Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon racked up 24 carries and 4 targets in Thursday night's win over the Dolphins. All that work resulted in 74 yards and 1 TD. That's a fine fantasy outing -- but we're expecting more on that massive volume. Mixon had very little room to run behind a still-in-progress offensive line. And on the few occasions when he found some space, he failed to make defenders miss. Mixon is now averaging just 2.7 yards per carry and 4.8 yards per target through 4 games. By comparison, he averaged 4.1 yards per carry and 6.5 yards per target last year. Expect his efficiency marks to start creeping toward those 2021 numbers going forward, making Mixon a nice trade target right now.

Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel confirmed after Thursday night's loss to the Bengals that QB Tua Tagovailoa is in the concussion protocol. We'll see if he has any other injuries beyond that. Miami's next game is in 10 days vs. the Jets. QB Teddy Bridgewater played well in relief of Tagovailoa in Cincinnati, completing 14 of 23 passes for 193 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT in a little over 1 half of action.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa exited in the 2nd quarter of Thursday night's game vs. the Bengals after being slammed to the turf by Bengals DL Josh Tupou. He was taken off the field by a stretcher. We'll update Tua's status when we know more. QB Teddy Bridgewater will take over for Miami.

Update: Tagovailoa has been ruled out with head and neck injuries and is being transported to a hospital.

Update: According to the Amazon Prime broadcast crew, Tagovailoa is expected to be discharged from the hospital tonight and travel back to Miami with the team.

After returning to a limited practice on Wednesday, Bucs WR Chris Godwin did not practice on Thursday. He's now listed on the injury report with "hamstring" and "rest," so it looks like this was a planned day off. We'll see what Godwin does on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report.

Chiefs K Harrison Butker (ankle) did not practice on Thursday. That followed a limited practice on Wednesday. Look elsewhere for your Week 4 fantasy lineups.

Chiefs WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (abdomen) went from a limited practice on Wednesday to no practice on Thursday. So his availability for Sunday night's game vs. the Bucs is now in question. Check back tomorrow for another update.

Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman (heel) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. That should put him on track to play vs. the Bucs on Sunday night. We'll see what Kansas City's final injury report says tomorrow.

Cardinals WR Rondale Moore (hamstring) remained limited in Thursday's practice. It looks like he has a shot to make his 2022 debut vs. the Panthers this weekend, but we'll get another update on his status tomorrow.

Jaguars WR Zay Jones was added to Thursday's injury report with an ankle and did not practice. That obviously puts his availability for this weekend's game vs. the Eagles in question. We'll have a better idea of Jones' status when we get Jacksonville's final injury report tomorrow.

Giants WRs Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) remained sidelined on Thursday. It looks like both guys will miss this weekend's game vs. the Bears, leaving the Giants with WRs Richie James, David Sills, Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton.

After sitting out on Wednesday, Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (toe) put in a full practice on Thursday. Reportedly dealing with soreness rather than an actual injury, Taylor should be ready for his usual workload vs. the Titans this weekend.

Chargers QB Justin Herbert (ribs) was a full participant in Thursday's practice for the 1st time since suffering that injury in Week 2. It's a sign that he'll at least be closer to 100% for this weekend's game vs. the Texans.

Chargers WR Keenan Allen (hamstring) remained limited in Thursday's practice. He seems to be trending toward returning for this weekend's game vs. Houston, but we'll get another update tomorrow.

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) remained sidelined on Thursday. Expect him to be ruled out tomorrow for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks.

Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (foot) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. We're tentatively expecting him to be fine for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks, but we'll get another update tomorrow.

Lions RB Amon-Ra St. Brown (ankle) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. It's officially time to worry about his availability for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks. We'll see if St. Brown is able to practice on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report.

Lions WR D.J. Chark (ankle) went from a limited practice on Wednesday to no practice on Thursday. That puts his availability for this weekend's game vs. the Seahawks in question. WR Josh Reynolds (ankle) is also banged up, missing practice on Wednesday but returning to a limited workout on Thursday. We'll update the situation tomorrow.

Bills WR Gabriel Davis (ankle) did not practice on Thursday. That follows a limited practice on Wednesday. Friday's final injury report will shed more light on Davis' status for this weekend's game vs. the Ravens, but it's clear that he's still not at 100%.

Falcons RB Cordarrelle Patterson missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He's listed on the injury report as "resting player" and "knee," making this a confusing situation. We'll see if Patterson practices on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report. If he can't play vs. the Browns on Sunday, rookie Tyler Allgeier would likely step in as Atlanta's lead back.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (shoulder) was listed as a full participant in Thursday's practice. That sure makes it seem like Minnesota plans on having him play vs. the Saints on Sunday morning. We'll see how Cook is listed on tomorrow's final injury report.
