Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury said Monday that "it's going to be close" for QB Kyler Murray (ankle) to be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks. Murray returned to a limited practice on Friday but didn't seem close to playing vs. the Panthers. The Cardinals have a Week 12 bye, so they could get Murray 2 more weeks of rest if they hold him out this weekend. But the ugly loss last week might push the team to get Murray back out there. We'll keep you updated on his progress throughout this week.

Patriots RB Damien Harris was listed as a non-participant on Monday's injury report. New England didn't actually practice, but the fact that Harris would have been sidelined if they had means he still has multiple stages of the concussion protocol to pass through. We'll get another update on his progress tomorrow ahead of Thursday night's game vs. the Falcons.

Rams WR Odell Beckham is active for tonight's game vs. the 49ers. He signed with Los Angeles on Thursday and joined the team on Friday, so don't expect him to be ready for a full workload tonight.

Steelers S Minkah Fitzpatrick has tested positive for COVID, putting his Week 11 status in doubt. The specifics of his case aren't yet clear for us to know whether he has a chance to make it back for next Sunday night's visit to the Chargers. If Fitzpatrick isn't vaccinated, he'll need to sit out for at least 10 days.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski labeled QB Baker Mayfield "day to day" with the knee contusion he suffered in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Further testing on Monday revealed no structural damage to that right knee. Mayfield figures to be ready for this weekend's game vs. the Lions, but we'll monitor his status throughout the week.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that tests on the knee and hip injuries for Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt came back negative. "It is uncertain how much, if any, time Watt will miss," Schefter added. This is obviously good news if Watt resides on your IDP roster, as it sounds like there's a chance he won't miss any further game action. We'll watch how he progresses through the week. Derrek Tuszka served as the primary fill-in after Watt left Sunday's game.

Chiefs HC Andy Reid said Monday that RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (knee) has a "pretty good chance" to return for this weekend's game vs. the Cowboys. CEH got back to practice last week after going down back in Week 5. It's unclear what kind of role Edwards-Helaire will be returning to, though, after RB Darrel Williams played well in his absence.

Dolphins HC Brian Flores named QB Tua Tagovailoa his Week 11 starter on Monday. Tagovailoa replaced QB Jacoby Brissett in the 3rd quarter of Thursday night's game and didn't seem bothered by that small fracture in his right middle finger, completing 8 of 13 passes for 158 yards. We'll keep an eye on his practice participation level this week, but Tua gets a nice matchup on Sunday vs. the Jets' bottom-5 pass defense.

Washington HC Ron Rivera confirmed to reporters Monday that DE Chase Young tore his right ACL in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers. That will end Young's season. We'll see how it affects his prep for the 2022 season. With DE Montez Sweat also out for at least another 2 games with his broken jaw, James Smith-Williams and Casey Toohill look like the top 2 DEs for Washington.

Panthers HC Matt Rhule said Monday that QB Cam Newton will get most of the 1st-team practice reps this week. It's confirmation that the team is hoping he'll be ready to start Sunday's game vs. Washington. Newton threw 4 passes yesterday, so we didn't get a good look at his arm. But he looked ready to make an impact with his legs. That rushing ability should make him at least a higher-end QB2 in fantasy lineups.

Packers RB Aaron Jones is expected to miss 1-2 weeks with a "mild" MCL sprain, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. It's just about the best news possible after Jones appeared to suffer a significant injury in the win over Seattle. Green Bay has a Week 13 bye, so the most likely scenario has Jones missing the next 2 games vs. the Vikings and Rams before returning in Week 14. He's worth hanging on to in fantasy football. RB A.J. Dillon, meanwhile, will be an easy top-20 RB while Jones is out.

Lions S Tracy Walker left Sunday's game with a concussion. If he can't complete the league protocol in time for next Sunday's visit to Cleveland, S Dean Marlowe would fill in next to Will Harris.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Packers RB Aaron Jones is expected to miss "some time" with his MCL injury. He's scheduled for an MRI on Monday. Rapoport went on to say Jones could miss "a couple weeks" but also mentioned that IR could be an option. We should have a better idea of Jones' timeline for return by the end of today. A.J. Dillon will be a strong fantasy starter for however long Jones is out.

Lions QB Jared Goff played through a 1st-quarter oblique injury in the Week 10 tie vs. the Steelers. "Just kind of nagged me a little bit throughout the game," Goff said afterward. "I felt like I was fine to stay in there and felt like it didn’t affect me throughout the game. But it’ll be a little sore tomorrow but I’ll be fine." It sounds like Goff will be available for this weekend's game vs. the Browns, but he'll again be a bottom-barrel QB2.

Broncos LB Baron Browning left Sunday's loss to the Eagles early with a back injury. Browning showed up on Thursday's injury report with a back issue that kept him out and then limited his Friday participation. HC Vic Fangio said after the game that he aggravated the existing back issue, according to the team website.

The Packers believe RB Aaron Jones sprained his MCL in the win over Seattle, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Jones is scheduled for additional testing on the injured knee. A sprained MCL would be relatively good news but would still likely cost Jones games. We should learn more tomorrow. RB A.J. Dillon will be a strong fantasy play for however long Jones is out.

Packers RB Aaron Jones injured his knee in the 2nd half of Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. He limped off the field and is officially questionable to return. Stay tuned for an update.

Update: Jones has been ruled out.

Cardinals QB Colt McCoy suffered a chest injury in the 2nd half of Sunday's game vs. Carolina and is officially questionable to return. QB Chris Streveler is in for Arizona. We'll update McCoy's status when we know more.

Steelers EDGE T.J. Watt left Sunday's game against the Lions with knee and hip injuries. He'll undergo further testing to determine the extent.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski expects QB Baker Mayfield (knee) to play Week 11. He said Mayfield is dealing with a knee contusion and could have gone back in the game vs. New England. Mayfield said afterward that x-rays on his right knee came back clean. He labeled himself "day to day." We'll keep an eye on him this coming week.
