Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Texans RB David Johnson (illness, thigh) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Colts. RBs Rex Burkhead, Royce Freeman and Jaylen Samuels are dressed for Houston today. Burkhead should see most of the backfield work and is a viable (if disgusting) RB3 option.

11:34am EST 12/5/21

Eagles RB Boston Scott (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Jets. He was unable to practice all week, and it’s unclear if that’ll impact his role today. We’re still projecting Scott to see 10-12 carries as the #2 RB behind Miles Sanders, putting Scott in the RB3 or flex mix.

Bears WR Allen Robinson (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. With WR Marquise Goodwin (foot) also out, Chicago is down to WRs Damiere Byrd, Jakeem Grant and Isaiah Coulter behind Darnell Mooney.

Bears QB Justin Fields (ribs) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. The rookie was limited in practice this week, giving him a shot to return in Week 14. QB Andy Dalton gets another start today.

Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. He was limited on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported this morning that Hopkins "could be used more sparingly than usual due to his injury and the weather conditions.” Check the WR rankings to see if Hopkins should be in your starting lineup.

11:32am EST 12/5/21

Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. It’ll be his first action since Week 8. Murray remained limited in practice all week and will be playing in less-than-ideal weather conditions today. WR DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) is active but might be limited. Add it all up and Murray looks like a mid-to-low-end QB1 for Week 13. Check out exactly where he sits in the rankings.

11:08am EST 12/5/21

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (ankle) is officially inactive for today’s game vs. the Jets, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. QB Gardner Minshew gets the start and is a viable play in 2-QB and Superflex leagues against the #31 QB defense. The Eagles still figure to lean on their running game in this one.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) is expected to get a "heavy workload" vs. the Broncos tonight, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. CEH was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday due to a stomach bug, but it doesn't sound like it'll impact his role at all tonight. He's safe to get into fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that Seahawks RB Adrian Peterson is expected to get the "bulk of the carries" vs. the 49ers today. Peterson just joined the team on Wednesday but "looked great in practice," per Rapoport. Peterson, of course, flopped in Tennessee, and we're not optimistic about his production in this struggling Seattle running game. Avoid the Seahawks backfield in Week 13 fantasy lineups.

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury told NFL Network's Stacey Dales that QB Kyler Murray (ankle) and WR DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) will play vs. the Bears today. Kingsbury had previously called both guys game-time decisions, so they evidently checked out well today. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported this morning that Hopkins could be limited today, so he still carries more risk than usual in Week 13 fantasy lineups.

Rams WR Odell Beckham (hip) is expected to play vs. the Jaguars today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Beckham "should be a bigger part of the offense," Rapoport adds. That'd be tough considering Beckham played 98% of the offensive snaps and saw 10 targets last week. But the takeaway here is that Beckham shouldn't be limited by that hip pointer. He's a WR2 with upside in today's plus matchup.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) is expected to play vs. Washington today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Jacobs was added to the injury report on Thursday and limited in the final 2 practices of the week, so he carries a bit more risk than usual in Week 13 fantasy lineups.

Jaguars RB James Robinson (heel, knee) "plans to try to play" vs. the Rams today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "He has been hobbled for weeks now, but was feeling better Saturday," Schefter adds. Robinson has been dealing with the heel and knee injuries since mid-November, but it sounds like he's in worse shape this week. Consider him just a low-end RB2 for Week 13. And if you're planning to use him, it'd make sense to have RB Carlos Hyde rostered in case Robinson ends up inactive.

The Rams will test RB Darrell Henderson's injured thigh before today's game vs. the Jaguars, but the team is "not optimistic" about his chances of playing, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Henderson got in just a limited practice on Friday, and the Rams shouldn't feel any need to push him in an easily winnable game. We won't get Los Angeles' inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET, but fantasy owners should assume at this point that Henderson won't play. That'd leave Sony Michel as the Rams' lead back and a RB1 in fantasy lineups. Mekhi Sargent is the only other RB on the roster.

Update: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport tweets that Henderson is "hopeful" to play today but "may not have a full workload." We'll look for further updates.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (illness) is expected to play vs. the Broncos tonight, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. CEH was listed as questionable after being added to the injury report and missing practice on Friday. But we're not expecting his usage to be impacted by the situation tonight. Edwards-Helaire is safe to get into fantasy lineups.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Bears today. Murray was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, but he's been trending toward returning for this one for a while. Murray ranks 3rd among QBs in fantasy points per game but comes with added risk this week. It'll be his first action since Week 8, WR DeAndre Hopkins is expected to be limited and the weather in Chicago could be an issue.

Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Bears today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. But Hopkins "could be used more sparingly than usual due to his injury and the weather conditions," Schefter adds. Hopkins has been out since Week 8 with this hamstring injury and got in just 2 limited practices this week. The forecast for today's game in Chicago calls for rain, which might increase the odds Hopkins aggravates the injury. It's impossible to know exactly how much he'll end up playing today, leaving Hopkins as a risky fantasy start.

Texans RB David Johnson (illness, thigh) is "unlikely" to play vs. the Colts today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. We'll find out for sure around 11:30 am ET. Johnson and Rex Burkhead have been splitting backfield work lately, so Johnson's absence would be a boost to Burkhead's projected volume. Houston also has RBs Royce Freeman and Jaylen Samuels on the active roster.

Eagles RB Boston Scott (illness) is expected to play vs. the Jets today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Scott missed all 3 practices this week, so there's a chance his role his impacted today. Still, the matchup against the league's 32nd-ranked RB defense makes Scott worth considering as a RB3 or flex.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Jets, according to Eagles writer Derrick Gunn. That will make Gardner Minshew the starter. Gunn adds that RB Boston Scott will be a game-time decision. Scott is dealing with an illness that kept him out of practice all week. With Jordan Howard ruled out, Miles Sanders could be in for a bigger-than-normal workload in 1 of the league's most favorable matchups for RB scoring.

Update: ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Hurts "very well may be out" but that the team wants to "see how Hurts is feeling" Sunday before making a final decision on his status. It still sounds like you should make alternate plans at QB if you had been planning to use Hurts.
