Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

11:33am UTC 12/28/24

Chargers TE Will Dissly (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Patriots. He’s been out since Week 14 but had been operating as Los Angeles’ lead TE, averaging 5.4 targets, 4.0 catches, and 39 yards over his last eight healthy games. We’re expecting Dissly to step back in as the starter today, but he’d be a shaky TE1 play in season-long leagues. TE Hayden Hurst (illness) is inactive.

The Panthers are placing RB Chuba Hubbard on season-ending IR with calf and knee injuries, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter (and other reports). It's a surprise move after Hubbard finished the practice week questionable. Carolina's left with not much in the backfield for Sunday's clash with the Buccaneers.

Bengals WR Tee Higgins (ankle, knee) is expected to play vs. the Broncos today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Higgins was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, so it's safe to assume he'll be operating at less than 100%. He also draws a tough Broncos secondary that's getting back CB Riley Moss for this one. It has Higgins sitting a bit lower than usual in the Week 17 WR Rankings, but he still belongs in the vast majority of fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport confirms that Cardinals RB James Conner (knee) is expected to play vs. the Rams tonight. Rapoport also confirms that Conner will be playing "at less than 100%" just six days after injuring his knee. Arizona was eliminated from playoff contention last week, so it's possible that Conner's workload is scaled back. Of course, he'd been producing as a fantasy RB1 when healthy, so he could still post useful numbers even with a reduced role. See where Conner lands in the Week 17 RB Rankings.

Jets QB Aaron Rodgers (knee) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Bills. Rodgers said early in the week that he has a minor MCL injury, but it doesn’t look like it’ll be a factor this weekend.

Jets WR Davante Adams (hip) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Dolphins. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, but we’ve yet to hear anything to suggest that Adams is in danger of missing this one. We’ll keep you posted on his status and get the Jets’ inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Browns. He dealt with this hip issue last week but was left off the final injury report. We’ve heard nothing to suggest that Tagovailoa is in danger of missing this one, but we’ll keep an eye on his status.

Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill (wrist, rest) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Browns. He played through a ‘questionable’ tag last week and should be available this weekend. But we’ll look for any further updates on Hill’s status.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Browns. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday. HC Mike McDaniel sounded optimistic about Waddle’s availability for this one on Friday. We’ll look for further updates on him but won’t get Miami’s inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET on Sunday. We’re currently projecting Waddle to play, but he lands outside the top 40 WRs in the Week 17 Rankings.

Colts WR Alec Pierce (concussion) put in a full week of practice and is off the final injury report for Sunday’s game vs. the Giants. He should be back in a near full-time role but would be a flier in Week 17 fantasy lineups.

Saints WR Chris Olave (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. He was a full participant in practice all week, but it’s still unclear if he’s ready for game action. We’ll look for further updates on Olave’s status and get New Orleans’ inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (chest) is also listed as questionable after a limited week of practice.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (groin) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Raiders. He didn’t practice all week, but interim HC Darren Rizzi believes Kamara has a chance to make it back for Week 18. He needs 50 rushing yards for his first 1,000-yard season. New Orleans will again roll with RBs Kendre Miller, Jordan Mims, and Jamaal Williams this weekend. Miller was a big bust last week but should get better game script against the Raiders on Sunday. He’s at least in play as a RB3 or Flex.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts (concussion, finger) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Cowboys. QB Kenny Pickett (ribs) was limited in practice throughout the week but is off the final injury report and will get the start. That should mean a bit more passing volume for the Eagles, but a dip in efficiency. It projects as about a wash for WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith.

Titans K Nick Folk (abdomen) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. Matthew Wright will kick for Tennessee this weekend but is not a recommended fantasy play.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) missed practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was in the same boat last week before playing against the Colts – although he finished with just 10 touches on a 39% snap rate. That was partly game-script related, but we don’t expect a huge workload for Pollard this weekend even if script works in his favor.

Packers WR Christian Watson (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Vikings. He didn’t practice all week and seems unlikely to play, but the team is at least keeping the door open. We should get an update on Watson’s status on Sunday morning. He’d be a risky fantasy start if he ends up active. If not, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks would be Green Bay’s clear top three WRs.

Bills WR Curtis Samuel (rib) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jets. We’ll get Buffalo’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday, but hopefully Samuel is not in your Week 17 fantasy plans.

Giants WR Malik Nabers (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. He only got in a limited practice on Friday and called himself a gameday decision for this one. We’ll look for further updates on Nabers’ status and get New York’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. He'll obviously carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups if he ends up playing.

Giants RB Tyrone Tracy (ankle) is not listed on the final Week 17 injury report. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. So, while he’ll play vs. the Colts this weekend, it’s safe to assume he won’t be at 100%. It leaves him as a risky RB2 play for a New York offense implied for only 16.25 points.

Jets K Greg Zuerlein (knee) will return for Sunday's game vs. the Bills, the team announced. Zuerlein has been out since Week 8. He's not a viable Week 17 fantasy play with the Jets sporting an 18.25-point implied total.
