Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Dolphins WR Will Fuller (chest, elbow) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. It gives him a shot to play vs. the Colts this weekend -- although Fuller is a shaky fantasy play at less than 100%.

Colts TE Jack Doyle (back) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He appears to be in real danger of missing this weekend's game vs. Miami. Doyle's absence would leave Mo Alie-Cox as Indianapolis' top TE.

Colts RB Jonathan Taylor (knee) remained limited in Thursday's practice. We've heard nothing to suggest that Taylor is in danger of missing Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins, but check back tomorrow for another update on his situation.

Vikings RB Dalvin Cook (ankle) put in his 2nd straight limited practice on Thursday. Cook seems to be on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Browns, but check back tomorrow for another update.

Steelers WR Chase Claypool was added to the injury report with a hamstring and limited in practice on Thursday. His status for this weekend's game vs. the Packers is suddenly in doubt. Check back tomorrow for another update.

Steelers WR Diontae Johnson (knee) was upgraded to full participation in Thursday's practice. He's on track to return for Sunday's game vs. the Packers. Even with a washed-up Ben Roethlisberger, Johnson's volume makes him a solid WR2 play.

Steelers WR JuJu Smith-Schuster (ribs) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. Dealing with bruised ribs, JuJu figures to play vs. the Packers this weekend. But check back tomorrow for another update.

Raiders RB Josh Jacobs (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. He's no longer listed on the injury report with a toe issue. HC Jon Gruden was non-committal when asked about Jacobs' status for Monday night's game vs. the Chargers. "We'll see," Gruden said. "I'd say he's questionable at the moment." Gruden also said this of RB Peyton Barber: "Not going to hesitate to put him in a primary role, after what he did against the Dolphins." We'll see if Jacobs is ready for Monday night and then how Vegas divvies carries.

Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf was added to the injury report with a foot and limited in practice on Thursday. We don't have any other info on his status right now. Check back tomorrow for another update.

Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett (hip) did not practice on Thursday. That followed a limited practice on Wednesday. So Lockett either suffered a setback or got Thursday off. We'll have a better idea of his Week 4 status when Seattle's final injury report comes out Friday afternoon.

7:09pm EDT 9/30/21

Jaguars RB Carlos Hyde is a healthy scratch for tonight's game vs. the Bengals. It's a surprise considering Hyde played 31% of Jacksonville's offensive snaps and totaled 19 carries and 4 targets over the first 3 games. Dare Ogunbowale will serve as the Jaguars' #2 RB tonight, but RB James Robinson should be in for an expanded role.

Update: ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports that Hyde's shoulder "didn't feel right" when he got to the stadium.

Titans WRs A.J. Brown and Julio Jones missed practice again on Thursday with their hamstring injuries. Fantasy owners should be planning on both guys missing Sunday's game vs. the Jets. That'd obviously be a blow to QB Ryan Tannehill's fantasy outlook.

Cardinals WR DeAndre Hopkins (ribs) returned to practice on Thursday. He's going to play Sunday vs. the Rams -- but between the rib injury, his slow start and a matchup vs. CB Jalen Ramsey, Hopkins looks like just a WR2 for Week 4.

Bucs TE Rob Gronkowski (ribs) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. We're still expecting Gronk to play vs. the Patriots on Sunday night, but his status is worth checking on tomorrow. RB Gio Bernard also missed practice again on Thursday.

Giants WRs Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton remained sidelined on Thursday with their hamstring injuries. Both guys figure to miss this weekend's game vs. the Saints. Rookie Kadarius Toney figures to step in as New York's primary slot receiver, with Collin Johnson and C.J. Board filling in for Slayton.

Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (hamstring) missed practice again on Thursday. It's looking like he'll miss this weekend's game vs. the Steelers. Look for Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb to operate as Green Bay's #2 and #3 WRs in that one, but they're really only in play in DFS.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson (back) missed practice again on Thursday. The team is calling it "back soreness," according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec, who does expect Jackson to play vs. Denver this weekend. But this is certainly a situation to monitor over the next few days. We'll see if Jackson practices tomorrow.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson was held out of Thursday's practice with a shin injury. "Initial sense is Gibson sat today for precautionary reasons," The Athletic's Ben Standig tweeted. Check back tomorrow for another update on Gibson's status.

Ravens QB Lamar Jackson did not practice on Wednesday and is on the injury report with a back. We don't have any other details at this point and didn't notice Jackson get hurt in last week's win over the Lions. We're assuming he'll be ready for Sunday's game vs. the Broncos, but check back for updates.

The Bengals have ruled S Jessie Bates out for Thursday night's game against the Jaguars with a neck injury. We haven't seen any indication yet this is expected to be a multi-week issue, but we'll watch for updates. It'll either be Sean Davis or Brandon Wilson filling in.
