Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Bills WR Keon Coleman (wrist) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. "We’ll see how it goes each day as we move through the week," HC Sean McDermott said. We'll track the rookie's progress over the next few days, but he won't be a recommended Week 13 fantasy starter vs. San Francisco's eighth-ranked WR defense.
49ers QB Brock Purdy (right shoulder) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. We'll see how he progresses throughout the week, leading up to Sunday night's game vs. the Bills. But Purdy won't be a recommended QB1 play coming off the shoulder injury against the No. 9 QB defense.
Eagles WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring) remained sidelined for Wednesday's practice. That's not a good start for his chances of playing vs. the Ravens this weekend. We'll see if Smith gets back on the practice field tomorrow. But if you're deciding between Smith and a WR playing on Thanksgiving, you're safest going with the guy playing on Thanksgiving.
Commanders RB Austin Ekeler (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. He's unlikely to be cleared in time for this weekend's game vs. the Titans. RB Brian Robinson (ankle) got in a limited practice on Wednesday, though, giving him a chance to play on Sunday. We'll keep you updated on this backfield over the next few days. RBs Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez would handle backfield duties if Ekeler and Robinson are out.
Titans RB Tyjae Spears (concussion) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. We're tentatively expecting him back for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders but will continue to track his progress through the protocol. Spears would be a desperation RB3 or Flex play in fantasy lineups, but his return would downgrade Tony Pollard to low-end RB2 status.
Titans WR Calvin Ridley (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He's missed a bunch of practice time lately, but this is the first time he's been listed with an ankle. We'll see if Ridley gets back on the practice field tomorrow.
Seahawks TE Noah Fant (groin) was a full-go in Wednesday's practice. That puts him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Jets after missing the past three games. Fant has averaged 3.4 catches and 36 yards per game this season. He's not a recommended TE1 play against the Jets' fourth-ranked TE defense.
Seahawks WRs D.K. Metcalf (shoulder) and Tyler Lockett (knee) did not practice on Wednesday. There have been no further updates on either guy. We'll see if they get back on the practice field tomorrow, ahead of Sunday's game vs. the Jets.
Colts WR Alec Pierce (foot) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any details on his foot injury. WR Josh Downs (shoulder) is not expected to play vs. the Patriots this weekend, while WR Ashton Dulin (ankle) also missed Wednesday's practice. That leaves Michael Pittman, Adonai Mitchell, and Anthony Gould as the three healthy WRs on Indianapolis' active roster.
Jaguars QB Trevor Lawrence (shoulder) was limited in Wednesday's practice. HC Doud Pederson was non-committal on Lawrence's availability for this weekend's game vs. the Texans before practice. We'll continue to track his status over the next few days. Lawrence shouldn't be part of your Week 13 fantasy plans, but his return would be good news for WR Brian Thomas and TE Evan Engram.
Jaguars RB Tank Bigsby (ankle) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That puts him on track to play against the Texans this weekend -- and makes Jacksonville's backfield one to avoid in fantasy lineups. It's unclear how work will be divvied between Bigsby and Travis Etienne. And Houston ranks fifth in adjusted fantasy points allowed to RBs.
Falcons WR Darnell Mooney (Achilles) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He suffered a hamstring injury prior to Atlanta's Week 12 bye, but that isn't listed on this week's injury report. This Achilles was on the Week 11 injury report but didn't keep Mooney from playing. We're expecting him to play against the Chargers this weekend but will track his status over the next few days.
Chargers TE Will Dissly (groin) did not practice on Wednesday. We don't have any other details on the groin issue after Dissly seemed to make it out of Monday night's loss to the Ravens okay. We'll see if he gets back on the practice field tomorrow.
Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson (concussion) is out for Thursday's game vs. the Giants. He had no chance to clear concussion protocol in just four days but should be back for Week 14. His absence again leaves TE duties to Luke Schoonmaker and Brevyn Spann-Ford. Schoonmaker delivered a 3-55-1 line in last week's win over the Commanders, but he saw only four targets on a 59% route rate. He's in play in Thanksgiving DFS contests but would be a shaky start in season-long leagues.
Cowboys WR Brandin Cooks (knee) has been activated from IR. That puts him in line to play vs. the Giants on Thanksgiving. Cooks has been out since Week 4 and averaged just 2.3 catches and 23 yards across the first four games of the season. He should be nowhere near redraft rosters and isn't a recommended play in any Thanksgiving DFS contests.
Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (knee) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game vs. the Bears. He was a full-go in Wednesday's practice, and we've heard nothing to suggest that he's in legitimate danger of missing this one. St. Brown can stay penciled into Week 13 fantasy lineups. Just check back around 11 am ET tomorrow to make sure he's active.
Lions RB David Montgomery (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game vs. the Bears. He put in a full practice on Wednesday, though, and all indications are that he's on track to play. We'll get Detroit's inactives around 11 am ET tomorrow.
Packers WR Romeo Doubs (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game vs. the Dolphins. He never had a chance to clear protocol in four days but will likely be back for Week 14's game against the Lions. Doubs' absence on Thanksgiving should mean a big boost in playing time for WR Dontayvion Wicks.
Jets RB Breece Hall did not practice on Wednesday. HC Jeff Ulbrich said Hall "got nicked in the knee" back in Week 11 and is still dealing with some soreness. "So we’re just gonna protect him from himself a little bit today," Ulbrich added. "We’ll see how the week goes along. Still hopeful that he’s gonna play for us, we’ll see." RB Braelon Allen would likely step into a workhorse role if Hall is unable to play vs. the Seahawks on Sunday. We'll update his status again tomorrow.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito appears to be a longshot to play on Thanksgiving due to his forearm injury. He is formally listed as questionable, but Drew Lock is in line to start, according to reports. DeVito's injury will be evaluated further.
