Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Rams DL Aaron Donald suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's loss to the Chiefs. HC Sean McVay said Monday that his status for Sunday's game against the Seahawks is "TBD," according to Gary Klein of the Los Angeles Times. Losing Donald would obviously significantly impact the L.A. defense. We'll watch his status this week.

Niners HC Kyle Shanahan confirmed Monday that RB Elijah Mitchell did suffer an MCL sprain Sunday against the Saints. He's expected to miss 6-8 weeks. When Mitchell suffered the same injury to his other knee back in Week 1, he remained out until Week 10. Expect this injury to knock Mitchell out for at least the rest of the regular season. We'll see about the playoffs (for him and the 49ers).

Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) will practice "in some degree" this week, HC John Harbaugh said Monday. Dobbins has been sidelined since Week 6 and underwent arthroscopic knee surgery in late October. It doesn't necessarily sound like he'll be ready to play vs. the Broncos on Sunday, but we'll keep an eye on his status throughout the week.

Texans RB Rex Burkhead is in the concussion protocol, HC Lovie Smith said Monday. Burkhead has totaled just 2 carries and 7 targets on 59 snaps over his last 5 games, so there will be very little fantasy impact if he's unable to play vs. the Browns this weekend.

Dolphins RB Jeff Wilson found the end zone in a Week 12 win over Houston. He underwhelmed with only 52 total yards against the Texans’ league-worst run defense. Still, the result — which came with Raheem Mostert sidelined — was just fine for fantasy managers. Wilson did depart this game with what was believed to be cramping, but he later returned. Week 13 turns up a meeting with his former team, the 49ers. We tentatively expect Mostert to make it back for that one, but Wilson should remain the backfield leader.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill finished Week 12 with 6 grabs for 85 yards. Jaylen Waddle led the team in targets, but the margin was slim (10 vs. 9 for Hill). Both guys took advantage of a Texans secondary minus top CB Derek Stingley. Hill did miss some time with cramping, but fantasy owners should be pleased with the result nevertheless. He’s now up to 87-1,233-4 in 11 games. Next up is a road matchup at San Francisco.

Texans RB Dameon Pierce mustered only 8 yards on 5 carries in an ugly loss to Miami. He’s now tallied 16 yards on 15 attempts over the past 2 weeks. And, per Pro Football Focus, he’s totaled -6 yards before contact over that stretch. Basically — he’s been crushed by his supporting cast. Kyle Allen started Sunday’s game, and he actually provided a downgrade on Davis Mills. Allen will start Week 13 against Cleveland, leaving Pierce as a low-floor fantasy play.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase (hip) is expected to return for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. Chase got in 3 limited practices last week and seemed at least close to playing against the Titans. We'll keep an eye on his status this week, but he can be penciled into Week 13 fantasy lineups.

Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said Monday that RB Travis Etienne (foot) was cleared to return to the Ravens game but that the team decided to play it safe and hold Etienne out. That's frustrating for fantasy players who were invested in Etienne yesterday -- but it at least sounds like he'll be fine for this coming weekend's game vs. the Lions.

Seahawks S Ryan Neal injured his right elbow in OT of Sunday's loss to the Raiders. HC Pete Carroll said afterward that they didn't know the extent yet, though X-rays came back negative. We'll see about Neal's status heading into a Week 13 visit to the Rams.

The Colts on Sunday added LB Zaire Franklin to the injury report as questionable for Monday night's game against the Steelers because of illness. We'll check his status when the inactives come out. If Franklin sits, E.J. Speed should be the next LB up to join Bobby Okereke. Indianapolis also downgraded EDGE Kwity Paye (ankle) to out for the game. The team is reportedly optimistic about having DT DeForest Buckner (ribs, illness) and EDGE Yannick Ngakoue (back) available. Both are officially questionable.

Bills EDGE Greg Rousseau returned to practice Sunday after missing the past 3 games with an ankle sprain. "I'm feeling good man, pretty close for sure," he said afterward, according to the team website. We'll see what the team practice reports say over the next 3 days, leading up to Thursday night's clash with the Patriots.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is set for further testing on the rib injury he suffered in Sunday night's loss to the Eagles. It was originally announced as an oblique injury, but Rodgers said afterward that it's his ribs. X-rays were inconclusive for a fracture, but a Monday MRI and CT scan will provide a better look at the damage. Rodgers said that he'll be out there for Week 13 if those tests come back clean. If not, Green Bay will turn to QB Jordan Love, who played well in relief of Rodgers in Philadelphia.

Packers RB AJ Dillon ran for 64 yards and a TD on 8 carries in Sunday night's loss to the Eagles. It was his 1st score since the season opener. Dillon added 3 receptions for 24 yards among 3 targets. RB Aaron Jones added 43 rushing yards on 12 carries and 3-56-1 receiving on 4 targets. The Green Bay backfield gets a favorable matchup with the Bears in Week 13 before a Week 14 bye.

Eagles RB Miles Sanders racked up 143 yards and 2 TDs on 21 carries in Sunday night's win over the Packers. He and QB Jalen Hurts (157 rushing yards) powered a 363-yard rushing performance for Philadelphia. Sanders added 3 receptions for 17 yards on 3 targets. RB Kenneth Gainwell added a rushing TD among 8 carries for 39 yards. Week 13 holds a much tougher rushing matchup with a Titans defense that has been toughest in the league on RBs.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts threw for just 153 yards in Sunday night's win over the Packers, including TDs to WR A.J. Brown and WR Quez Watkins. Hurts beat his own passing with 157 yards on the ground. It was the 2nd-best fantasy line of a strong fantasy season for Hurts.

Packers rookie WR Christian Watson scored for the 3rd straight game, delivering a 63-yard catch-and-run TD in Sunday night's loss to the Eagles. That powered a 4-110-1 receiving line on a team-leading 6 targets. Green Bay threw just 25 passes in a game that saw QB Aaron Rodgers leave early, so Watson accounted for a 24% share. RB Aaron Jones, RB AJ Dillon and WR Randall Cobb tied for 2nd with 4 targets apiece. Jones and Cobb caught the team's other 2 TD passes. WR Allen Lazard contributed just 2 receptions for 24 yards among 3 targets. TE Robert Tonyan caught all 3 of his targets for 20 yards.

WR Jauan Jennings led the 49ers with 6 catches in Sunday's win over the Saints, taking them for 49 yards and the team's lone TD. Jennings' 7 targets tied Deebo Samuel for 2nd on the team, trailing only WR Brandon Aiyuk. Samuel caught 3 balls for 43 yards, adding 2 carries for no gain. Aiyuk caught 5 passes for 65 yards. TE George Kittle contributed 3 receptions for 26 yards on 4 targets.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara endured another rough outing on the ground in Sunday's loss to the 49ers. He managed only 13 yards on 7 carries, averaging a season-worst 1.9 yards per rush. It was his 4th straight game with 42 yards or less and 5th straight with less than 3.5 yards per carry. Kamara did, at least, add a team-high 6 receptions (on 7 targets) for 37 yards. A Week 13 matchup with the Buccaneers is at least friendlier than the 49ers. Kamara's best remaining spots, though, come after the Week 14 bye.

Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco racked up 22 carries in Sunday's win over the Rams but managed just 69 yards (3.1 per rush). He saved his fantasy line with a 3-yard TD in the 3rd quarter, his 2nd score of the year. Ronald Jones claimed the only 4 other RB carries for the game and caught his only target, matching Pacheco on that front. RB Jerick McKinnon drew 6 targets -- tying for 2nd on the team -- and caught 3 balls for 26 yards. Pacheco has now seen 15+ carries in 3 straight games.
