. He owns a 59% completion rate and 6.6 yards-per-attempt average. Chicago figures to throw it at least a bit more with Siemian under center, but we wouldn’t consider this an upgrade for anyone on the offense.
Free-agent WR Odell Beckham has visits scheduled with the Giants, Cowboys and Bills, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's likely that he ends up signing with 1 of those 3 teams. Beckham has reportedly received full medical clearance from February's torn ACL -- but he still has work to do to get back into football shape, per Rapoport. We remain skeptical that Beckham will be a reliable fantasy play during the regular season, so he's not a priority bench stash.
Browns QB Deshaun Watson has complied with the terms of his suspension and is on track to start Week 13's game against the Texans, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Next Sunday will mark exactly 700 days since Watson's last NFL game. He was allowed to return to the team facility on October 10 and has been allowed to practice for the past 2 weeks. Watson has been getting "a few reps" with the 1st-team offense but taking most of his snaps with the scout team, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Watson would be a risky Week 13 fantasy play considering how long he's been out. But he's worth rostering in fantasy leagues of 10+ teams and could be a recommended starter as early as Week 14. Watson has a neutral schedule from Weeks 14 through 17: at Bengals, vs. Ravens, vs. Saints, at Commanders.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Rams are "uncertain when or if" QB Matthew Stafford will return this season. Stafford is out for today's game at Kansas City with a neck strain. He has also landed in the league concussion protocol twice, though HC Sean McVay says the 2nd concussion hasn't been confirmed. It's easy to forget that we were all concerned about an issue with Stafford's right elbow entering the season. Throw in his myriad physical issues and a 3-7 record -- which will almost certainly add a loss to the Chiefs -- and it would make sense to let Stafford take the rest of the year off.
ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (calf) "likely" to play against the Seahawks today, barring a pregame setback. Jacobs was added to the injury report on Friday and listed as questionable, which certainly adds risk to his Week 12 fantasy profile. But he'd be tough to bench if he ends up active. Raiders-Seahawks doesn't kick off until 4:05 pm ET, so Jacobs owners would be wise to have a late-game alternative lined up just in case Jacobs ends up missing this one.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and ESPN's Adam Schefter report that 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Saints today, barring a pregame setback. "He looked like himself on Friday," Rapoport adds. Samuel still carries some elevated risk in Week 12 fantasy lineups after being limited in practice all week and listed as questionable.
Rams WR Allen Robinson (foot) is "not likely" to play vs. the Chiefs today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Robinson was set to serve as Los Angeles' de facto #1 WR with Cooper Kupp out. Los Angeles is now down to WRs Van Jefferson, Ben Skowronek, Brandon Powell, Tutu Atwell and Lance McCutcheon. TE Tyler Higbee is the favorite to lead the team in targets today -- but this is a passing game to try to avoid with QB Bryce Perkins likely making his 1st career start.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is not expected to play vs. the Titans today. He's seemingly making good progress with his rehab and should tentatively be expected back for Week 13. His absence today boosts the target projections for WRs Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd.
Ravens WRs Demarcus Robinson (hip) and Devin Duvernay (hamstring) are expected to play vs. the Jaguars today, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Both guys were listed as questionable, although Robinson was a full-go in Friday's practice. Duvernay was added to the injury report on Friday and looks like the riskier of these 2 guys from a health standpoint.
Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is expected to play vs. the Jaguars today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Edwards got in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so he should be at least close to 100%. Edwards led Baltimore's backfield with 16 carries in his lone full game this season, but it's unclear exactly what the backfield split between Edwards, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill will look like today.
The Commanders expect TE Logan Thomas (rib, illness) to play Sunday against the Falcons. We'll watch for confirmation when the early-game inactives come out.
Commanders EDGE Chase Young is not expected to play Sunday against the Falcons, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. He's officially questionable and will participate in warmups. We'll need to see Young in game action before considering him for IDP lineups.
Cardinals WR Greg Dortch (thumb) is not expected to play Sunday against the Chargers, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. That will leave Arizona without its top 2 slot WRs. That leaves target opportunity for TE Trey McBride.
The Bears have not yet ruled QB Justin Fields out for Sunday's game against the Jets, but multiple reports say he's not expected to play. That means it'll almost certainly be Trevor Siemian vs. Mike White in this electrifying offensive matchup. Try to look elsewhere for fantasy upside when possible.
Colts TE Kylen Granson was limited in practice all week with an illness and is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Steelers. Indianapolis would be left with TEs Mo Alie-Cox and Jelani Woods if Granson is unable to play. Continue avoiding the situation in season-long leagues.
Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (hamstring) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Colts. The rookie lasted just 3 snaps last week -- and RB Najee Harris ended up racking up 20 carries and 6 targets on a 92% snap rate. He could be in for similar usage on Monday.
Titans K Randy Bullock (calf) has been downgraded to out for Week 12. Caleb Shudak will kick vs. Cincinnati but isn't a recommended fantasy play with Tennessee sporting a 20.75-point implied total.
Ravens WR DeSean Jackson has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars. Jackson lasted just 11 snaps in his 1 and only game with Baltimore back in Week 9 before injuring his hamstring. He was targeted twice on those 11 snaps, though, and could step into a significant role tomorrow with TE Isaiah Likely out and WRs Demarcus Robinson and Devin Duvernay banged up. Jackson isn't a realistic season-long option but could be an interesting DFS tournament flier.
