Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Ravens RB Latavius Murray (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Vikings. Devonta Freeman, Le'Veon Bell and Ty'Son Williams will again share backfield duties. It’s a messy situation for fantasy football.

11:30am EST 11/7/21

Bills WR Cole Beasley (ribs) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, but we never sensed concern about his Week 9 status. Beasley is a WR3 with upside in today’s plus matchup.

Jaguars RB James Robinson (heel) is inactive for today’s game against the Bills. That leaves Carlos Hyde as Jacksonville’s lead back. The matchup is brutal, but Hyde should get 15+ touches, making him a viable RB3 or flex.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs, finger) will not start today's game vs. the Texans, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Tua reportedly didn't feel good enough during pre-game warmups to start, but he will be active as QB Jacoby Brissett's backup. It's a missed opportunity in an excellent matchup. Brissett was decent in 3 starts earlier this season, averaging 230 yards and 1.3 TDs on a 67% completion rate but just 5.8 yards per attempt. He's only in play in 2-QB and Superflex leagues and is a slight downgrade for Miami's offense.

Steelers K Chris Boswell (concussion) isn't listed on the final Week 9 injury report. He'll be available for Pittsburgh and your fantasy team on Monday night vs. the Bears.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Cowboys WRs CeeDee Lamb (ankle) and Amari Cooper (hamstring) will play vs. the Broncos today. Both guys are listed as questionable but can penciled into fantasy lineups. We'll get Dallas' inactives around 11:30 am ET.

Titans WR A.J. Brown (knee) "should be fine" for Sunday night's game vs. the Rams, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Brown is listed as questionable after being added to the injury report and sidelined on Friday. We won't get his game status until around 7 pm ET tonight, but it sounds like he can be penciled into fantasy lineups.

Browns WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (groin) is expected to play vs. the Bengals today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport also confirms that DPJ is expected to replace WR Odell Beckham in the starting lineup. We'd try not to use Peoples-Jones in Week 9 fantasy lineups, but he's worth rostering in fantasy leagues of 12+ teams.

The Titans are still hoping to get RB Derrick Henry (foot) back this season, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports, but it might be unlikely. It "would be very surprising if he made it back this season," a source told Schefter. The injury Henry suffered -- a Jones Fracture -- is notoriously difficult to return from. We'll continue to monitor his rehab, but Henry is only worth stashing in deeper fantasy leagues, with the hope that he'd be back for the final game or 2 of the season.

Rams WR Robert Woods (foot) will play vs. the Titans tonight, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Woods only got in a limited practice on Friday, but we never sensed any concern about his status for this one. He's safe to get into fantasy lineups.

49ers TE George Kittle (calf) is expected to play today but will be on a "pitch count," according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The plan is for Kittle to play "roughly half the game," Schefter adds. For perspective, Kittle played between 92-100% of San Francisco's offensive snaps in the first 4 games. Still, we'd expect him to be on the field for most, if not all, of the obvious passing situations. Consider him a lower-end TE1 with upside for Week 9.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that 49ers RB Elijah Mitchell (ribs) and WR Deebo Samuel (calf) are expected to play vs. the Cardinals today. "But team also uncertain how long each player will be able to go, and is hoping there are no setbacks," Schefter adds. Both guys obviously come with elevated risk in Week 9 fantasy lineups. RB Jeff Wilson is also expected to make his 2021 debut today, adding some more downside to Mitchell.

Ravens WR Rashod Bateman (groin) is expected to play vs. the Vikings today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. WR Sammy Watkins, meanwhile, is a game-time decision with his hamstring injury. Rapoport adds that Watkins has a "good shot to go." Watkins isn't a viable Week 9 fantasy play, but his return would add downside to Bateman

Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins remains a game-time decision for today's tilt with the 49ers, according to both ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Schefter adds, though, that the team isn't "optimistic." And Rapoport tweeted, "He almost always plays, but if there is ever an exception, this may be it." Between Hopkins' hamstring and QB Kyler Murray's ankle, Hopkins is better off on fantasy benches this week.

It'll be an "uphill battle" for Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) to play against the 49ers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Murray "will try to go, but there isn’t a ton of optimism for it," Rapoport adds. ESPN's Adam Schefter's report is only a little more optimistic. Murray "is expected to test his injury in pre-game warmups before Arizona makes a final decision on his status," Schefter tweeted. "Cardinals want to be careful." At this point, we're not expecting Murray to play vs. San Francisco. We won't find out for sure until 3 pm ET, but Murray should be on fantasy benches unless you have a viable late-game alternative. QB Colt McCoy will start for Arizona if Murray is out.

The Jaguars "don't sound optimistic" about RB James Robinson's chances of playing vs. the Bills today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Robinson got in just a limited practice on Friday with his heel injury. "But they want to test him in pre-game warmups before making any decisions," Schefter adds. We'll get Robinson's game status around 11:30 am ET. Carlos Hyde will operate as Jacksonville's lead back if Robinson is out.

ESPN's Adam Schefter included Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) in his list of players "expected to play" today. McCaffrey returned to practice this week and was placed on the active roster on Saturday. HC Matt Rhule said earlier in the week that "it would not be a 40- to 50-play situation" if CMC suits up. In other words, expect him to be limited to some extent vs. the Patriots today. See where McCaffrey sits in the Week 9 RB Rankings.

The Titans promoted RB D'Onta Foreman to the active roster. He signed to the practice squad on Tuesday, so he must have had a good week of practice. Foreman joins Jeremy McNichols and Adrian Peterson in Tennessee's backfield for Sunday night's game vs. the Rams.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (calf) was not activated from IR on Saturday and won't play against the Broncos on Sunday. He's been back at practice for a couple of weeks now, so we're guessing he'll return for Week 10. Cedrick Wilson gets at least 1 more game as Dallas' #3 WR.

49ers RB Jeff Wilson (knee) has been activated from the PUP list. That figures to mean he'll suit up for Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals. We'll see how big a role he plays. Wilson is a fine stash in deeper leagues but isn't a viable Week 9 fantasy play.
